you realize that hasbro stills those same sculptors right? Independent is cheaper than internal.
Also, isn't that body piece just from one of the earlier figures?

The female body on Shooter and the Female Officer?

Shooter is entirely new and the officer uses the same torso and arms. Just the Legs are reused.

Do you see anyone here wearing body armor? It's fucking 'nam era load outs for them!
>>

It's not about tech, it's about shitty fucking accessories and Hasbro's constant reuse of them. Officer Splittail and Stiletto with that crappy SVDS being other examples.

We actually need more Vietnam era kit. The best thing about Gung Ho was that sweet M69 flak vest. And if I ever get NECA's grenade bandoleer I'm gonna finish taking ol' GH back to the Khe Sanh.

>>
Portion of panel discussing why so many figures are re-releases with no paint changes. It states that Hasbro allows them to have only so many new figures per year and any paint/deco changes or part swaps would count as a new figure and would ultimately cost them more money to produce, because they would have to pay people to oversee the changes all through-out the production. So if they released just new figures including those with just a new paint job, they'd only be able to put out about maybe 7 figures for the entire year. While with the carrying forward of older figures they can pad that out for example by turning it into a few waves of 50th.

>>5746581
If wasn't for the boobs I'd swear is a chinese man

>>5746649
I'm personally fine with re-releases without being recolored, in fact always thought recolor was a dickmove. Sometimes you wanted a figure and couldn't get it, and when it finally comes out again it happens to be a terribly recolor, if they are gona re-release with same colors...don't see problem there.
>>
>>5746712
I kinda hoped we'd get a repainted Zombie Viper that was red since the 50th Cobra Commander came with red Compound Z bombs. The original Ultimate Cobra Commander had blue ones, so when I saw the crossword puzzle assumed we might get Zombie Viper, hopefully with red coloring to tie into those bombs and also to make a new type of zombie.

I do like that it's the same as the 30th version, as the fact that it's the same and packaged two in a set and not short packed should drive the prices down a bit on these guys.

I'm also glad the 30th Viper and 25th Iron Grenadier are the same so I can seamlessly add them to the ranks of my army.
>>

>>
>>5746762
Looks like the urban bat has a damaged right shoulder. New mold or was that like that with the jungle bat?

>tfw no jungle bats

No vehicles this time? I know sdcc. Would be bice to have that hiss in black. I guess the vehicle 2 packs didnt sell too well.
>>
>>5746858
The 50th arctic BAT has alternate, battle-damaged head and chest-cover. Not sure what's its original use.
>>
>>5746858
>I guess the vehicle 2 packs didnt sell too well.

Yeah, TRU reported low sales, no surprises there, the prices were high, so no vehicles at retail this year.
>>
>>5746858
Making the vehicles 2 packs kinda makes them a tad expensive. I would have bought more of them if I could. As is I bought 4 sets of Silent Strike just to have 4 Hiss tanks. The Skystrikers were so big though that I only kept two of them. I also have a few Foe Strikers and four 50th Vamps and three of the 50th Ghosthawks.

They're giving regular stickers with the Transformers Rattler to kinda make up for it, so you customize into into a plane for your Tomax and Xamot they said or for whatever purposes you want, so you don't have to be stuck with a Transfomers version.

I'm pretty sure GI Joes were the first Hasbro figures using that form of articulation.

Do note it really doesn't do anything except make make the feet remain parallel to the ground, to please those asspies who find pleasure from that parallelness. You can get the same pose from the figure without them through use of a stand, which most figures today come with or you can buy for $4 or even free from a local dry cleaner
>>
>>5748603
>Through use of a stand
If the foot doesn't lie on the plane, how can the peg of the stand go into the foot? That said, the joint in your picture is less useful than the older, inverted style, where you could balance on the side of the foot but could rotate the foot to the left or right as you needed. The best combination though is the new style with another swivel between the knee and it, either in the way of Revoltech style jointing or in the way that Marvel Universe WAS using in figures like Hercules, Baron Zemo, X-23, She-Hulk, etc. where it was in the upper calf.

