Looks like Char's Z'Gok is confirmed to not be the only new RD on display.
Hopefully it will be more than just the GM.

Some quickie comparison pics between the 1/144 Super HCM Pro Zaku II and the ANIME RD.

>>5665170
Sorry for the late response, anon! My Zaku is pretty tight overall, but I definitely know what you're talking about with the soft-click in the knee joint. I can feel two small bumps in the upper part of each knee's double-joint when moving it. Doesn't really affect the articulation though, I can move the knee without any real limitations, there's just that bump when I move the joint over them.

Always liked the sculpt of the Super HCM, but I never noticed how segmented it looked with the gaps in the skirt armor and the heavy panel lining. Much prefer the overall proportions of the RD, and the headsculpt in particular is a big improvement.

>>5666201
Good to hear the OZ army was saved, incomplete though it may be. And man, you and your symmetry, haha.

Please share some thoughts on the Alter Savages when you get the chance! Worth the $150 a pop? They look great, but I'm a bit hesitant at the price, especially because I couldn't resist getting both types.

I feel like we're just a step away from 0083 RDs, though! My hope is that once Bandai runs through the major 0079 designs, we'll start seeing ANIME versions of suits from the OVAs. Seeing the Z'Gok get an RD has me so dang optimistic for a Z'Gok E and a Hy-gogg!

I also own the SHCM Pro Gundam and Zaku.

I personally think the SHCM Pro is the best looking modern RX-78 and Zaku, while the RD anime is for source material accuracy.
>>
>>5674371
How's the durability for the shcm pro compared to the anime? Secondly, turn the upper arm section completely backwards for full anime mode.

Thing is, I think bth look stellar, the only thing the left has that looks like absolute dogshit is the monoeye, I mean WOW. that's like 80s modelkit eye. They both seem great to me! Though it's kinda hard to fuck up a zaku. It's like the perfect robot.
>>5674426
I did not know the anime gundam had a QUALITY backpack, that is hilarious. >>5674424
also the forearms don't look as big as most pics make em out to be.

Now I just gotta hope nippon yassan can come through with an order for char's rick dom for me, and i can pick up the g-3 colors too. Shame we never see CA or ZEON colors much, though.

>>
>>5674658
Not even trying to be contrarian, but /m/ as a whole has some pretty shit taste, it's about who made the anime, nothing else. Which means tomino could somehow put out objectively shitty work and still have 75% of /m/ defending it with 10% being neutral about it. And the 5% who actually dislike it are just trolls to the other 95%

I suspect that is referring to the aforementioned Patlabor and MSG releases for RD. I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything else. Especially if it isn't 80s real robot. The real question is what the new SRC Mazinger recolor will be. My money's on Boss Borot colors.

pre-orders haven't even gone up yet. We only just got info on it a few days ago along with a preview of a gm we haven't seen info on at all.

Just wait a bit and I'm sure it'll show up in thread.

Thrid movie is good. The onyl thing I can say bad about the movies is tha tthe pacing is a bit rushed.

You could say that again. I was completely stumped when Amuro left White Base. The first half of the movie felt pretty off aside from Ryu, who I felt was consistently good.

I guess I was wrong about it not coming with the car. I think I'll wait to see what else they release before I decide whether to get Unit 1. -Shotgun (was used by Unit-1, but this is likely to come with Unit-2

-Tow cable

Simply beautiful.

It accurately captures the mass produced giant green cyclops as it was in the animation. while it looks less mechanical than previous model kit offerings, it does look a lot more lively/active as it was in the 2D anime.

Reference for Zaku poses.
>>
>>5679070
The only drawback is that this is the Zaku that existed in the continuity of 1979 First Gundam, not the wider expanded universe of OYW where Zaku have access to hand grenades and strum fausts as per games etc.

Perhaps ANIME Zaku II F2 in the future?
>>
The ANIME Zaku II seems to be selling well if amiami is anything to go by; Its already sold out there. Being sold out on the first day, that hasn't happened to an RD in a long time there.

Durability edge is gonna go to the RD pretty easily, as the SHCMs lean a tiny bit more towards being models (as opposed to the full-on action figureness of the RD) but the SHCMs are not fragile by any means. SHCMs are very high quality figures with lots of gimmicks to them such as removable armor panels, the option to use a fully functional core fighter on the RX-78 torso, tons and tons of accessories, and they're fully painted AND have diecast in their feet!

I agree, they're still great looking figures! But man, I just love the clean lines and proportions of the RD.

