New Onell drop this Sunday:
>Exile Deniken leads a new assortment that will be arriving this Sunday, June 5th at 9:30PM EDT over in our store. We're hustling to wrap up a couple surprises for this wave that might make a few of you old-timers happy.

>Lots of moving parts had to fall into place for this round to finally come to fruition, so we're extra psyched to share the results with you.

>More pics are on deck!

Battle Tribes drop on the June 8th or so, mainly unpainted "Tribe Builder" figures.

Glad to see there's finally another drop. Very interesting what he's saying about it. What do you think that means?

Will it be more cross-figures with mixed mold parts from other Glyos producers? Will it be new molds entirely? Will it be some sort of throwback to one of the earliest drops or colorways? Excited to find out.

And now a new bitch-fest takes hold of the community: Matt not putting up lists because he wants it to be a "surprise" vs. people saying they want to know what's available in advance to budget money/decide if they want to sit in front of a computer at sale time
>>
>>5710941
Oh, people actually miss Govie now? The Govurom heads flowed like water back in the day. I was sick of the damn things, it felt like you'd get one just for showing up to the drop. I sold a big batch of them a while back just to get rid of my excess.

Looks like ZRU colors n the other Pheyden but without detail lines it looks a bit shit. What's the point of adding to former ranks if they stand out like a sore thumb? At least the last time we got updated ZED stuff it was the dark travelers, in their only release to see detail lines.

He made a post early this week showing more retail comic shops carrying his and his friends products. So it appears that his toys are going strong still. Not sure why collectors like to trash successful indy toy creators. Jealousy I guess. I'm just thankful marty puts everything he has into his toy lines and his friends toy lines. More cool and unique toys for me! I just hope he is at designercon again. I missed it last year and my friends that got to go said he is super cool and funny as hell.

Money must grow on trees for you. He just made the giant vinyl beetle at the end of last year. Do you have any idea how expensive these guys costs are to make their toys in the factory? I got an idea, cut these guys cashiers checks to fund your suggestions.

Yeah, I know that's how the usually do it. This isn't my first rodeo. But they haven't been "coordinating/using the same colors in bulk" for the last few waves. Marty ran off a bunch of Kabutos in colors not associated with a Glyos wave. Last Roboforce release Kent put out was the small run of black Zeroid figures not related to a Glyos colorway, back in February. Matt's cranked out 4-5 waves since January.
My point is that supposedly new stuff was going to be out by now, but historically, Kent drags his ass on releasing product.
>>
> Planet Banimon
>Just got confirmation from China that the new wave will be ready by the end of the month, so we're probably looking after the first week of July for the release.

Dull day at work so I decided to finally figure out which of skeleton warriors joints are "Glyos comparable" vs "Glyos like"

I'm sure someone's done it before but here's my list:

>Not compatible
Elbows
Wrists
Ankles

>Comparable
Everything else.
Neck
Shoulders
Middle spine
Pelvis
Hips (surprisingly)
Knees

Shoulders and hips are rather loose. When skeleton is the male end.
>>
>>5751758

>>
>>5754366

>>
>>5754444
Kent is a master of disappointments.
Releases like twice a year, runs a shitty club, doesn't coordinate colors, etc.
>>
>>5754595
Cruel and Brutal shipped in Dec

Nazgar Super Zeroid Black, Assassin in Feb

Hunter and Darkness Soldier in June

Plus two releases from Matt this year
>>
>>5754444
Ecstatic. I bought two Zeroids and one Darkness trooper. I've just rarely seen someone waste a nostalgic property so badly.
Kent is easily the least coordinated, least approachable member of the Glyos group and the one who seems to have the least idea of what he's doing.
Big ideas, poor execution
>>
>>5754629
> two releases from Matt
Can't count those as Kent really had dick-all to do with the Glyos Zeroid/Roboforce releases; All Matt has to do is ask "Hey, Kent? Can I do a run of those molds that I sculpted for you using plastic that I'm footing the bill for? Thanks." In those cases, Kent's not really producing anything
>>
Pretty funny. Kent's personal ball lickers didn't cause a sell out of his candy cane mustache figs. Matt starts posting about his designs for them and bam! Less than 12 hrs they sell out. Dumb fuck!

>>
>>5767801
Oh yeah. Thanks, anon.
>>
I got a question for you guys: How does one get started making these things? Like, how do you get glyos compatible figures made? Because a lot of these shops seem pretty small, like one guy just running a website and selling a few hundred little figures. I assume they must be doing the sculpts and then sending them off to be manufactured somewhere before selling them themselves.

How do you do that? Cause I've been making little figures for myself for a while now and I kinda wanna get a set of these things made and sell them.
>>
>>5770023
Come up with a design, talk to Matt, prototype it out, and have at least $10k to 15k to part with from start to production.
>>
>>5770091
Seems like a lot for what it is. Do you know anything about the processes used or how its manufactured? I ask because the Glyos part is interesting but I'm more just interested in how all these little groups seem to be manufacturing figures.
>>
>>5770107

It seems like exactly what it is. Making this stuff ain't cheap, homey.
>>
>>5770163
Eh. The plastic in bulk is cheap, the machines exist, they're just injecting plastic into a mold. The thing you tend to pay for is the effort of the makers. You could get a few hundred figures made for a few hundred bucks, but no factory is gonna want to make a few hundred, not when they could be running the line to make 50,000. You pay them for their time.

I was just wondering if these guys had found some way around that since they seem to be doing small batches.
>>
>>5770107
>>5770179
Did you know that tooling steel molds is very, very expensive in and of itself? This is one reason why companies are so wild about mold reuse--it helps recoup the high cost of cutting one in the first place. And trust me, in the Glyos world, nobody is doing "small batches." Maybe small batches at a TIME, but those molds are gonna be run for years and years to come in various colors, which as I just stated, helps eventually pay for itself.

If you can't afford injection molding in China like all the big guys, you can do one-off resin or polyurethane casts at home. It's cheaper and more accessible, but takes more work on your part.

And no, they haven't found some secret workaround. Matt and co pay the high prices just like anyone else. This is why it's a big deal to get new production PVC figures--a LOT of the third party Glyos community is still toiling away in resin because they can't afford to make that jump.