Battle Corps COBRA Viper
Salvo

Raptor

Steel Raven
Shattered Glass Xamot
Gaucho

I'm considering signing up. But can someone more knowledgeable than me explain the club? Like should I sign up now? Is there any reason to do it now or wait?
>>
>>5749788
Wait to sign up when the figures get posted. The only thing you get right now is the crappy monthly newsletter comic and the membership figure that will be sent out next year. You have to be a member of the Club to subscribe so if you wait until the FSS 5.0 starts, you might be able to squeeze in FSS 6.0 if you like it before your membership ends. You have to be a Club member to subscribe, but not necessarily a Club member while you get the FSS figures. So covering two FSS subs under 1 membership is a good deal.

Tips:
>Dividing up into 3 payments will cost you more in the end and they have been known to hit you with payment 2 and then a month later with payment 3 being due. You pay a fee for each payment you send, so paying it all at once is more cost effective than a reoccurring $6+ extra dollars.

>The FSS is managed from a different site than the Club membership. Remember this if you need to change an address or payment to be used. If you miss a payment and don't get it fixed within a couple of days, they'll cancel the rest of your figures with no chances to come back for that FSS.

>The free 13th figure is only through the FSS. But you won't know what it is and you won't know what order the figures will be shipped to you other than #13 is the last shipment.

>Figures shown off will greatly change by the time they're carded and finished. The Club does not fix their own mistakes. If a figure didn't get paint for a particular part on all of them, then that's the way it now is. Alot of the mockups look better than the final figures.

Just unarticulated Schleich toys, I think, other than *maybe* some Warcraft stuff though I can't remember if anything was 1:18 scale.

There's a difference between the stand you just posted and >>5750568 In the other one, the stand is just a chunk of wire shoved into a gap that's not made to function that way, and has been known to cause damage to the jointing area. Compare that to the stand in your picture, where it's a wire selected for a specific gauge width to go in a hole that was already there, doing no more damage than the stand that was already made for that model kit. If you'd posted a claw-stand made from the same material, I'd have more respect, as it doesn't take much more effort and creates less damage to the figure overall.

most of these people who use wires aren't just shoving them into a gap.

There is a sale nearby and I was wonderting if it would have some use. Will it be too small?

IIRC the original MOBAT, and a few of the original vehicles, were originally developed as underscaled model kits.

Just a little News update.

>FSS 4.0 wave 6 shipped out last week.
So figures should be in soon guesses for the 13th figure are

TF Jinx
Munisha
Female Doc.

>Vehicles were planned for the 2016 50th wave.
Thats right further interview with Mark Weber and Depriest reveal that atleast two sets were planned (Arctic Vamp being one of them)
so those of us wondering where a curtain update to the Joes first Machine gunner is well theres your answer. The good news is they were far enough in development that they would carry over if the need for more exclusives arises

> Hisstank Still butthurt about Joe Con
fags over at the tank still mad their personal wants were not met. continued to call club members Shills and Elitists and complained that the exclusives were repaints with new parts and not completely new sculpted items that they couldn't afford anyway.
>>
>>5759922
so why weren't vehicles made?
>>
>>5759945
Vehicle two packs didn't sell well enough. Not enough people bought them at full price, while many waited until clearance and then scooped them up at discount.

If more people supported the line you'd have your vehicles and perhaps even your Rock N Roll in November.
>>
>>5759945
>>5759983
Also most toy collectors work at McDonald's or some other low wage job or are neets and can't afford to pay around $60 for a set that has 4 figures, a Sky Striker jet and a Hiss Tank.
>>
>>5759922
>TF Jinx
Probably gonna be her, but I'm only interested if it has her unmasked short hair head.

Munitia would be interesting.

>Female Doc
Leave it to fans to clamor over the most boring characters.

