Hobbylink is at it again. Anyone wanna talk about deals or ask about sale items?
>>
>>5716736
Tuxedo Mask looks pretty damn good, i might pick that up.
>>
>>5716736
Just another overloaded non-sale from those predictable dolts at HLJ.
>>
>>5716792
Yeah. I have seen anything all that interesting yet
>>
I wasted a ton of time looking through all that shit. Unless you're interested in statues or plushies, the only items I really saw that might be of interest to /toy/ were a few Koto kits (The Etrian Oddysey ones, Pest-X I think, some Pangya), SHF Tuxedo Mask and Chibi Usa, and uhhh some vaguely chibi-proportioned robot figure I forgot about cause I wasn't interested.

Bought the Calne Ca figure I've been looking for. can't wait. I may be tempted to mod it with revo joints at some point.
>>
Nothing worthwhile. The only halfway decent figures were SHF Yoshi, Tuxedo Mask and the QC nightmare SAS Dio with papercraft, but I wouldn't pay for either.
>>
couple decent statues I was thinking about, but didnt want enough to impulse buys.

Didnt really see anything else of interest.
>>
>>5717167
We all do
>>
I saw.... two things that I might just barely consider buying?
>>
>>5717386
Perfectly describes every HLJ sale ever.
>>
Everything that caught my eye was something that I'd already gotten during a previous sale. Here's hoping they add some more interesting shit as it goes on - I'd totally grab a couple of the Love Live Nendoroids if they went on sale again.
>>
>>5718202
I wish I could get into Nendos, but I can't make myself buy any for some reason. Whenever I see one I like, it's from something like a Mobage.

I will absolutely buy Ushio and Tora though, they may be my gateway nendos.
>>
>>5716736

Part 1 is shit, hoping they put the Revo venom snake on a decent sale so I can combine him with the Trunks I have in my PW.

Here's hoping SoC GaoGaiGar goes on sale again

I picked both of them up on Mandarake for 3000yen a few months ago.

They're not really worth it to be honest, unless you really like novelty/meme figures. They're pretty low quality as far as import figures go.

Not that anon, but if you think everyone on this board is equal in terms of dysfunction, you are lying to yourself.
Not everyone "has a problem" because they collect. Telling yourself that everyone is just as bad off as anyone else not only hides the fact that you probably need help, but it also is demeaning to everyone that has their shit together.
Own up to your own problems, and quit projecting them on everyone else.
>>

Really enjoying this sorry page not found. The bubble is a very nice shade of blue and the white text isn't harsh on the eyes.

They're plastic drill halves, you cut them, glue them together and paint them, then put 'em on your toy robuts. No rocket science here fampai.
>and if i need to buy them with another kit?
the obvious choice would be Gurren Laggan kits but those are long out of print

>>5722567
Lots of koto kits half-off, Revos, Macross kits, and the one that hurts the most, the Megahouse partsforming SDF-1 at 40% off, after hlj decided to give no preorder discount. Had to order the lil shit from amiami, still hasn't arrived. Not the kind of thing you'd expect to be put on the sale.

On a funny note, the ever shelfwarming Fuujin kit that was 80% off yesterday got bumped to 50% for the sale.

This is part of the reason their sales suck. No one wants to spend hours digging through a massive catalog of shit that is probably only 5-10% cheaper than it was to begin with, that is to say, 5-10% cheaper than it costs at any other site normally. They need to just list 20-30 items that have actual discounts, like Hobbysearch does. I don't know how HLJ stays in business with their attitude.

Worth a skip my friend, I bought two from a previous sell and the both(Three, but I'll explain) I owned had fucked up shoulder joints.
First:
>Each time you moved it, it felt like you was either going to brake the arm(Left) off.
Second:
>Same as first, but both arms this time.
Talked to HLJ and got one of them switched out, Result:
Third:
>At first it seemed okay, but after trying to pose, the left arm started locking up, and the same problem as the first figure was here.

This and Normal Gills(Overly tight leg joints) were the only Figuarts I owned that had the same amount of problems, after trying different figures.
Also I wish I had passed on the Master Asia I got for $11, because he's the opposite, his joints are extremely loose, making you feel like you're playing with a fucking soft shell tortilla.
>>
>>5723437

Did you have the hurricane blue and yellow set and the gouraigers set and were just waiting for a decently priced red..
>>
>>5723456
Hurricane Red was the only Sentai Figuart I owned, and honestly scared(Stupid I know) me away from the line.
So I can't really comment on Blue/Yellow, nor the Gouraigers.