In terms of middlemen, it pains me to say it but Nippon-Yasan is probably the most solid option currently. If you got in your Char Rick Dom preorder with 'em, you should be set!

>>5674556
I think my main issue with the SHCM Zaku is how high up the waist tubing is and the head sculpt. The way they handled the chest/waist area on the RD and the RD's head sculpt just totally do it for me, haha.

>>5676879
Ahhhhh! It looks fantastic!! And holy crap, we're seriously getting the command car with it!

>>5678453
Anon, I love ya, but I'm so glad you were wrong, haha.

>>5679070
>>5679072
Dang the Zaku is looking superb; I had forgotten they were going to include the commander's spike. Went to AmiAmi to see about grabbing one more, but they've sold out...

Kimaris is looking great too! I love how bulky it looks in contrast to the lithe Barbatos.

>>5679201
Seriously! Hopefully they get some more before I have to ship my May order, haha.
>>
Is anyone else terrified by the wings on the Dunbine RDs? Have any of you broken one? It's really scary trying to snap them in and even when I do, they feel spookily tight and fragile. I'm really afraid that if one of these ever falls off the shelf, all those wings are gonna snap at once.
>>
>>5679273
Also, the Drumlo is just as good as you guys said. Really enjoying it. Is Leprechaun also good? I've been on a real budget lately so I'm trying to minimize my purchases, but....the Dunbine designs are just so cool.

This is something I've been thinking about for a while now: is anyone else sort of underwhelmed by RDs as a whole? The fact that most of them are largely unpainted, uncoated plastic and even boast visible sprue marks makes them feel like lazily prebuilt model kits--but at 4x the price of one. Now, I know some RDs do feel very "premium," but by and large my experiences with the line have been a bit underwhelming. They just don't have that impressive level of polish I see in say, SRCs, or post-2014 SHFs. Am I alone here? I haven't really seen anyone else complaining about this, so maybe I am, but...I just can't shake this slight feeling of disappointment at the presentation, even when the figure itself is very good.
>>
>>5679378

All mass-produced toys have sprue marks. My MP star saber has 'em, my hot toys 1/4 boba fett probably has spruemarks on the bodypiece beneath.

It's just a nature of figures.

As for paint, I'm happy with minimal paints because fuck, paint transfer and natural wear and tear scare the shit out of me. I had three Berserk figmas that all eventually suffered from paint transfer on their weapons after holding them for a month.
>>
>>5679273
>>5679281

Leprechaun is great. Probably the best AB release in terms of sheer quality and being able to hold a pose. It's big, too. Tallest of the ABs that I have.

I wouldn't worry about the wings. Yeah, a shelf dive might cost you a wing, but even then, chances are the wing would just twist out of the way as it hit. My Zwarth took a few tumbles before I tightened the joints, and all the wings are fine.
>>
>>5679145

That's a feature, not a bug.
>>
>>5679378
depends on the figure to be hnoest, I just wish they were all flat-coated.

For example, most exclusives satisfy me for the price, as did both tallgeese. Non gundamrds are usually well painted as well. Can't think of many that haven't satisfied me to be honest.
>>
>>5679378
They're definitely not worth the price being asked these days. The only way to buy most of them is secondary market.
>>
>>5679245
i demand more shots of anime gundamn
>>
I just got the RD Vifam, and I'm confused with the extra hands. Why does it only have one right trigger hand, but has both a left and right handle grabbing arm? You can't hold the rifle with both hands, so what's the point?
>>
>>5679378
>is anyone else sort of underwhelmed by RDs as a whole

Yes, but I don't mind the paint. What really ticks me off is 3 out of 5 of my RDs have either came out of the box incredibly floppy or gotten loose over time (Shining Gundam can't even stand on his feet anymore).
>>
>>5679378
I kind of agree. Most of them look fine, but the asking price seems really high on a ton of them. I mostly get them if they're below 35, and even then if they're big or have a ton of accessories.

The most obscure one yet. It is still a Gouf but prepared by Zimmad to test Dom features, much like what they did for the MS-006RD4.

Nice to see the return of Zaku Desert Type along with an MSV ace coloured Gouf.

That Gouf is named Real Type colours on its name plate, and it is also coincidentally a desert colour scheme.

Barbatos and anything from the ANIME line are pretty cutting edge when it comes to style and engineering, would also recommend the full action unicorn gundam
>>
I would like them to do the Xeku Zwei after the Ex-S Gundam. I think a couple of large scale Ka Signature per year would do instead of random releases of minor MS like Dijeh or Methuss Kai.

The price should be no more than 35k yen.

