What was it, /toy/? What was that one thing that you wanted as a kid but you never got? Pic related is mine.
friends
Dino Riders T-Rex.
We had like everything else.
No T-Rex. I loved the commercial for it so much.
A childhood.

The Temple of Anubis was my christmas present the year it was released. I still own it.
Pic related was mine, Magus from Mighty Max. I bought it second-hand a decade later.
>>5668090
My parent's or sibling's love and approval.
My cunt of a mother always got me luke or Han.
Action Fleet Hoth.
Had to settle for the Death Star.
Or the Green Dragonzord.

All I would talk about was Mighty Max Skull Mountain for my birthday.
My parents got me pic related because we were actually poor as shit. I was psyched because I didn't know there was a dinosaur one.
Looking back and being a parent now, it makes me happy knowing I had parents who would at least try.
>>5668178
i bought this used but it didn't have any hands i always wondered what they looked like
Saw pic related for the first time when I visited my friend one day. It was only display on his dresser, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time.
>>5668090
That talking Yoda that came out around 2004. Looking back it wasn't that good.
>>5668705
I fucking loved that one.
I had a fuck ton of Might Max toys, including the lava giant, skull mountain, the dragon head island, and the space ship. I was also poor growing up but my parents put a shit ton of stuff on credit cards for Christmas/Birthdays.
Feels bad knowing that all the stuff for them is missing now.
Totally Hair Barbie (known as the most sold Barbie ever) aswell as the Gymnast Barbie.
As a boy, I wasn't allowed to keep "girl's toys", and my adoration for dolls used to be the cause of shamefull desperation to my parents. Even when gifted by someone of my extended family, I wasn't allowed to keep them.
I wanted the Orient Expedition line
>>5668705
I stuck the bad guy at the top up my butt in the tub once
Wanted him ever since I saw an add for it on one of those booklets that came with other Digimon toys, never saw it in stores. Finally own one, obviously it's kid-toy tier but I'm very happy with it.
I remember wanting the big Imperial Trading Post set after seeing it at a friend's house, and also the Skull's Eye Schooner. Grandma did get me pic related for Christmas one year which was awesome in itself.
Original Dragonzord.
Had all the other Zords. Never completed the full set.

Same here bro.
This glorious motherfucker.
I eventually got three junker Predacons (Razorclaw, Rampage and Divebomb) but then the Platinum reissue came out and I finally got them all. Still one of the centerpieces of my collection.
>>5668090
Fucking all of them, we were pretty poor when I was a kid so I used to just get those free booklets they had at the store and flip through them thousands of times imagining how sweet it would be to own all that shit.
I guess if any stuck out to me it would be Pirates and Castles, new Lego is pretty soulless in regard to their playsets these days, not that I have a problem with media tie-ins but it's just so commercial when the only properly Lego thing these days is City.
I got so close but nooooo get a savings account they said
>>5669191
These types of sets always seemed to be bigger when I was younger.
>>5669185
I wanted him too. If you got money to burn, go get yourself a Feral Rex.
>>5668178
Omg yes
>>5669191
I feel like the Lego original ideas made for some really fun directions with basic archetypes. Like yeah, Adventurers was just Indiana Jones/pulp adventure on the surface, but they got to do all sorts of things that they wouldn't be able to do by just doing the Indy license.
>>5668090
There was a really nice Action Man I saw once on holiday.
Asked for/never received.
Although looking through a list of every action man and not seeing him, I'm beginning to doubt he was as cool as I remember.
My spoilt friend had it
>>5669179
I had the Dragonzord. It was great.
The Dragon Dagger was what I could never find.
>>5668100
This
More a case of seen it on the back of the box of the other toys in the series but never seen it in the local stores so I couldn't ask for it anyway.
It just wasn't available in my country. I had the proton pack though.
>>5669431
That set was awesome, man. I saved up my allowance to get it and it was worth it. Still one of ny favorite Lego sets.
>>5669573
I'll try to get it one day ;_;
>>5668653
is that a prototype image? Or do I just remember the box art looking way better than it actually is?
>all these anons who were poor when they were younger
Is this what makes us buy toys now? The lack of them in our childhood?
>>5669629
fun things are fun regardless of age.
>>5669191
Holy shit, I have this anon next time i get it out I will think of you.
>>5669439
I personally wanted metroliner (and club car) as well as other 9v trains. Now I got a decent paying job I think I might get loads of lego I missed out on.
>>5669431
Thats Patrication as fuck mate.
>>5668928
Store near sells new and old lego only, that set is is £280 not sure if its a good deal and i cba to check bricklink.
>>5669623
I never had the box, why do you torture me like this?
>>5668653
I had this thing, it was fucking sick. Literally the only Lego set I have that is still put-together, instead of in pieces.
Hell, the T-rex alone would have been great, but the pteranodon was icing on the cake. plus the minifigures had these great outfits and faces and cool guns that weren't just solid pieces. Oh, and a fucking zip-line and launcher?
my god it was excellent.
>>5668795
Holy shit does this bring back memories
>>5668090
You're literally me OP. Had the whole egypt line but this one. My first heartbreak ):
>>5668470
>ask mom for a darth vader
>gets me this
>literally the only darth vader without a lightsaber
>this would remain my only darth vader
>love it anyway as a kid
it's weird how little they whored darth vader out for a bit there
Any variation of the Lego Millenium Falcon. Honestly was debating getting myself TFA's one just so I could have a little justice, but Legos in general are so pricy I don't think I could ever get into them again. My entire collection as a kid was made up of a bunch of $10-$25 dollar sets. I think the most expensive set I ever got was the Slave I that ran for $50.
>>5671070
What kinda weapons you gave him then? Like you made him hold the droid's stand?
>>5671084
I just had him choke everybody out. I think I'd give him my Darth Maul lightsaber sometimes
this dude right here.die cast voltron from 1981. yes, I'm old as fuck.
>>5668090
Don't know why, but I loved the design of american (I'm from europe) taxies when I was a kid.
Also, I liked the idea of an "everyman" figure.
I stoppd using Playmobil a long time ago, but i would still buy it
>>5669526
Lol that's the only one of those I owned.
>>5668900
I hear ya anon.
When I was a little kid, my mom took me to a garage sale and I saw a naked Barbie that I really wanted. My mom got really embarassed and hustled us out of there because she was sure everyone there was thinking her son was a homersexual.
I just thought the naked lady was pretty.
Then later an RC Barbie car got sent to our house by mistake and my parents wouldn't let me keep it because it was pink.
>>5668795
worst ucs set
>>5671815
Ugh, I'm only 22 and I desperately want one of these. I have a ton of Voltron shit but not this one.
A Barbie Jeep. I remember I almost got one... but the battery died in the store while I was testing it, and the employee told my mom that she would have to pay out of pocket for the butt-ass-fucking expensive batteries even though the box said "first set of batteries included!" so my mom said nope and we left without it.
>>5671815
It's weird to think that I had this as a kid and I broke the shit out of it. I remember after all the parts were smashed and I got a little older I would use the sword as a fantasy dagger and pretend to stab people until it broke.
>>5668653
A HIND-D?! What's a Russian gunship doing in a childhood disappointments thread?
>>5675578
Got this with the gigantic ass airport as a kid.
Still one of my favorite toys growing up.
Unfortunately I liked to watch the planes crash so it's all broken/gone now :(
>>5669191
Go buy Nexoknights Fortrex. One of the best Playsets lego made.
>>5679343
looks tiny
>Tyco R.C. Speed Wrench
Have better Rc cars now, but really wanted it as a kid.
