G2 combiners look like shit, why are you guys even surprised they're sheflwarming?
They're supposed to be nostalgic, but most veteran fans don't have very fond memories of G2 at all, and then there's the new fans and casuals who don't know about G2 at all so the colors just look garish and off-putting.
I think they're a fucking waste. I'd like to see combiners packaged with new, yet cool colors, or even just the regular releases but in a pack, some molds like Motormaster and Dragstrip never made it to my country so that'd be my chance.
If they're gonna nostalgia pander to things that aren't from G1, gives us some actual cool things from later eras. I would have loved Rid Ruination, but what we get is fucking Fruiticus.

Grey was the third colour, and you can see it in both the comic and toy designs.

I personally had a problem with voting when I didn't know what the previous results were, so the choice might be good for one of the previous results but not another. It's just too messy.
They could have done Four Horsemen's Fantastic Exclusive style voting where they had pre-planned concepts and you vote for smaller details, but also take user-submitted suggestions.
They wouldn't have even have had to process lots of user submissions if they had handled them the same way they handled the Hall of Fame voting where each major website narrowed them down by themselves and gave Hasbro the final 5.

Personally I think the Stuinitcons look great as individuals and shit as Menasor in G2 colours. I find the opposite with Superion though that may be because I find his G1 colours rather boring.

Someone at Hasbro's Transformers team really loves combiners, and pitched the idea of an entire toyline based on G1-style combiner teams. Pitch probably went as follows:

>leftovers will still be purchased, because the style of combiner is totally interchangeable
>it doesn't matter if kids don't know who the character is, they will love combining robots
Hasbro saw the potential, and created the Combiner Wars line.
It appeals to the nostalgic crowd who grew up with the original combiner teams, it appeals to kids because of the fun gimmick, and it appeals to Hasbro's profits.
(There's also a comic for Combiner Wars, but that was initiated by Hasbro, not the comic team.)

Your collection will look just fine. Paintwork is gonna be different, yes, but all of the figures will have passed through the same team of designers. They're gonna look right together no matter your combination.

Well, why would they be accurate for Shockwave when they've taken liberties with many of the new MPs? It makes Shockwave stand out in the display, but not in a good way.

That's just a nicely painted leader toy.
Take out the electronics, give it something like the redone AoE face swap gimmick, remove swords, add in some rubber tires and thinner too, and have it to where the backpack can compress into the now electonicless torso to make him slimmer.
Then maybe you can call it a Masterpiece.

Not gonna lie, the RotF Leader Optimus Prime mold and the HftD Leader Starscream mold are masterpieces without a doubt for the movie characters.
