That is pretty obviously the bath doll line. Since apparently a lot of kids like having a doll as their bath toy? Never understood that myself. In any case, with the full on plastic get ups and the hair material used, it is pretty obvious that line is intended for kids to play with in water.

Is there any official date on when these dolls are getting a wide release? They've been Target exclusive for a few months and you can't find any of them in my area

I think it's incredibly offensive and I can't believe people actually buy into it It blatantly carries the message that girls are only allowed to consume comic material when it’s cutesy and has little to do with actual characters’ stories. They're basically saying girls can't handle comic books.

Did you know they make child friendly versions of comic characters for little boys too?
I bought the Batgirl action figure. She's got pretty whatever articulation, but for a $10 toy I guess it's decent enough. Single jointed knees and elbows, swivels at the boots though. Her hood comes off too, which is kinda nice?
Only got her cause I can't wait for the Burnside Batgirl figure in November...

Amanda Waller is their principal. Gorilla Grodd is their Vice Principal. Crazy Quilt teaches costuming. Killer Frost is head of the Science Club.

Bumblebee is the most little girl friendly, and probably the most well known through Titans. The other big ones are people like Vixen or Steel. Rocket would have been a good choice though.

Ironically DC Superhero Girls has some of the best versions of DC characters we've seen in a long time. They literally have one of the best animated Cheetahs, there's a special where they fight the Female Furies, characters like Hawk and Crazy Quilt show up...
Bottom line is that it's a line for little girls, so of course it's not going to be gritty. But there's a surprising amount of love for the characters the characters the series is based on that shows through, and it seems like it's intended to act as a gateway to the rest of DC.

Of course, the one character I really wanted from the line is an Con LE of some type. This doll is so much better than any other Katana that's going to come out. it's not even funny. Just look at what comes with her it's nuts, she's blinged out like any old fashioned TMNT toy.

If you don't want to shell out for an exclusive she's almost certainly in Wave 2 of the retail dolls.
The website and most promo art puts her with the wave one girls, so she's probably just not in to prevent front loading the line with minorities and lead with the most popular characters.
The website also profiles Cheetah, Star Sapphire, Hawkgirl, Hal, and Beast Boy, so there are some people who think those plus Katana are Wave 2
