I've been out of the toy loop for a few months. Ever since the SHF ROTJ Luke was just about to be reissued. Now, I really want to get it.

Is there a chance of it being reissued again, or should I just bite the bullet and pay $70 for it on Amazon? Any other sites that have it for cheaper, maybe?

>>
What makes Mafex Vader the best Vader? I'm considering getting him.
>>
>>5688959

They're all a little bit shit so it's just kind of a matter of deciding which one is the least shit to you.

Black Series is just straight up garbage

Figuarts is too short relative to any other 1:12 SW figures and has weird proportions and a fixed pose cape

MAFEX has different weird proportions, and something about the helmet makes him look like a weird baby head wearing and adult's helmet

The Bandai model kit is a model kit and has a lot of things that are a bit lacking because of it but probably has the best looking proportions and sculpt. It's the only one that particularly nails the helmet sculpt.

Revoltech is kind of fun but has a really weird cape and sort of just weird everything
>>
>>5688959
Best proportions, best cape, best articulation, comes with a metric fuckton of hands, it's the only Vader that comes with the full helmet head, the unhelmeted but still masked head, and the fully unmasked head. It's also waaay cheaper than the other imports (it was $32 from AmiAmi when I got mine).
>>
>>5689040
Just to clarify the fully helmeted head isn't a seperate head sculpt from the other two, the helmet itself is a seperate piece that can be removed leaving only the mask and back of his head.
>>
Are there bootlegs of Mafex Vader? I was going to save $5 and get it on Amazon.
>>
>>5688992
>MAFEX has different weird proportions, and something about the helmet makes him look like a weird baby head wearing and adult's helmet

It's the face, it's too small.

Also the chest section with the silver stripes is too long.

But overall I'd still say it's the best 1/12 scale Vader.

The model kit would win hands down... if it wasn't a model kit, but it is, so as a figure, Mafex wins.
>>
>>5689095
No
>>
Model kit has an atrocious looking cape.

>>
>>5689136
How do you like the Black Series Palatine there? How does he look with the blue lightning effects?
>>
>>5687861
Honestly if you want it, just go for it. I just got him off amazon last week after lurking mandarake since HLJ fucked up their preorders for the reissue, and he's pretty good. There are a lot more limited joints than I was expecting, ie, his hips shoulders and ab crunch, but he's still far and away the best 6" luke. Unless you're cool with the ANH version coming out soon, he's your best bet.
>>
>>5689136
What do you replace the Cape with
>>
>>5689250
I agree 100%. FYI SHF Jedi Luke is on Mykombini for around $65 or something like that
>>
>>5689173
As a former owner of that figure: If you want a 6" scale Palpatine, just get it. You're not likely to find another line making him anytime soon.

Pose him molesting Kylo.

How's the paint on these? I've been buying x-wing miniatures recently because they're insanely detailed for their size, but they're also expensive as hell.
>>
>>5689835
The paint is as plain as can be.
It's basically micro machines quality but blown up 2 times.

the XWing miniatures are the best you can get.

If you want slightly better than Hot Wheels crap, you should look up the Wizards of the Coast starship battles sets. They can look very warped though, but the details and paint job are great.

Also, candy toys exist. Furuta made some really good ones.

Hey guys I guess I'm in a bit of a jam here and would like some help... I suffer from crippling OCD and have an overwhelming need to keep everything in its right place.

Which brings us to the problem in question. Only after I setup my biker scout did I have the sudden realization that I had in fact opened the wrong side of the box, pic related it's the left side of the box from the front.

It then occurred to me that I had no idea what the proper directions for the plastic tray and instruction booklet to face were!

I discarded the plastic bag that holds the stand's base too! Do I just put it back in the box loose when I'm not using it?

Look, I just need some peace of mind here. If you're still reading this then please answer my questions... Please I just need some simple, clean, and clear answers here!

1. When facing front and inserting the plastic tray into the box in which direction should the biker scout's head be pointing left or right?

2. When facing front which side of the display stand base should be facing upwards, the top of the bottom?

3. When facing front in which direction should the instruction booklet be facing and which side should be up?

Look I tried to make these questions as detailed as possible to avoid any confusion. If anyone here could provide instructions or images showing the proper way to package the figuarts biker scout then that would be great! Please be understanding, I gotta keep everything in its proper place!

R2 needs paint. The decals are absolute garbage because they are meant to go on protruding surfaces and don't stay in place because their edges are larger than the area they're meant for.

Ended up getting silver paint for his dome (nude it's silver swirly plastic) and some jem stickers for his "eyes". I'd also recommend getting a lining pen to bring out all his detail. Either that or invest in a gray wash session.