>Arctic Vamp
Would have gotten me more interested in collecting arctic figures and vehicles. Wonder what Joes would have been in the vehicle sets. I'm assuming we would have had two sets, with at lest two figures per set.

>continued to call club members Shills and Elitists and complained that the exclusives were repaints with new parts and not completely new sculpted items that they couldn't afford anyway.

Hisstank rages over the club any time they do anything or don't something quicker or give them a figure they want right now. They always quibble over what parts would be better and how to "fix" a figure and how they shouldn't have to "fix" it.

I'm not a fan of being forced to buy something i don't want just to get something i do.

Although they give you a great deal >>5759989 , i'd rather pay up the extra for them to be packaged separately.

So I now have 4 Skystrikers, with only one put together, because i only have space for that one. I'm too lazy to ebay it and my nephews aren't interested in jets at all, so i can't even give it away.
>>

>If more people supported the line

Maybe if Hasbro acted as if they gave a shit, we'd reciprocate. They've half-assed this line since at least 2010. Remember the stacks of Arctic Destro and no one else?
>>
>>5759922
I hope its that concept case Rock n' Roll
>>
>>5760038
>They've half-assed this line since at least 2010
Except that's the same era as Pursuit of Cobra and 30th and Retaliation, all of which were good lines with plenty of cheap vehicles and Retaliation gave us some of the best figures ever produced.

>Remember the stacks of Arctic Destro and no one else?

Acting like that was a bad figure. Every figure can't be a Troop builder friend, a few might be an Arctic Destro.
>>
>>5760030
I just trade off extra Skystrikers on Hisstank and build up my army further. I do the same with two and three pack figures. I buy what I want and trade off the extra figures for things I need.

Hasbro had the right idea giving this Duke a gas mask, and i would have bought more if his wave didn't disappear leaving behind the Artic Destros that made those shelves his home.

>>5760080
Only retards blame distribution. The only time you can blame distribution is when there's a strike halting new shipments from coming in, like that dock strike earlier this year.

>>5760107
Only if you live in the tempe area!
>>
>>5760080
Shelf warmers have nothing to do with them. Every line has a shelf warmer. POC had multiple Destro's, hence why one shelf warmed.
>>
>>5760338
when those shelf warmers are clogging the pegs and stores aren't ordering any more because the pegs are still full, then it's a problem.
>>
>>5760038
Fuck you, Hasbro just laid it all out for us at Joe Con. "G.I.Joe is the only fan Catered line on store shelves" Hasbro does "Give a shit" if they didn't don't you think they'd stop producing a line they don't care about or was a money pit

Arctic Destro is like the perfect scapegoat for Joe fans even after 6 years. Look Hasbro sends stuff to the distribution centers from There stores have all the power. Hasbro can't make them put stuff out the Store/Company power scheme has shifted. Retailers are now who make the calls Wal-mart doesn't want to carry the line after what happened with the Movie. well ok then. Hasbro can't take the waltons to court over not carrying a line.

Just order shit off line and use retail as a fallback my town don't even have a TRU and I get my joes ASAP.

>>
>>5759983
>Not enough people bought them at full price, while many waited until clearance and then scooped them up at discount

I'm not an expert on marketing but if the items doesn't sell at "full price" but when they are at clearance they sell incredible fast and there is even shortage...wouldn't that mean that the items need a price readjustment?
>>
>>5761080
The operating theory is that Joe fans are so cheap they'll wait for clearance no matter how low the initial MSRP is.
>>
>>5761095
It doesn't help that many Joe fans are conditioned to wait for sales. There were tons of haul reports of getting tons of Joe stuff cheap if they just wait. I've observed it as far back as RoC, when I got into Joes, and I'm sure it's been that way since the 90s.
>>

>The rock roadblock was pretty bad for a while too

>There were tons of haul reports of getting tons of Joe stuff cheap if they just wait

Sadly this is true, at least partially, its a common chit-chat in forums like hisstank.
>>
>>5761115
I buy the stuff that I want at full price. If I see stuff on clearance/sales, I'll buy extras for army building, trading, kitbashing and customs. You never know what is going to be hard to find so, I buy it when I see it. More often than not, you regret the things you don't buy more often than the things you do buy.
>>
>>5761183
The idiots on Hiss tank started the "Wait for ROSS" Movement during the 25th era and it stuck. the Mentality is poisonous to Modern toylines but since a bulk of the Joe fanbase is from the ARAH era paying for anything over 5 bucks is seen as bullshit.

