Times ToyBiz got it right

I'm a girl btw
>>

That really was a great figure, but the fact that the headsculpt never failed to remind me of a Cro-magnon version of one of my older cousins kinda ruined it for me. Could not unsee cousin John talking in a low calm voice about the importance of churchin' an' studyin' and other uniterestin' things.

I... I just couldn't bring myself to make John-Hulk smash anything. Wasn't in his nature. He always wanted to go to Cro-magnon bible study.
>>
>>5735277
It's a pretty good figure if you can divorce it from modern comparisons and just appreciate it for what it is. If it had good fist hands instead of the clumsy articulated fingers, and the ab crunch didn't feel like it was held together with a rubber band, it would rank much higher in the GOAT Hulk scale.
>>
>>5735277
The articulations look really good but the sculp is weird.
>>
>>5735277
Grey Hulk is my favorite Hulk, and that's my favorite Hulk figure.
>>
>>5735438

Agreed. Getting a kickass Grey Hulk with old-school proportions and a contemplative frown was awesome.

Fuck you right in the ass Mark, I don't care if you are aunt Sarah's kid I don't fucking look like a caveman and I'm not even that religious.

Toy Biz Legends figures will always hold a special place in my heart, god they had so much character to them even if most of them were gangly armed looking weirdos. Hasbro has never knocked it out of the park anywhere near as well as Toybiz did on this Sandman. Fucking oozes style, this guy. 10/10

No ned to limit it to just Marvel. This guy has hands on par with Japanese mecha figures 2 1/2 times its' size and twenty to thirty times the price. Its just that good. And it was $10 at Wal-mart.
>>
>>5737709
Shit, I never knew this existed
>>
The Spider-Man and X-Men Classics sub line had some great figures. Too bad they were pretty hard to find.
>>
This is just one dude, right? One toybiz obsessed due who thinks that toy making technology peaked with toybiz marvel legends and everything since then has been garbage.

It's really weird, this toybiz dude

Still the best after all these years.

Also where did the whole 'it's actually Scott J Campbell' spidey thing start because you'd have to be blind to not see it's a McF head.

I have the Hasbro version. It puts me in an unfortunate in-between of having the mold, so I should be satisfied, but it just feels incomplete. I guess it kinda is more accurate but it desperately needs cleaner paint and some way to have done blue highlights. Maybe a gloss?

It kills me that Hasbro has so many of these molds and just never uses them. So many people would be happy with a greatest hits/reissue line of this stuff, but nope.
>>
>>5737749

Every toy company seems to be stubborn with re-releases and it blows my mind. There's no way they don't see the demand based on the aftermarket value. They could make this fucker online exclusive and ship him in a ziplock bag and they'd still make a killing.

OP here, I have posted two photos. If you're really clever, you might be able to figure out which ones.
>>
>>5737767

They can't win either way. If they did it too much then they'd hear bitching about not making updated figures or just doing endless repaints of old molds.

Its not that technology peaked, there's technically better toys out there, and tech is always increasing. Its just that these figures captured a particular spark that has yet to be completely replicated in the same balance of extreme value, playability, and experience. I'm sorry you missed out.

What's the deal with this figure? I'm not too well versed in Hulk or Spiderman comics, but did Spiderman turn into the Hulk one day or something?
>>
>>5736699
nice dubs, but...

>giraffe neck
>no actual sculpted chainmail
>hinged fingers cause....?
>big fucking hands
>that tiny fucking waist
>those ugly fucking legs
>giant bell-bottoms to tiny feet

yeah sorry anon t hat cap is just an unproportionate mess, the shield is good and the face sculpt itself is probably the best Cap face yet, but everything else is garbage.

Do bootlegs of this mold exist? Because fuck the $200+ price it sells for.
>>
>>5743868

There's the black and red reissue but that actually has different hands and still goes for absurd prices.

Have to go loosey goosey and just decontaminate it and fix loose joints after you get it for now. Although they are getting a little cheaper now because of pizza spidey.

BRB is an awesome character and that figure is the best version out there.

Totally worth it.
>>
>>5751836
Sweet, I think my local comic shop still has it in stock I'll have to stop by there soon.
>>
>>5738715
I only have Onslaught unfortunately. But gooddamn the toybiz BAFs were fantastic. I wish they had done a Devil Dinosaur.
>>
>>5735284
So am I, but wtf does that have to do with the topic?
>>
>>5751833
It's worth it for $10, but it hasn't aged too well. Arm movement is pretty clunky (even though it has butterfly joints) and the proportions aren't as good as they could be.
>>
>>5746550
Same here, only I had both versions. The fucking entire groin on each figure just decided to fall to bits. Bizarre.

Why did toy biz think that those ugly articulated hands were a good idea?
>>
>>5769993
Cutting edge at the time, and they where still kid's toys sold at kids toystores. Swappable hands where nearly uncalled for for kids toys, especially in the west.

It's still cutting edge, but people didn't like it because their own line didn't do it.

Now that Figuarts has articulated fingers, it's going to be considered BESTEST, especially when weeaboo favorite figures start getting them.

>Swappable hands where nearly uncalled for for kids toys, especially in the west
Swappable hands weren't rare back then, but they were uncommon
Lines like GI Joe, He Man, COPS, XMen, Inhumanoids, and others had them
