intricate sculpting doesn't really account for much with plastic and die-cast, it's too pliable. Statues in museums are stone, plaster, wood and the like because to craft something so detailed without a mistake is what makes it a work of art or showcase of talent.

Barring 1/6 dollies, the old Mezco Hellboy figures are probably amongst the highest quality mass releases I've ever seen. Tight paint apps, insane texturing, intricate minute detailing, and really fucking nice face sculpts that capture the likeness at a level that very few toy companies have managed since.
Maybe also Palisades Muppets.
