Oh man nice a second wave of Xmen! Keep em coming and hopefully we can get a domino redo in a future wave
>>
Most of this wave will be a pass for me. I'd say there's an 80% chance Cyke and Logan will be in their 90's costumes. Hasbro has already shown 90's Cyke love in the Marvel Universe line and they know the demand is there. All they'll have to do is make shoulder pads for Wolverine and they'll get to reuse the new mold right off rip. I'm also betting Collossus will be classic since they'll be able to re-use at least the arms and legs for Scorpion. Hoping he'll be Hyperion sized.
Please let Apocalypse be the BAF.
>>
>>5700767
Shit I didn't want to start collecting Legends again but Kitty and Rogue have got me interested and now this?

>>5697273
Modern comics are written with the idea in mind that they'll take six issues and reprint them in a single book.
So we've only seen 1/6th of the story so far.

Found this in a secondhand store today for about $8. Didn't buy it because I'm not a Punisher fan plus I wasn't sure what it was worth.

Is it worth going back and getting to resell (looks like it's going for anywhere between 70-90)? I'm honestly not sure about Punisher merch since I rarely see it.
>>
>>5701303
Sure.

Someone's bound to buy it, what with the introduction of Frank into the MCU if they're not comic fans. $8 isn't that much if you can't sell it in the end. Also, what's the condition- will it be able to sell?
>>
>>5701244
If that doesn't come with an alternate head I'll pass. But if it DOES have the iconic Venom head this could be fucking awesome

Good line up but where are the villains? I guess Polaris and Sunfire could be villains depending on which outfits they make the characters in.

Colossus though seems like a waste since there isn't a buck that they could use to do him justice. Even the Hyperion buck is too small.

Can I start praying now for the BAF? Pic related.

apply a little bit of acetone to it with a q-tip in a gently circular motion. it will sort of "pull" the blue paint over the blank spot. i had to do it with my marvel now cap and it worked like a charm

Problem with Polaris is that while there is variant potential in doing her in her Malice outfit, it's not her iconic costume.

Best bet for Lorna would be to put her in either her Joe Quesada costume (preferably her Gold/Red version, not the later Gold/Blue recolor) or if the sake of cheapness, putting her in the god-awful Larry Stroman outfit.

Sunfire meanwhile will be his classic look cause they already did his AOA costume as a mail-in figure.
>>
>>5702475
>variant potential in doing her in her Malice outfi
holy shit I want a figure of this
>>
>>5702475
They'll use the Strenako/first appearance costume for Lorna because it's the only one that does not bait people into demanding shit.

Do Malice possessed Lorna and you'll get people demanding the rest of the Marauders.

Do X-Factor Lorna and soon people will be demanding X-Factor Havok, Wolfsbane, Multiple Man, and Strong Guy.

Strenako Lorna won't lead to people demanding more and more obscure shitty characters for a sub-line (X-Men Marvel Legends) that already has shit distribution and super-dupe ultra-low production run issues, on par with the convention shit you see at Botcon/Joecon. Especially when there are a ton of other characters that need figures made before fucking Multiple Man or Scrambler
>>
>>5702482
Different Malice.

X-Men Malice is an evil necklace that possesses people (Dazzler, Lorna, Havok, Omega Sentinel, Siryn).

FF Malice is Sue Storm's Nazi alter ego created by Hitler and Psycho Man.
>>
>>5702486
Don't be a fucking debbie downer.

Just because the last two X-Men Marvel Legends waves had god-awful distribution and really small production runs, doesn't mean they'll do that again for these two waves. They aren't THAT stupid and vindictive, right?
>>
>>5702491
They will. Because they are THAT petty.

Marvel is currently planning to flat out GENOCIDE the X-Men and banish what few characters they don't kill, to another universe as their big fall storyline.

Also, they have made it clear that they don't give a shit about X-Men fans; they want to force everyone to buy Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy/Spider-Man shit instead.

A third of these two waves are inventory figures (especially if the Cyclops figure turns out to be the Phoenix 5 Scott that was planned but spiked at the last minute). And they don't want these fucking things on the shelves, in large numbers in all the major chains, because they are too busy fucking trying to brainwash everyone and their mother, into thinking Avengers and GOTG and Spider-Man are their only major comic franchises.

nonsense. People have been claiming that Marvel's gonna wipe out the X-men for years, but Marvel keeps putting out new X-Men comics. Hell, they undid that stupid M-Day bullshit so that new mutants can show up. They brought back the old X-Men and had an event just to show off that they were staying around. They've doubled the number of Wolverines, made an ongoing Deadpool/Sperman team up book, and so on.

