Also, I can find Groove and Wreck-Gar pretty damn easily just about anywhere

I just pre-ordered him from BBTS. It's overpriced as fuck but I don't have to try chasing him down 24/7.

you faggots are the reason they mark it up in the first place.
>>
>>5694604

Nah. $5-7 markup I can handle. Thats not buying a sandwich for lunch one day.

But those fuckwads selling him for $40+? I'd just say fuck it and let it rot and go Grooveless.
>>
>>5694604
Dude they've been selling out in seconds everywhere. It's between paying a little more, staying up for weeks straight refreshing every online store, or not getting it at all.

The only reason BBTS has it at all is because the markup keeps scalpers from grabbing them all.
>>
>>5694588
>It's overpriced as fuck but I don't have to try chasing him down 24/7.
When did $7 over retail become "overpriced as fuck"?
>>
>>5694618

I'd call anything at near 50% markup over the usual price "overpriced". It's not expensive in the grand scheme of things, but it is overpriced when compared to any other MSRP Deluxe.
>>
>>5694622
Especially with it being a really simple deluxe.
>>
>>5694618
It's the price of a voyager dude. Don't pretend it's not overpriced.

I mean I get why it's priced that way and I'm still buying it, but I'm not going to delude myself into thinking I'm not overpaying. I'm just overpaying for a ton of peace of mind and saved time.
>>
>>5694622
>but it is overpriced when compared to any other MSRP Deluxe.
It IS an online exclusive for us. Not to mention how fast it's selling out everywhere.

Just one of those things I never understand about the fandom. Yeah, I get not wanting to pay more than retail, but if you REALLY want it, then seven extra bucks is no big deal.

Just all reminds me of Master Fwiffo back in the Prime First Edition days carrying on and constantly whining about not being able to buy the toys despite being around online. The months long of constant whining was energy that could have been better spend just breaking down and ordering from eBay or something.
>>
>>5694614
>or not getting it at all.
Honestly? That sounds the most sane, he's not a great toy and has more issues than most.
The only reason he is so sought after is sour grapes from November.
If he was a normal release I wager he would have glutted shelf space with Streetwise.
>>
>>5694631
>price of a voyager
That's not helping your case considering voyagers are bigger and usually mean more engineering as well.
>>
>>5694635

Honestly, I want him more to use as a prop motorcycle for other figures. I wasn't buying a UW Defensor just for him, either.

Even Break Neck and Sunslinger had a spell where they were going for retail price steadily with no instant demand, I got an extra of each because of it. Yes it shit back up but a lot of people got him cheap that didn't bite the bullet and payed 7+ extra because they feared never getting.
Groove here?
He's gonna glut space. He is showing stupid high demand and they will meet the print where it's online store fronts rather than brick and mortar stores that have to have room to begin with.
Also with the fresh hot shit of Titan Returns being less than a month away, Combiner Wars as a whole is going to take a dive in value for a while just like the thrilling 30 guys before them. and where Groove is in his own case of 6 he is going to get hit hard in value for awhile.

I mean it's cool that you think that, but how's have no reason to assume that it WILL be dropping past what it already has. We have no dates and no communication from the company.
>>
>>5694658

Yeah, but this one is also in the aesthetic I like (ie: not animated/prime/movieshit/rid stylized stuff) and also goes with the other CW figures I own.

He's going to be pulling triple duty as a prop, figure in his own right, and a combiner limb.
>>

>you wait for the drop.
I'm perfectly willing to spend seven extra dollars to get him and be sure and not worry about possibly missing out and paying extra down the road.

I skipped Wildrider and Slingshot because I was planning on getting the Takara sets. I eventually decided against that because they were not really worth it to me, and by that point the Hasbro releases had gone too far in price for me.

I never intended on getting Takara's Defensor because I don't really want him. I'm getting rove though because I like how it looks and had Groove as a kid so a having a rare proper update is nice.

