Are GaoGaiGar figures still around? 'cause I'd really like to know where to buy them.

Specially looking for GaoFighGar and Genesic GaoGaiGar.

If you want transformable figures of them, wait a bit for Bandai's Soul of Chogokin line. They released pic related and it sold pretty well, so I guess GaoFighGar and Genesic have chances of being released too in the future.

The CM's Brave Gokin ones like the one in your pic are overpriced as fuck and aren't even that good. The Soul of Chogokin blows them out of the water.

And if you don't care about the transformation, get the Super Robot Chogokins (pic related). They're tiny but highly articulated.

As for where to search, try Mandarake. Second hand store, but has many unopened items too. It's better if you search for them in japanese.

Oh wait, that's the Studio Half Eye one. That's even more expensive than the Brave Gokins.

It's funny that you mention the size of the SRCs, since the Studio HalfEye GaoFighGar is around the same size AND pulls off a perfect transformation. I really should pick up a SRC GFG to compare the two.

Still hoping for some more GGG SoCs though. As much as I love the SHE GaoFighGar, I would be ecstatic if Bandai gave such a great design the same amount of love that they did the original.

>It's funny that you mention the size of the SRCs, since the Studio HalfEye GaoFighGar is around the same size AND pulls off a perfect transformation.

Is it really that tiny? If that's the case, that's pretty impressive.

Sometimes I think that the guys working at Half Eye are wasting their talents in that small company. They should work on Bandai, that way their products will leave behind the brittle resin and ugly screws typical of garage kits. The better materials, higher production and lower prices would work in our favour too.

But I guess they just like the freedom of working in wathever they want.
>>
>>5630557
IIRC, Bandai bought their Escaflowne mold in the 90's to produce on their own, but they never wound up releasing it.

I actually really like seeing the screws for some reason, and resin feels really great on their stuff (though it's definitely not as playable as plastic).

GFG is a lot heavier than I would've expected due to it - or maybe that plus all the screws.

The screws don't look that bad on their GFG, but pic related is too much for me.

There totally is though. It has 2 releases, the second of which fixes some issues with the first.

Get your facts straight mate. At this point, the fact we're getting the last upgrade is pretty much a miracle.
>>
>>5630634
Nono, I mean in stock in Mandarake. Unless you mean that too, then I didnt see it.
>>
>>5630806
the first release was highly sought after, i barely even got it
>>
The first release was actually sold out in almost every major retail.

The second release was just a second chance for everyone else that missed out. With some stores clearance it the yen rate this year is a bit higher now so it self adjusted in price.
>>
>>5630898
Oh, that makes sense.
>>
>>5630921
>>5630930
There's only one release which never sold out. Most initial preorders sold out which means absolutely nothing. The figure was widely available at the release date and still is.
>>
>>5630942
You fucking idiot there was a second release which was a RE-RELEASE.

Look that shit up and get your facts straight, MATE.
>>
>>5630949
How about you do it dumbshit?
>>
>>5630953
No because I'm not the dumbshit in this conversation.

It was re-release because of demand and for the new release of Goldion Hammer.

Now get your facts straight, dumbshit.

OG gaogaigar had a re-release mainly because many of them had some QC problems regarding the hips and the stealthgao attachment.
there's a really minuscule way to know which one is which: the box of the first release and the re-release had small differences, the pose at the front part of the boxes in the re-release has GGG looking upward, whereas the original release is looking forward; the big ass golden kanji is bolded in the re-release and in the original is not, and in the upper flap of the box where you see the bot's face has some dynamic lines passing through ggg in the original, in the re-release the lines are passing behind him

As that other guy said, you're completely wrong. SoC GGG was first released on December 27 2014, sold out really fast, and was re-released on October 10 2015. The one who should get his facts straight is you. If you don't believe us or think pic related is shopped go check yourself unless you're too scared to be proven wrong.

It's pretty damn rare for a SoC to be re-released so fast, the ones in stock right now are from the second batch. So yeah, it sold well.

Calm your tits, I was only clarifying that point. I've been talking plenty about the toys in this thread.

And we care about how well a figure does because that means there's a chance to see more figures in that very same line in the future.
>>
Is anyone even getting the SoC upgrade?
What was it, like 200 bucks for Stealth Gao II and some accessories?

I'm waiting for mine too.

It was pretty damn expensive, but at the very least it includes the huge-ass StealthGao II, a base, a non-transformable GaoGaiGar's head for maximum show accuracy and the gatling driver.

I just hope it also includes an extra pair of engine nacelles/forearms and transforming helmet too. I don't want to use the same ones included with GGG, both StealthGaos should be complete by themselves.
>>
>>5630990

>>
>>5632873
This actually seems to prove that they aren't included and you need to use the ones from Stealth Gao. They're nowhere to be seen in the box contents pictures.

Fucking Bandai, this thing is expensive for what it is and they can't even be bothered to include another pair of nacelles so you can display both Stealth Gaos? That's pretty cheap on their part.
>>
>>5633345
Dude, they're visible in several pics. There's even one pic that compare the old and new heads.

They are using the nacelles/foreamrs included with GaoGaiGar. The heads are the transformable one included with GaoGaiGar and the non-transformable one included with the upgrade set.

So no, the upgrade set doesn't include the forearm/nacelles or a transformable head. You need to use the ones included with GGG.

Look at pic related. Even if Google translate is ass, it's easy to understand what he's talking about. Both the transformable head andthe forearms aren't included and you must use the ones from Stealth Gao I.

Lower right of the tray.
>>
>>5633629

That's the new non-transforming head, the gold crown is bigger and the red piece on the back has more balljoints than the original. It doesn't include the transformable helmet.

It's not that difficult to understand, dude.
>>
>>5633642
Eat shit.
>>
>>5633642
>It doesn't include the transformable helmet.

It could be stored inside Stealth Gao II. but seeing as they didn't include the forearms, I don't expect the transformable helmet to be included either.

Not including the nacelles is a pretty low think to do when they actually are pictured attached to Stealth Gao II in the front of the box .
>>
>>5631201
Should've bought the other BRAVE SRCs then.
