The fact that there's no way to filter out China on ebay.

Fucking seriously; I hate having to check every single listing to see where shit's coming from because of the more recent trend of chinks trying to sell bootlegs at full retail or higher.

When I can't get basic information from the distributor. They drag their assessment on photos, don't know case sizes (let alone assortments), guess at release dates, etc. It's awful that I basically have to hit BBTS and hope the distributor catches up in a couple weeks. And then, no matter how I order or schedule, stuff always arrives right after a convention.

Transformers has some great bootlegs.

And then you have the (unfortunately rare) cases where they completely shit on the original by improving it.
>>
>>5621980
Is that the RIO:Bone Canti? If so then good, I was pining after it but if articulation sucks then I think I can get over it.
>>
I live in the country, and I hate it when some stereotypical geeks I know come up to me and say 'wow guess what anon I bought a really cool action figure Link online it's called a figma and it's really detailed and amazing they even do a Samus from Metroid soo cool let me show it to you' and I'm just thinking of my own figma collection that I just downsized from 60 to 30.

I don't know how it happens multiple times with the same people. aside from toys I'm a total normie so I guess they want to 'educate' me.
>>
>>5621770
"curling iron arms" on Transformers trigger me to no end. You know, stuff like Beast Hunters Bulkhead where bending the elbow makes it look like the figure is doing bicep curls because the hands are permanently sculpted that way.
>>
>>5622219
It is but I'm not really sure what that anon is talking about.
Like most sentinel figures, articulation is great.

My nephew and his friends do that. I've learned to keep the power level to a minimum and they wanna show off their weeb cred. It's pretty embarrassing. He'd be creaming over his overpriced Goku figuarts and I don't have the heart to tell him that it would have been $10-15 cheaper online.

Or I also have a little Chibiusa charm on my wallet (am grill so it's not so bad) and if a weeb is checking me out through the checkout line they're always, "OMG RIIIINIIIIII" I just kinda smile and nod and try to beeline for the door as soon as they're done.

If it was overpriced, it wouldn't have sold on Amazon for 20% more. Or at comic cons for the same price. eBayers are just poor, when the search engine isn't playing games.
>>
>>5633466
If it wasn't overpriced, it would sell.

A toy is only worth what somebody is willing to pay, it doesn't matter what the MSRP is or how much it's selling for elsewhere.

If you're having trouble selling on eBay, your pricing is the problem.
>>
>>5633480
desu ebayers are pretty entitled when it comes to price stuff
>>
>>5633482
There's always low ballers and whiners though, it doesn't matter if you're selling on ebay, Amazon or at cons.

I was selling a Nendoroid a few months back, I had it listed for $100 or best offer, some chucklefuck offered me $40, I declined and ignored all further contact from them.
It sold for $100 a week later.

It's that easy, if your pricing is realistic.

Don't try to sell pegwarmers for MSRP or higher.
>>
Actually today I feel pretty good
>>
>>5633480
No, it did sell. Twenty times, actually. Just not to poorfags on eBay.

eBay is also known to engage in rolling blackouts and traffic shaping. I wouldn't expect a drive-by best offer lowballer to be aware of that though.

I don't even order cases with shelf warmers anymore. Everybody wants the short packed figure for a discount and the rest for practically free. Won't last long selling $100 of toys for $25.
>>
>>5625038
This is why I love /toy/
>>
>>5633529
Then why do you use ebay?
>>
>>5633537
Because Amazon fees are twice as high and there aren't enough cons, let alone good cons, instate. Actually I use a few other sites too but none of them have the traffic or basic features to compete with A/E. 2016 and they can't figure out calculated shipping or per item shipping. I can't afford to eat shipping and buyers are too poor to pay flat rate.

It's pretty much a match made in hell, a fee structure that inflates prices delivering a poorer and poorer class of customer. eBay wasn't like this back in the 90s. I don't know about Amazon but I sure don't see much worth buying from them.

This shit happening

How does that even happen? The tabs are smaller than the openings in the box, so they should slide right in no problem.

Fuck.
>>
>buy something on ebay
>pay immediately (on a Monday)
>my order is shipped three days later

Come on now. I don't expect sellers to run to the post office with my package as soon as the 'paid' notification comes through, but three whole days?
>>
>>5635918
Please tell me you're not this big of a spoiled brat.
>>
>>5635928
I don't like it when buyers take 3 days to pay me, I don't like it when sellers take 3 days to ship my item.

