There's nothing wrong with grimdark as long as it's written (and acted) well. TDK trilogy got rave reviews and made WB a shit ton of money, so of course they'd try to replicate it's successes. Problem was Snyder's no Nolan as evident by the clumsy way he handled BvS (which really wasn't all that complicated).
Ayer, on the other hand, actually seems like a competent director that knows how to handle a large cast of characters so I'm optimistic for Suicide Squad.

Plus this is a Mafex of a realistic human person, so I'll eat my own arms if it actually looks this good in-hand. Say what you will about SHF, but between Jedi Luke, Bruce Lee and Mace Windu they seem to have a process nailed for getting a likeness that matches their prototypes.

It's okay, but not that great and it wouldn't surprise me if the final product turns out exactly as pictured, which isn't exactly the best thing either since it's not even perfect. Also looks like the Mafex could use some extra eyeshadow as weird that may sound.
So, tangential here. Any opinions on Batman's? I can't decide between the Mafex Dark Knight Rises one and the Figuarts Injustice one. I think I prefer the body and cape of the Mafex but the head on the Figuarts. Also I imagine the Figuarts is sturdier.

But fuck, I'll never understand why they felt the need to turn Harley into a meth addict prostitute and the Joker into her slugged up pimp. The try-hard grit is just ruining the DC movies for me. Both figures' height seem to be around the same (16 cm) so she might be a little too tall especially since Margot Robbie is 5'5 while Ledger was nearly 6'1 if we're going by their real life heights.

I have the the dark knight version and he can't really do anything besides stand.
The coat is kinda flexible but it's so long that it doesn't really allow for many dynamic poses.

The Mafex can have a few QC issues. The 2nd release has an articulated soft goods cape which is excellent. Overall, a solid figure.
Figuarts is top notch when it comes to 1:12 stuff. However, I can't believe they chose the Injustice design out of everything they could've done. Also, the standard head paint apps are kind of lacking and detail and kind of drab. The cape is also a mess. It's articulated hard plastic. Doesn't look good at all.
The only advantage it has is the Figuarts sturdiness and quality.

This sold me on it immediately. Thanks for the input though. Probably the better plan in the long run as I already have the Joker and It's not a Mafex but I have a BatPod that's the right size for 6" figures I picked up at a resale shop.