I bought two for super cheap and in hopes of making one of them into a Hurricane Black, or use it as a Reference Model for drawing, but It didn't work that way.
>>
OK, so, when I placed the order, the Gundam is still In Stock. This was about 3-4 hours ago.

You think I'll still get it or am I fucked? Can I cancel the whole thing if no Gundam?
>>
>>5723459
Private Warehouse?
If so, Contact HLJ Customer Service and ask if you can cancel the whole order, because of "Something unexpected" or on those lines.
>>
>>5723437
You seem to have gotten massively unlucky. My Hurricane Red (as well as all my other SS SHFs) are great.
>>
>>5723462
Well, guess I'll wait for payment request and just tell them I really only wanted it for the Gundam and if it's possible to cancel.

When it comes to customer service, compared to Mandarake, HLJ is a God send(At least for me).

In my experience, HLJ worked with me and helped me when I had an issue.
Mandarake on the other hand, Banned me multiple times because:
>I didn't get an email for my order and asked them for one, They replied with a, "You failed to pay, and you're banned".
>Second time I made a new account just to order something, They Banned me after I asked them to cancel a orde,r because a bill was coming out early.
>Third time I made a new account and shipped it to my friend's. Got my order, but a week later I was banned for having new account.

Japan is surprisingly behind in most tech related fields. Faxing is still the standard.
>>
>>5723977

Burgerlander here.

Faxing is still really common in the Transportation and Medical industries here. I imagine its still common in general in the business world.
>>
>>5724064
Depends on the region. East coast is full of old ladies who still use fax. West coast is full of young little shits who can't live without tech but don't know how to turn a profit on anything without some old white guy(s) guiding the company.

Tempting
>>
>>5724282
What do you recommend then? At the 6 inch scale (I'm not really looking for anything bigger).
>>
>>5724997
NECA 7 inch stuff is good. It's bigger, but only by an inch son.
>>
>>5725012
Thanks for the suggestion. After a bit of comparison I think I'll go with the revo this time since I like the look of the head a bit better than neca.
>>
>>5724165
The articulation isn't great, but it's damn pretty. They used a really nice mixture of translucent plastics to give it this vaguely pearlescent look. Then again, the Alien in the original movie mostly just stood around looking ominous, so I guess it's not like the figure can't pull off any poses from the movie or anything.
>>
>>5725100
Looking at some reviews it seems the biggest hindrance is that spike sticking out the back. Can the head be moved to either side to avoid it? Otherwise the design seems spot on.
>>
>OOO detail of heroes
Why do I actually want this
>>
>>5725114
Yes, to an extent. You can move the head side to side a bit (the sculpt of the neck gets in the way a little), but the space between the spike on the back and the tubes on the back is too narrow to fit the head all the way. The result is that the head can't look up more than about 45 degrees.

If you have billing agreement setup , you can go into your PayPal account and change the Hlj payment agreement to whatever other form of payment connected to your PayPal account . The default is your bank but you can change it to your credit card and it'll stay that way until you change it to something else . I set it to use my credit card on all my pre billing agreements .
>>
>>5726876
From their FAQ

Please be aware that if you have a PayPal Billing Agreement in place you will not be able to pay through the "Checkout with PayPal or a credit card when your order is ready" method even if you select it at checkout.

But it is for people that did not have an active billing agreements. Either way you will still be using PayPal to process those transactions.

Disable billing agreements from PayPal , or change it to use your credit card from your PayPal account
>>
>>5726876
It might have happened to me (there was a weird error message when I logged into paypal) but since I didn't link my bank account to paypal, I'm pretty sure it just defaulted to my card.
>>
>>5727324
Okay, but if they don't have a billing agreement then the "use existing billing agreement" option isn't a real option, either.