Went to a con today and picked up my first Ultrasaber. It's the green saber in pic related. It's the Arbiter, with a 36in heavy blade for fighting. My roommate got one too and we have been messing around with dueling and shit. It's pretty fun actually. He got a red Sith style saber. The blue saber is my Force FX Black Series ANH Luke Skywalker saber. While the blade is nice and bright on it it's not as bright as the US. I might get a Saberforge next, I've heard good things about them.

ultrasabers have the brightest LEDs, saberforge has some cool hilts but the brightness is different from ultrasabers

whats the catch? that looks like a hot toy, the detail is too good. Is it 6 inches tall?
>>
>>5713524
then who was phone?
>>
>>5714315
All the Bandai character models 6 inches so they mix well with Black Series. Only catch is you build it yourself (not hard), and it'll feel lighter in hand than a action figure. Otherwise the articulation and sculpts are beyond phenomenal, especially for the price.

all of them need paint.
They look a cheap Jazwares toy without it and the stickers looking cheap as fuck. Even waterslides can look bad, especially on weirdly sculpted figures like the Stormtrooper
>>
>>5714333
Anyone with 5th grade paint/panel lining ability can make do without stickers on these kits for the most part. The Stormtrooper in particular is the easiest to build and looks great out of the box.

Fairly tiny as you can see with it next to a 3.75" and 6" Boba.

It's from the Disney Store set of non-poseable figures they released in 2014, I think. They released one set for each OT movie (the ESB set was the best by far, in my opinion), and they have a TFA set out now along with a set that includes some figures from the OT sets (though carbonite Han isn't included with that set).

The 3.75" Black Series carbonite Han is nice too though, and that's pretty readily available. I have it and I like it, but you can't stand it up because its edges are slightly angled.

There isn't one.
Some might tell you the Elite Series die cast but it's total garbage.

tl;dr

Wait for the black series or figuarts.

Except for the clunky looking block hands and the fact that you have to paint it yourself to make it look good.

Mafex is the best 1:12 Vader figure.

Bandai model kit is the best... model kit?
>>
>>5732280
I mean, yeah, work is involved, I never denied that. Mafex is a great option for those without the time or patience to bother with painting and working on the model.

I still believe the model is superior to the Mafex once the worked on. It just looked too skinny, and Mafex figures have been prone to getting loose joints over time.
>>
>>5732280
you just have to paint his chest box really but yeah.
>>
>>5732292
>>5732316
Collecting toys is not synonymous with model kit building.

If you're someone with no model building or painting experience, that adds a lot of extra of time/effort/money on what should be a simple purchase.

The Revoltech is ugly, Figuarts is too short, Black Series is a sad walrus.
Mafex is the lesser of all evils.

Steering people towards the model kit isn't helpful, especially when you're telling them to buy the black series anyways just for the cloth cape.

Hasbro should be fucking ashamed right now. The entire line is shelf warming aside from a couple figures that are being scalped to hell and back. What's their solution? Release a 5 pack for 25 dollars to get Rey. They are fucking retards, the solution is as simple as loading Rey 6 per case when Force Awakens launched. How fucking stupid do you have to be to not realize she is going to be the most popular character?

The Target near me stocked up on 4th Friday and all the Reys and Phasma were scalped at midnight. I predict the entire line to disappear or shelf warm with no updates due to awful sales until the next Star Wars movie releases and they can fuck it up again.
>>
>>5732351
That anon already had the model kit and built it, that's why I suggested getting the BS for the cloth.

However, if someone asks about the best 6 inch Vader available, I always say Mafex, but I still mention the model kit. I was recommended these myself, and I had a lot of fun with the experience, which then led me into model building entirely as a new hobby. So I don't advocate getting it over the Mafex, I simply mention that imo it comes out as a more satisfying piece than the Mafex if someone is interested and willing to indulge in it.

He's nice. I only got him to go with ahsoka, but he ended up being the better toy by far. He's got pretty solid joints with good range (except those goddamned elbows), nice paint and sculpt, and good, if rubbery accessories. He feels a lot like old han, if that means anything to you. He's also surprisingly tall.

Hey all you gay faggots, I found an old box of star wars toys I had as a kid, reckon they're worth like a couple of bucks?

They're all unboxed obviously because I was a little shit who had no idea they would age like wine

Those Power of the Force figures aren't worth shit, don't bother.

Star Wars figure newfag here. What's the best Yoda in terms of sculpt and articulation that would fit 1:12 scale?

I was looking into the black series one, but I don't like the hair and sideburns. I also hear the articulation is shit with no wrist swivels.

I was considering grabbing one from the vintage collection.

Black Series is literally your only option. Vintage Collection is way too small.

I will pay you to take my potf figures away

Shit, I was afraid of that. Thanks, anon. Maybe I'll try my hand at repainting the head or something.