Theres nothing wrong for waiting for clearance for things that might be out of your price range. But when you Refuse to support a line at retail until it's in a close out store....you're fuckin up. and I hate you.
>>
>>5761095
But to be fair great part of Joe collectors are army builders, of course you want them cheap because you couldn't buy that much other way
>>
>>5759661
>Will it be too small?
Quite a bit, yes.

>>5759720
>IIRC the original MOBAT, and a few of the original vehicles, were originally developed as underscaled model kits.
Not exactly, but most of them were 1:20th scale. You can go up to 1:15th (Bruder, some Tonka) without looking too silly, but after that everything is oversized.
>>
>>5761676
But TF fans will buy crap they don't want and waddle over to the MLP section.

A big part of the problem is that the 25th line started at about $6 per figure and $20-$25 for the box sets. When the cost went up to $10 each it felt like less of a value. Of course Hasbro could've rolled with the interest that Dollar General had and kept those figures going through them, but that would make sense.
>>
>>5761843
>Of course Hasbro could've rolled with the interest that Dollar General had and kept those figures going through them, but that would make sense.
I think it doesn't make sense to you is because you don't realize that Hasbro can only make things if stores order it.
Hasbro stopped releasing things for Dollar General because Dollar General didn't want more product or because it would cost too much.
We're already seeing 4" figures being $13, so it's likely just being priced out of their stores.
We generally see figures going for far less when they're in multi-packs, but everyone makes more money by selling these more expensive options. These bulk deals are always a great deal for everyone: manufacturer, retailer, and customer.

As for waiting on clearance, i don't. I'll buy whatever I like and i see. I learned long ago that you can't wait or hold off from buying something, because even when a peg is full of that one figure you want, it might end up being popular and then rare.
That said, i've rarely seen GI Joes in Rosses or Marshalseses.
>>

>>
>>5761711
>But to be fair great part of Joe collectors are army builders, of course you want them cheap because you couldn't buy that much other way
Yeah that's true, and I totally went and bought a ton of stuff when it hit Ross... but I also bought what I wanted at regular retail as well. I view the Ross discounted stuff as a pleasant bonus.

Really I don't have a problem with anybody buying stuff at Ross. What I get annoyed with is the idea that anything over a certain arbitrary amount is Hasbro ripping people off and therefore they need to be punished by allowing the line to go to clearance outlets like Ross. They're not going to lower the prices just because they're not being bought at TRU. They'd cancel the line before doing that.
>>
>>5761843
>>5761964
Started at 6$ fair enough then Oil prices changed and then demand when up and so on and so on. We can stand here all day point fingers at whose to blame but the truth is everything got more expensive and I mean EVERYTHING! Toys in general are suffering and we just happen to be in the 13 dollars for two 4 inch figures and 20 dollars for a 6 incher time that might change but right now it's what we got.

I've found a lot of first wave retaliation and a couple PoC vehicles at ROSS but what I'm talking about are the ham fans that bitch about wanting a figure but can't manage the money support their hobby so they wait to buy Sweat pants at Ross's and find some damaged figures for 4 bucks.and then rant even more about people being suckers and How dumb Hasbro is. They can go sit on the Devils chubby red dick.
>>
>>5762607
Just because prices have to go up doesn't mean customers will keep paying it, doubly so for novelty goods.