"The evil pizzas were no match for a simple stoplight!"
>>
>>5694662
It's true, you have no dick.
I'm not shooting in the dark here, this happens with every western TF toy series. The new stuff pops up, the old stuff specifically the stuff months and up before it take a hard dive in value including exclusives because people want the new stuff. And the communication is written on the walls, you would not put up August/October pre-orders unless you had confidence from your distributor that they were coming in.
I'll eat the crow if I'm wrong but it's been 6 for 6 since I watch these habits in the TF market happen and so far things take a pretty hard dive that first year they get replaced by the new line if they are not a convention exclusive but even then some of those do take a dip. Will it climb back up? Absolutely but unless you are flighty with your desires you will catch those toys you wanted for a good price without having to stay up at 4 am.
>>
>>5694681

Still waiting for UW Devy to drop like a rock.

Or, failing that, CW Devy to hit $50. He was at $90-ish last Xmas...
>>
>>5694692
>Still waiting for UW Devy to drop like a rock
did you miss the "western TF toy series" or were you serious? Easter TF toys stuff doesn't usually lower in value f it's exclusive or a know character and not an OC thing. Most of that is due to the genuine lower print run and limited access to western markets since it's literally an eastern market focused toy line.

>Or, failing that, CW Devy to hit $50.
That is a tad unrealistic however he has dip to $100 a few times in the last 3 months so I can see it drop back close to that a little bit before fall.
>>
>>5694681

Well good luck with that, kiddo.
>>
>>5694709
I've had plenty of luck already. I got Groove off the original $ 16 amazon listing so I'm in no need for more but when he drops back to that or less I'll grab another.
Im not trying to upset you anons I just get really frustrated when I see the same mistakes happen over and over again.

>>5694713

Damn. What a good idea.
>>
>>5694548
I bought him at scramblecore. I feel for anyone who got stuck having to get him from big bad toy scalpers.
>>
>>5694728
What are you talking about? I said I was lucky because that's what you tossed at me.
An anon link it here a few generals ago I follow the link and place and order.
I had luck and I bragged
And Im not telling you anything, you already made your choice, I'm just sharing that he wikll more than likely be back to that price or cheaper within the next few months. Titan Returns is going to make a lot of changing hands. Groove is literally the flavor of the month. The demand will drop but the supply was there
>>5694736
For starters Soundwave was a TRU exclusives tied to one storefront and that front had brick and mortar stores to stock and distribute the toy. Some places did get a glut of him while others got one shipment. He was not an online exclusive like groove that any store front can open an order to get
Unless you are talking the Takara one which I already shared the eastern market doesn't work like that over here.

>Did he ever get relisted in bulk again?
That hardly relates to my bigger point that was aimed at Groove specifically. A toy that is popping up on several sights and has Preoders as late as October. Soundwave didn't get that because -again- he was to a single store.

You claim I'm talking out my ass when you are clearly doing a mix of moving the goal post and grasping at straws.
>>
>>5694754
Preorders get cancelled all the time. We were told the toy would release in May. Until official word is released pretending that it's actually coming out in October is just wishful thinking.
>>
Fuck me, it seems like I actually DID manage to snag one of the Entertainment Earth CW Groove figs before it sold out. Unless EE somehow shipped the wrong thing, I just got an email with my FedEx shipping code for it. I'll keep you all posted if it turns out to actually BE him and post my thoughts on the figure in general when it gets here.

Meantime, good luck to everyone else trying to get him.
>>
>>5694759
By your logic I could say it's wishful thinking to think he won't drop in price soon.
I get it, you stake your claim you paid extra because a fear that he might not drop but I will stand by what I said, I believe he will drop again, he will become more available and for a decent window any one that wants him for under $20 after shipping will get their chance.

As stupid as it sounds I was relieved when I heard Groove was going to be online distributed because that was a ensured shot at me getting more of that mold with no stress of having to store hunt and stress about if a store was even going to get it. And the online fronts of those store's exclusives are nightmares, TRU does one per exclusive and you are lucky they do a second run online. Target lists them but never offers them. I think Walgreen's is the only store that has an online stock that restocks regularly.