I paid Monday, there was no excuse for them not to go to the post office until today.
>>
>>5635928
If you can't ship things within 48 hours during the business week, you don't need to sell things on the internet

>what grinds your gears
Shit like pic related.
In a fb group dedicated to helping each other identify parts and strange toys, we get fucks like this that know nothing about the hobby who just use our knowledge to flip toys on ebay.

Last week I tried to buy a couple parts from some bro dude and he asked me to send money "paypal friends and family"
I told him I'd gladly send it the regular way + a couple bucks and it would save him from ebay fees etc.
>what's the regular way???
>oh, i'll just list them on ebay then
Fucking idiot. Now he has them listed at 5X what I'm willing to pay and they're obscure weapons to a shit toy line that aren't even highly sought after. Good luck buddy.

>I remember being a kid and loving Bionicle.
>Go to my KB Toys with $15 allowance
>There every 2 weeks to get new Toa or villain
>Have all the Toa Nuva except Tahu
>Buy this shit one weekend
>NEVER see Tahu Nuva again
I also felt this pain with Nuju Hordika
>>
>buy a brand new part from a seller
>it arrives riddled with teeth marks
>leave negative feedback
>seller messages me whining about how a $3.00 item doesn't warrant negative feedback and we could have settled it via message
>refunds me before I even bother filing a complaint

>buy a figure from another seller
>item is used, but great for the price listed, usually isn't ever this cheap
>no tracking number
>item doesn't arrive when scheduled
>wait an extra week
>still nothing
>message seller, asking about the item
>they don't respond but immediately give me a refund with no explanation
>leave negative feedback because not only are all other listing more than what his was but simply the fact that I expected what I fucking paid for
>seller messages me trying to act like my negative feedback wasn't justified

Like, what the fuck is with sellers acting like they have the right to be so goddamn slimey? If you feel like a toy riddled in fucking teeth marks is acceptable to sell to someone, or you just don't ever ship their item they paid you for, you have no fucking right to try and play hush-hush with me, you kike.

Especially with the second seller, I bet he would've just held onto my money if I didn't message him about where my figure was.

Holy LOL at these entitled manbabies!

Most people selling things on ebay have real jobs and ebay sales are a little side project for them. And if they're selling large volumes it's simply a waste of time to go to the post office every day. Plus there's the actual act of packing things and finding perfect boxes for oddly shaped items. Damn, you online seat-glued plebians are clueless about the outside world.

>People who buy third party kits or resin kits

I have a friend who spends literally hundreds of dollars a month on 1/24 scale car model kits.

He posts photos of them on Facebook, brags about how rare they are, but never builds them.

I don't get MISB fags in general, but MISB model kits? What the fuck is the point?
>>
>>5639044
The hunt.
Also I stopped caring about the amount I spend every since I started attending scale model meets. The older guys that build military tanks/plane? Better than most I've seen. The scale model train guys? By far the biggest spenders period. It's not uncommon to see a guy with $3k+ train and box car set and they're nonchalant about it.
>>
>>5639058
It just seems sad to never build them and see their purpose realized.

He does have quite a collection, lots of rare Tamiya stuff from the 70's and 80's, they'd look great in a display if they were built and painted. Instead he's got a bunch of cardboard boxes with pictures on them.

Pfffft

Warhammer guys spend more but they bitch and scream about how much they've spent over the years and that games workshop is subjectanon

No he's not. There's one at my local for $35.
>>

Since you're so responsible to have a "real job", you should be responsible and ship shit in a reasonable time window. Three days is too much.
You can't do that? Then stop selling.

Also nice argument about packaging, you shoud have everything packaged (just not closed) before even putting your shit online.

Bonus hands. I love bonus faces since it's a neat little optional thing but unless there's something for the figure to hold with said bonus hand it's fucking USELESS.

I have an entire junk drawer full of them and I don't know if I want to throw them out or let them rot in there.
>>
>>5640127
Hands are pretty expressive. I don't understand why you're fine with faces but not hands as well.

I hate it when the figure's hand options are only default fists, open hands, and grabbing hands (if they have weaponry), but still command a pricetag of a figure that would typically have more accessories.
Figuarts Ghost comes to mind.

When companies make a line and the figures have different stands.
These flipping Sailor Moon figures I own have a hole in the back for most of the girls, but the ones with long hair have a claw that you just place the figures in. Why the hell would you even? They fall over if you look at them funny. I don't understand why you wouldn't just put a hole in the back of their hair?
