I bought my Mankanshoku 2 Star Nendroid a while back, but it fell off the shelve, snapping the hinge at the jacket. I was thinking about drilling a hole to insert a small metal rod, but I'm not sure that'll work. Any advice?

way to go dumbass

I don't see exactly how the pieces are supposed to go together.

There's a straight peg from the middle piece going into the side piece which snapped off at the bottom. I'm thinking about drilling a new hole and connecting them with a metal rod/sewing needle.

Your words don't hurt me.
Much.
Alright OP I had my laugh and I've decided to help your poor ass out. There's two ways you could fix this. Ones the I'm a useless fuck that has no skills and no tools way. The others the I know what the fuck I'm doing way.
First way: First you want to make sure the translucent piece that broke off is removed from the center part of the jacket. Once that's removed what your going to do is fill the hole with some bullshit. Whether it be glue, polymer clay, apoxy something that solidifies through air or heat.
Once you finish that this is what you do. Find one of them thick ass sewing needles and by using force or heating it up and using force your gonna jam it into the hole you just filled and the part where the tube off the sleeve broke off. Once you do that your gonna break that needle the appropriate length and it's now become your pin. Jam that shit in the center part of the jacket and let gravity do the work.
2nd Way: Just like the first way get that translucent piece out somehow. Now instead of filling that socket your going to use a pin vice or dremel/rotary tool if you got steady hands and with the smallest drill bit you can and your going to drill a hole where that nub broke off on the sleeve. Find a pin of the right size and you can figure the rest out yourself.
If both sound too hard buy a new one.