All I'm saying is that when you're logged in to your account and have a billing agreement the website is scripted well enough to acknowledge and display your billing agreement number in the top box, it seems a bit silly that they can't be bothered to script the second box to be grayed-out or unusable instead of letting people with an existing agreement select it and check-out as if it's a real option.
>>
>>5727488
Here's an idea: Don't use the billing agreement. If you are too poor to just let it pay for your stuff when you order, you should never have enabled it.
>>
>>5726876

>SHF 2500 yen
I want that bandana man, probably worth it already. But it's the exact same 2500 on amiami, site without sales unless the thing is an extreme shelf warmer. And, it's mar '15 release, but all these sites still have the stock. Which in sum means or not (the new anime in production, the first chapter of the new manga is out) that it will bin further. hmm Not about me being cheap fuck, just it's interesting, how things will work.
>>
So many figmas I want.
>>
How is the Riobot Jehuty? I really like the mech but I already have the Revo version.

>>
>>5730397
yeah most of the stuff on sale isn't really that great of a sale
heck even some of the stuff that is "dirt cheap" was/is cheaper on amiami and still shelfwarming there
>>5730522
they were 2000yen on cdjapan last week before they sold out dude
that's why everyone in the rd general was posting about getting a char awhile back
>>
Eh...some decent sales that even with the crap exchange rate get stuff cheaper than usual but I can't pull the trigger on anything.

Saving all my money for the figma God Hand figures which will probably end up costing $300+ collectively.
>>
>>5730838
>yeah most of the stuff on sale isn't really that great of a sale
There are some excellent deals on stuff that obviously isn't selling. The Kotobukiya Hanged Man Armored Core kit is like 1/2 the price you'll find on comparable sites like amiami. Too bad it has mandatory EMS shipping for a single kit.
>>
Picked up AGP Kongo and a VF-4G (my second!), as the prices are way too good to pass up.
>>
>>5730789
If you are looking for Anubis, Amiami have it for cheaper.
11,050 for new with minor box damage
13,000 for new

So I put these in my cart well over 12 hours ago, specifically the moment part 3 started.

I'm not gonna get that red frame am I, OR will they honor it when its not on backorder?

It was well in stock when I first put it in, its still an open order
>>
So how long does it take for an in-stock order to get moved over to your private warehouse from the processing stage?

I ordered something yesterday.
>>
>>5731193
You'll get it , no worries , the status always show the current status for new orders and not when you placed them . If you place the order when it was in stock then it's already reserved for you .
>>
>all those NECA figures that you can buy on toysrus for like $20 cheaper and with free shipping

I know it's a japanese site for the japanese, but damn.
>>
>aw cool gundam and action figures
>hey i like some of this stuff
>might as well order it
>sitting in cart

apathy is one hell of a drug. good sale though. part 3 is leagues better than one or two.
>>
>>5731438
>>5731193
>If you place the order when it was in stock then it's already reserved for you .
Not necessarily. If it was low on stock it could have been ordered at the same time as someone else. The discontinued thing isn't immediate like AmiAmi, takes 5-10 minutes to update sometimes. I've gotten in an order 3 times or so in the past then had it canceled later. Sometimes the system also glitches and puts discontinued then when you refresh the page it lets you order but there is no stock left.

However, if he ordered it and it went discontinued hours later (or days) then he definitely got it and shouldn't worry since Private Warehouse reflects current stock levels and not the stock for the customer.

Bought MP-10

13k yen, its a steal.
>>
>>5731193
For what it's worth, I was in a similar situation with some of the Kotobukiya joint packs during part two of the sale (put them in my cart the night they went up, didn't check out until the next morning, they'd sold out and hit backorder by then). They still honored the sale price once the backorder came in.
>>
>>5730804
You're not gonna get a ton of crazy poses out of him, and the arms look pretty awkward from some angles, but he's very expressive. I bought him for that price during HLJ's last big sale and don't regret it.
>>
>>5731584
I have no idea, but it looks cool and that's a pretty great price for it.
>>
>>5731612
But why would you import american action figures from Japan to americans for like $20-$40 more then what Americans need to pay? Seriously, most of this NECA stuff is on Toysrus.com or Gohastings.

Dumbass, by the time you pay EMS shipping on that, you could have bought MPP10 and the trailer for it, with a bigger size, improved proportions and fixed joints.
>>
>>5732234
Not him, but not everyone wants a huge-ass Prime that will be even more out of scale with everything.

