I think that's a widely held opinion. I don't share it, though. I like the "in disguise" aspect of TFs so I appreciate beast forms that manage to imitate realistic animals with minimal robot bits sticking out. Its also an aesthetic that is almost impossible to find outside of TFs, so it feels like something unique to the franchise.
I do like robot beasts, too, but I prefer them more sleek and less boxy, more like Zoids or Transmetals. Not really fond of the more boxy G1 beasts, like the G1 Predacons. I like the idea of them a lot, but the style leaves me cold.

I don't necessarily need full on gore/body horror, but some organic beastformers where you see the underlayers as you transform them. Like under the fur/scale layer is a muscle layer, similar to a CRYSIS Nanosuit or later MGS tech where its sort of like synthetic muscles. Then further on you see the bone structure, which is metal and may fold in relation to the transformation. seems like something Sentinel would do if they ever did Beast wars.

I'll start by saying I don't know any better: The only other MP I have is the 20th Anniversary Prime. But this Tracks seems like a really nice toy.
The plastic doesn't feel cheap and all the pieces fit together as they should. There aren't any issues with parts pegging together. The joints are all satisfactorily tight (none too loose).
I'm happy I got it!
Some might complain about the rubber tires, but I haven't run into problems with any of mine yet.

Most of DOTM deluxes are pretty solid. They feel a bit mediocre compared to ROTF and HTFD but that's their charm, being simpler and more solid but not too simple.
DOTM Sky Hammer and DOTM Megatron are my favorite voyagers from that line.
The shitters of ROTF can be pinpointed by their gimmicks. Rampage is a fucking mess.
The '07 line I think is the more favored here but Jazz and Optimus are JUST wew.

Eh. I saw the US version in person. I wasn't that impressed. If anything I think the metallic flecks in the plastic make it look cheaper, like the kind of plastic they use in chintzy party favors or whatever. I was holding out to find one of the silver-painted comic variants, but the KOs were shit quality, and the genuine articles were stupid-expensive.

Yeah him, heard heh was alright, though it was pretty shit that it was the only line that never gave megatron a leader for the line, although I DID see a fan made leader of him that literally was a sales up voyager at an event for sale.
In summation, movie 1 had an okay line with leader brawl as the golden child of the line, ROTF had some pretty god tier ones like star scream and optimus, but also some of the worst like devestator (literally the legends one was better) and most of the constructions (still mad we got Cucked out of a voyager scrapper figure). On average movie 3 had the best overall, but nothing as good as the best of ROTF, and movie 4 was just mostly a joke

I'd love to see him portrayed as a Decepticon equivalent of a Nurgle plague marine, acting as a walking/rolling vessel for every disease known to Transformerkind, armed with a cosmic rust scythe and a gold plastic syndrome raygun. I have the original Armada version. Aside from one of his knee ratchets, which has given up the ghost (I blame my child self's hamhands and the toy's sheer age) he's pretty great. All he's missing is thigh swivels. He's a fair bit bigger than a CW combiner, though much smaller than Gen Metroplex. He's very dense and heavy. His robot mode is basically perfect and his planet mode, whilst not 100%, is a lot of fun for what is essentially an imperfect ball.

I own the G2 version and he is garbage. Onslaught sucks as a Torso, Robot, and vehicle. The limbs hav integrated hands and feet, which means they look like shit. His proportions are awful and fanmoding him barely solves any problems.

I'd actually love a whole "plague/toxic" Decepticon subgroup (not necessarily a combiner either), and if I were better at customizing I'd do it. I'd make Oil Slick (unaltered Animated toy), Toxitron (made from that platinum edition YOTG Optimus Prime, maybe?), "Septicon" drones who transform into plague-themed rat-rods (made from various cheap carformers), an insecticide/posion spreading crop duster called Blight (made from ROTF Ransack), a chemical missile launcher called Dirtybomb (made from Cybertron Defence Red Alert) and if I was feeling REALLY ambitious, a heavy conversion/repaint of TR Fort Max or Generations Metroplex into "Pestilus Maximus" (though the only conversions would be purely cosmetic, and most of it would be sculptwork done to make him look gribbly and crusty, along with the painting of said sculptwork).