Almost to my chagrin, I've actually grown to like TFP Abominus over time. The individual bots are fun, especially Blot and Hungrr, but with a little reworking their combined mode is actually pretty ok. You can use the arms' waists as elbows and, while not really knee articulation, you get some like bent leg and foot articulation with Blot and Rippersnapper. He's just growing on me I guess.

>>
>>5695332
>Was anything mentioned about starscream/alexis in energon and cybertron?
No. If you were a robot in Energon you either got no character development at all, or got some which was then cancelled out by mindwiping.
>>
>>5695360

I really wonder what they're gonna remold CW Shockwave as. You know they're gonna, the mold is too good to not reuse.
>>
>>5695337
>>5695359

The reason for this is that in the Original Japanese version of Energon (Superlink) the Starscream is not the same Starscream, he's Nightscream and I believe he's a clone or a zombie.

if anyone ever wondered why Armada Galvatron became Energon Megatron and that didn't make any sense, in the original Japanese version Armada Megatron never renamed himself Galvatron and in Superlink he became Galvatron there hence the homage in design.

TLDR - Takara did things different than Hasbro had in mind and the ADR (dub) script writers were puzzled as fuck to what was happening.
>>
>>5695389
>Takara did things different than Hasbro had in mind

It's not even Takara to blame but rather Takara's marketing branch. The Takara toy designers were wating the Omnicons to be evolved Mini-cons but marketing royally screwed that idea over.
>>
>>5695389
>>5695389
Wait, so the japanese ones were actually related? I remember hearing that in the originals the series were totally unlinked [besides the human cameos or whatever]
>>
>>5695393
>Omnicons to be evolved Mini-cons

Oh yeah I remember reading about that.

It's a shame, since that's a really cool idea.
>>
>>5695394

Armada/Micron Legend and Energon/Superlink.

Yes

Cybertron/Galaxy Force, No....well not initially, it wasn't till like the end of the series they decided eh fuck it let's fit it in to the previous series somehow?

I mean Takara insists Car Robots is some how G1 related or that originally Animated was going to be a prequel to the live-action movies.
>>
>>5695394
That's just for Cybertron/Galaxy Force.
>>5695389
>It's a popular rumor that the Starscream who appears in Super Link (the Japanese version of Energon) is not the original, but a clone. Popular, but entirely wrong. Although not explicitly referred to with the name "Starscream" in dialogue, he is identified as one of Megatron's former soldiers, randomly given a new name by Alpha Q, and things just roll on from there without a backward look.

in order to explain why people dont talk about Brimstone to the anon above, i mentioned that his box didnt say ROTF on it, so people might not remember him as being part of that line, not talking about him much as a result

>I don't think he came out at RotF though

>>5696159
>came from the 2010 line
That's trying to say it wasn't from RotF/or a movie line

>>5696163
Assured that it was from that

>>5696169
>doesn't seem so

>>5696178
Proves that it was from the movie line which was RotF.

Probably because Blaster is big and he'd also can double as a base mode.

This conversation is not worth having anymore, neither of us is making good use of their time right now.

Let's cease this discussion, please?

>Make a post about a really cool scout class I want people to appreciate more
>Get the line it came from sorta-wrong on a weird technicality
>It descends into this

I, I just wanted to show brimstone some love guys
>>
>>5696238
It's not your fault that the guy doesn't want to admit to being wrong.
>>
>>5696238
It's okay anon.

I almost got him at a con, but one handlebar was broken off. Bummer. He's still on my purchase list.
>>
>>5696231
Not a mod, so fuck off.
>>
>>5696253
He is really worth the pick-up, he might not be the most poseable scout ever but he's got a lot of weirdness to his posability that really makes it work anyways
>>
>>5696250
why is it so important that one of us have to be wrong? we're talking about fucking children's toys here dude, not political ethics

i was just telling you my point of view, man. what is wrong with you?