I wish they would do the same with the proportions on the normal sized OP.
>>
>>5731584
It's pretty good, very similar to those bandai robot Damashii/spirit figures . If you watch the anime and want the mecha figure it was either this or the model .
>>
>>5716764
He's worth picking up. Great figure!
>>
These EMS shipping costs really kill most of the deals. You either have to only buy small enough items to qualify for SAL or buy like $200 worth to get a decent discount over other sites.
>>
>>5732807
Then don't use EMS, and you can order a lot of shit with SAL unless it's model kits or something.
>>
>>5732815
90% of the stuff I want is model kits :(
>>
>>5732820
Shipping is Shipping, there's nothing much you can go around it, especially international. With any international or Online orders, you should always factor in Shipping cost. If you add it up and it's not a good enough deal, then don't buy it.
>>
>>5732234
I'm Canadian, so at 13k yen plus 4.9k shipping, it's a steal.

Now fuck off.
>>
>>5732234
Not everyone wants illegal counterfeits, anon.
>>
>>5733016
Does being Canadian make you stupid, too?
Getting the upscaled MPP10 + trailer costs no more in CAD than what you're citing in JPY no matter where in the world you buy it, idiot.

>>5733019
Then you're a naive, loyal fool. The mold is not a 1:1 copy, it's actually improved, as well as being bigger, and including extra accessories. The plastic, fit, paint, and joints are all way better than the hastak version. Not to mention that each successive release of MP10 the quality gets worse and they drop more paint apps. You're encouraging mediocrity by giving them money for crap products. Free market, bitch.
>>
>>5731193
>>5731438
>>5731512
Read it again. He said he put it in his cart, not that he actually placed the order. In fact he flat out states it's an open order in his post.
If he didn't submit an order, he won't get it. At least until when/if it comes back in stock.
>>
>>5733153

>>
>>5732234
or just not been a faggot and got MP-01 when it came out.
>>
>>5723437
This is actually a pretty common problem with S.H. Figuarts. The solution is actually quite simple and did not require purchase of additional figures. All you had to do was get a piece of bar soap and a needle, gently scrape some soap off with the needle, then apply the soap onto the joint where it was sticking. The soap would act as a lubiricant and the joint would move smoothly again. If you put too much and it becomes loose, just rinse the soap out and wait for it to dry and try again.

I was told alternatively you can use shock grease, but that it's harder to fix if you add too much.

It was in the cart, went through the paypal menus and stuff

Looks like I got them anyway, my guess is they were "bought" but hlj staff were still allocating stock to placed orders, thus why it was still "open order" (as in I placed the order but nothing was paid for yet incase they ran out half way or something).

Thought I'd drop in and give the good news, thanks guys, wonder what tomorrow's update brings.

Please be mp ratchet
>>
>>5733164
I almost typed a similar response, but look at the picture he posted. That's clearly an actual placed order listed in his 'My Account' or 'Open Orders' page, the guy just has his terminology a bit mixed up.

>>5733386
Yeah, that's the normal procedure for most Japanese import shops: place the order to secure the items, then the shop confirms the stock (and calculates shipping if needed, HLJ provides you that info up-front though) and sends you back an invoice to pay.

As >>5731438 said as long as the item was in-stock when you placed the order you'll be fine.

And yeah, I could totally go for a discounted MP Ratchet!
>>
>>5733153
What if I don't want something that big? What if I like the anime proportions of the mp-10? Did you ever consider that I might want the mp-10 or are you one of those bigots that think that the world revolves around your thick head and everything you do or think to do is always the best thing?

Also, regardless of the upscale one being a full on copy or not, it's still an illegal counterfeit of the original. I don't condemn it, but the point still stands.

So stop trying to set fire to every damn post and thread, you uptight cuntfart.
>>
Part 4 sucks, at least I got some good figmas in part 3.
>>
>>5734224
I doubt we will get anything else that's good at this point.

They already have done the big categories. I could be wrong, but the next categories will probably just be statue shit.
>>
>>5734330
They don't put all of one brand into one specific category or day, so you can't say for sure if part 5 is going to be bad. We got a lot of SHF in part 3, but they still put at least one SHF into part 4. There may be something in part 5 worth getting.

The Figma came out at the same time and is of similar quality, the people who weren't sure which one was better just went for their brand loyalty of choice.

Speaking of which, I know it is slightly off topic but I don't feel like starting a brand new thread. How responsible is Manda?

I ordered a used PAK Dante DMC4 figure from them, and it is straight out missing Ebony and Ivory - the two handguns. I don't think it is listed as accessory missing and the accesorries were hidden by the box anyway - not that you could tell that it's missing