As far as Tamashii Nation products go, the price cap tends to be 35k yen to 50k yen for the 30cm SOCDX Mazingers plus cage. There was also that replica rocket model which cost even more.

Penelope Markings was 27k yen, so Ex-S should be similar while Xeku Zwei will be more.

Frankly, I am not very interested. Red Astray was a huge disappointment. Unlike previous builds, the Red Frame seems to be made of cheap plastic. Even Amatsu mina, the same base, is better painted and the black plastic parts have a metal coat.
>>
>>5684677
Drumlo's great, but it loses points since the fire effect part was made exclusive to the Todd Drumlo.

I'm suddenly wondering what happened to that anon that bought like 8 Drumlo's... I wonder if he's selling a few.

This ANIME line for 0079 is breaking me down into getting these now. Just ordered 2 Gundams, Zaku and Chars Zaku and preordered the rest.

Has anyone panel lined these before? They look unfinished honestly but still good.

And do they come apart? I ask cause I am interested in customizing them. For example. I'll probably order 5 GMs, I want to make Jack the Halloween which needs the Gundam double saber backpack and decals. Also I could make that ESF Victory Celebration Gundam cash grab that Bandai Asia made but Bandai Japan wanted nothing to do with.

Do they take paint? I know I would prime and wash off residue. Want to make Shin Matsunagas Zaku with the white head and shoulder.

Thanks!! Hope I like these, they look fantastic.

What's the point? It doesn't make it look like the animation and it doesn't make it look like a real machine. The grooves already provide more shadow than you would see in real life.
>>
>>5685324
In direct lighting the seam grooves look like mere recesses rather than actual divided panels. One can obviously see that at the bottom of the groove it is identically colored to the rest of the body. The coloring of the grooves deepens the effect and breaks up the uniformity. It's not "accurate" but neither are seam grooves that aren't actual separate panels. So you're basically confused as to why one inaccurate thing is being done when it was inaccurate to begin with.
>>
>>5685319
Someone's cranky.

Also, I just ordered a Crossbow Savage. Anyone else have anything to say about him? I've never seen pictures of the Crossbow version.
>>
>>5687183
Just the display at the event and a teaser on the website. There's no solid indication one way or another of what it comes with.
>>
>>5687261
The one in Arbalest colors with two huge ass hammers? It's as fun as any of the Savages. Impressively posable for what it is, simple and easy to work with, and oddly endearing in how expressive it is.

It can hold the hammers one handed easily, or two-handed, if that's your concern. It also includes the UMP-ish sub-machinegun and extra magazines. They use the standard hardpoint system that most of the FMP figures use, so you can put them on something else or over-equip your Savage with equipment from other units in the same series.

No huge surprises or super-amazing features to it, but also no real detracting features either. It's just a nice, simple figure and that's honestly the Savage's biggest strength.

Just straight out of the box, I'm really struck by how solid everything feels! Joints are all super tight too.

>>5687177
I think the two main issues people have brought up is that first, aesthetically it doesn't quite match up with the Shining/God Gundam. Shining/God have a more stylized, dynamic sculpt, whereas Master has a sculpt that's more lineart oriented. Secondly, Master's joints tend to lean towards being a bit loose, similar to how Shining/God were (or so I've heard).

Those are just the complaints I recall from people posting in previous threads, so don't take them as personal experience by any means.

I've always been tempted to pick up the Crossbow Savage to complete the set, but man, that story arc in FMP Sigma bummed me out too much, haha.

Love how the armor plates on the leg slide around as you bend the leg, and the range of motion in the arms is excellent. Really impressed with this guy, I totally understand now why MBs sell out so quickly. The quality is really outstanding.

This is actually all I did with my Red Frame, as I don't have a good place to display him right now so I didn't want to plug everything in (didn't get around to checking out the flight pack either). Still, I've got my eye on Blue Frame!

Not actually familiar with anything but the two animes that aren't Fumuffu, sadly, so I'm not even familiar with what the context behind the Arbalest version Savage is.

I just know it's fairly cheap, despite being the web exclusive one IIRC, and has two big ass hammers. What more could you want?

Ooh, I'm glad I didn't spoil anything then. The Crossbow Savage has a great showing though, there's some really cool scenes with it.

Haha I really should have, but since I was just going to put it back in its box I didn't want to plug any of the parts in on the off-chance it'd be difficult to pull back out (especially since you don't get a spare v-fin).

Is anyone here interested in an RD Botune? I'm thinking about selling my unopened one for $20 shipped in the US.