>this blind Hasbro defense

if we were talking about Mattel, you'd be accusing the company if being satan worshippers that do it on purpose.
>>
>>5762620

No the blind Hasbro hatred pisses me. They are a company they make things to sell them to us. but they have to listen to what Retailers wants TRU wants another Joe wave without vehicles Guess we're shelving the vehicles this year.

You don't want to pay for it fine, bitch about it on Hisstank and insult others that do.

But when that totally awesome "Thing" just had to have gets cancelled. Don't start the "woah is me" bullshit.
>>
>>5762637
I haven't collected this piece of shit since Yo Joe banned me a few years back for daring criticize Hasbro for failing to give a fuck that their line was dying. They've put in minimal effort for years and it shows.

For fuck's sake, why did they wait until Renegades was off the air before getting the toys out for it?
>>
>>5762645
Because they had to redesign the toys so Autists wouldn't complain about Snake-eyes not working with their 25th displays. also so they could use finallized designs so that when they did make it out they looked like what was on the screen.

Also did you not listen to the Joe Con Panel Hasbro said. "Joe is the only line that is completely fan driven" if it weren't for the Fans joe would be in hibernation until the HSU Took off. So Hasbro does care but they can't do a lot because of Budget and only being able to put one wave out a year.

But go on about the Big Bad Hasbro and how they don't cater to you personally.

Camera's not behaving right now, but here's a WIP shelf for Samus/Scifi stuff. Nothing too complicated at the moment, trying to figure out something more interesting to pack into the scene.

Doesn't look that grand with such bland sculpting. This is the same body and webgear/accessories as the Captain Action figures and some of the Eagle Force already.

Indeed it is.
>>5764830
Ultra Class Visser 3 from the heaping helping of failure that was the Animorphs toyline. Andalite figures were the only decent ones, with Ultra Visser 3 being able to become a half-assed Andalite, a not-bad Inferno Beast, and the glorious Hork-Bajir form he's in in that photo, not a horrible stand-in for Ridley. I'll try to get my camera to cooperate later.

First one and third look awesome, as if they were from a TV series.

But I just don't like what you did with the middle one, the paint is just so wrong

Cheers lol, the ones you liked have real leather tunic things I fucking sowed together, that was a chore haha.

The middle one was one of the first figs I got, he is weathered with primer, hence the really dark recesses etc. The other two just have a Citadel Shade washes and dry brushing.

Also middle one had a big blue Celtic chest and arm tattoo that's almost all rubbed off lol

Dont feel bad. Shady gets stuff early because he has money and can beat up everyone at boss fight. The fact he does cool customs and takes pics that help sell shit for them is just a bonus.
>>
>>5769092
Buck up, soon enough they'll be there and hopefully you'll be over the moon with the results. They're great figures in spite of their faults.

Truth.

Haha, man I wish I had more money, had to sell half my acid rain collection to get the HACKS!

And I think it was chance my pre order shipped when it did, it was a big order so they probs get those out sooner. Plus I'm waiting on another order now.. Two weeks since I ordered and no movement or notice lel.

Either way, I hope people enjoy my customs and pics enough to inspire them to buy more.. I can't fucking wait for that fantasy series?.. 1:18 Warhammer here we come!

RoC Dialtone (aka Desert Helix) needed no mods to fit nicely.

>>
>>5774538
I agree with this anon >>5774568, the only figure from the initial setup that I found interesting is the Mandrill soldier in your pic.
>>
>>5774498

did you kick up the paint apps on your Dialtone as well.?
And what is the recipe for your Covergirl?
>>
>>5774969

>>Dialtone:

just had a paint wash on the head and neck with the 50th Lady_Jaye webbing slapped on.

>>Covergirl:

made using Retaliation Lady Jaye's torso and legs, the DTC Comic Pack Covergirl's arms and jacket. I had to sand down the shoulder pegs so it could fit in the newer torso. Head was the DTC Covergirl Hair attached to a Star Wars Black Series Mara Jade.

Belt was from a PoC/50th Hawk,

Hope that helps anon.