And now they're doing two whole waves of nothing but X-Men, in a toy line that's only had one shitty X-Men wave so far

Marvel isn't going to kill your precious X-Men any time soon

I'm fine with one at the hip, but balljoints at the torso almost always suck. The range is very limited unless you use a barbell-style double balljoint and are very careful about the sculpt tolerances. Which, let's be real, Hasbro would never do. They just don't give enough of a shit. If anything, they're shove in a single balljoint that gives you barely any wiggle room and call it a day. So basically, I'm willing to stay with this ugly torso articulation, since at least it allows for decent movement. I don't see Hasbro starting to care anytime soon, so this is fine for now.

A bunch of 6" swords fit well into his hands. The two in the pic are from transformers, but I also had him with revoltech raiden's sword and the katana from the 1/144 barbatos kit.

That's a shame, as the juggernaut wave is a pretty stellar lineup. Unlike Wave 2 where there are more figures I would be buying just for the BAF part.
>>
>>5703353
Wow uhhh...yeah that's okay I guess.
If we weren't spoiled by the Select Juggs I think we'd be more receptive to this.

Unless it's somehow so much more articulated that it makes the Select one look like a statue in comparison, as is the case with the Legends and Select Venoms, I really don't see anybody preferring this one.
>>

No doubt it will do that but every other way it will be inferior. The select has minimal articulation to begin with. It has POA but most arn't that useful to begin with.

I agree a lot of ToyBiz Legends had articulation for the sake of putting a sticker on the box that says "OVER 40 POINTS OF ARTICULATION" but I think for Nightcrawler you really need those joints.

>>

Its a two-way street. Disney makes all the heroes and villains resemble their comic forms to be able to sell people comic or movie versions in toy form.

Fox doesn't give a shit if you buy any x-men toys, thus they don't give a shit if their characters look like the comic versions.

Some tinfoil wearers will tell you fox does this on purpose. They avoid accuracy to keep disney from benefiting, it's basically free brand recognition for them. So Fox gives the villains and women more outlandish comic book style costumes and the male heroes simple ones, cause they know they usually don't make villain or girl toys anyway.

Aren't the shitty (non) costumes just Bryan Singer being ass-stupid about things? First class did a bang up job with homaging the classic x-school uniforms. Deadpool is dead accurate to the books for him Colossus and the new mutants uniform. Even in Apocalypse, Bryan tries (and fails) at incorporating some Jim Lee era costumes at the end.

Fox is too stupid to be playing strategy at this level. Their last bright idea was to steer the entire x series towards Hungry Games.

But Ms. Marvel has both diversity and good writing
>>
>>5704760

Bryan Singer decides a lot, but Fox corporate still gets to send shit down the pipeline. Whether Singer wanted to or not, Mystique and Quicksilver had to be featured in Apocalypse. 2010 was a different time than 2015, when they were making these movies. Disney had IM and TIH in 2010, they didn't convince the world they could make movies. In 2015, it was Disney joint and they kept making hits.

This type of thing DOES happen in the corporate world. Petty, no free advertising. We'll see what happens going forward. Fox didnt care about deadpool and kept slashing it's budget. They care too much about x-men and meddle in it all the time. They're not too stupid to keep iconic imagery out of their films. They're about x-men FILMS and that brand needs to be defined in it's way, fox probably mandated the black costumes, because it's what their brand has established.

Ask Hasbro. Retailers can't post pics if the company doesn't provide them.

It's pretty obvious, but has anyone noticed when a new wave is announced with quite ambiguous characters that haven't been in the limelight for a while, it's usually an indicator that they're gonna be in the MCU. Like with Hellcat and how Patsy was in the show. Also with Nuke, Hela (whose showing up in Thor: Ragnarok) and Mockingbird who was in AoS. Also, in the upcoming cap wave there's a new Captain Britain. He's an odd choice for a figure now. Is he going to be in the MCU?

They've done in the past for the Hydra and AIM soldiers. They were split cases of 4 of each in the case. The problem with the case was that it was made available almost 6 months after the wave was released. Most army builders, already bought extras by the time Hasbro got around to doing the special case.
>>
>>5705879

I wasn't aware they did that, that's cool. Silly it only comes with the 1 BAF part. It should come with none or the whole BAF. Also its split. Thats probably hard to tell what people wanted, Hydra or AIM. I think SHIELD agents have more immediate demand too. I dont know about needing 8, but Id love 4.

Rhino though has a better sculpt than the select and better articulation. Plus it's got an alternate head. The Select is also too large compared to Legends figures. The only thing the select has over the Legends BAF is it's weight. Like all of the larger Selects, it's a rock.

However, at the same time, I don't really have a need for any of the figures. I wouldn't mind having all of them, especially the spiders to add to my spider collection. I'll never complain about more Spider-women either.
