not trolling, just curious: Aren't Lego Sets basically unrare if unboxed? You could recreate ANY Lego Set with exchangable parts anyways.

Like, i could rebuilt this entire cloud city set just by buying its parts seperately, right?
>>
>>5612930
That's true, which is also the reason why the exclusive parts go for a hell of a lot of money.

I'm pretty sure the Bobba Fett and Lando are exclusive to that set and that makes them really expensive.
>>
>>5612894
Fuck man, I tried so hard to find this thing when it was rereleased a little while back. I was just too slow.

I'd still rather go for the monorail sets though, I've wanted those ever since I first saw them as a kid at a train convention.

Nope boba comes with the slave 1 aswell.
>>
>>5612747
I got this yesterday senpai
>>
>>5612930
They're much rarer with box (and sealed) But most sets still retain value because of the figures.

In this case, the Cloud City is fairly cheap to make, but more or less all of the figures are exclusive to this set.
>>
>>5612931
>>5612937

Boba Fett, Lando, Luke and Leia (and maybe Solo?) are exclusive to this set with their designs. This is the only Boba with printed arms and legs, of the older design (the newer Boba comes printed with the Slave 1 UCS)

It´s always surprising to see which parts are rare or even exist in Lego sets.

The flower stem part you see there next to the stormtrooper, it was only available through this one set in brown and costs on average over 5$ (used condition). One would think it would be as common in brown as in green, the latter being included in over 450 sets, costing 5 cents on average.

Another example would be one of my holy grail parts, picrelated. It´s very common in nearly all colors lego ever produced except tan. It only appeared in one set in tan, the 2004 release of the Star Wars Snowspeeder. It goes for prices between 5,50 and 24€ each on Bricklink. Depending on where you live it might be cheaper to get an incomplete Snowspeeder on Ebay than buy the part alone. And it still begs the question why it came only with Snowspeeders of all things when all other toys based on it are grey or white and never have a single ounce of tan in it.

I do try to acquire my grails and I have most of my most-wanted. There's still some others I really want, mainly stuff I missed out on due to being in highschool or college. Some older 3A stuff, , Hot toys, MP-4 Optimus. Recently I got Threezero's Shield Liger for a decent price.

Since we're mostly talking about LEGO grails, this would be mine. The Modular Green Grocer....and to a lesser extent (as in, I want the Grocer more) Cafe Corner.

Both of them, used, go for upwards of $700~$1000 complete, used. And that's each. Brand new in a sealed box, the Cafe Corner is closer to $2000~$2500, and the Green Grocer is closer to $1200~$1300.

I've considered piecing the Green Grocer together, but the problem is that the sand green color bricks are pretty rare. The modified 1x2 bricks with the notch in them (of which the GG has around 50) go for about $3~$4 each. The regular 1x4 bricks go for a buck or two each, and it has almost 50 of those as well, and the 1x6s go for about $4 each too.

Not too many sets used Sand green (especially in large quantities) other than the Green Grocer, the Haunted House from Monster Fighters line, and one of the big Harry Potter sets. A couple of other sets have used some of those pieces, but they come with all of 2~4 pieces, which isn't nearly enough.

Just buying all the sand green pieces for the set would be about $300+, and that's not even taking into account all the other pieces in the set.

Some people substitute sand blue, or another color, but I just couldn't do it. I would want it to be the original colors...
>>
>>5613267
You would need to build the model and then paint the spots of the parts that are visible when finished. I find that kind of removes the magic, feels more like building a model kit and then you can´t disconnect on the fly again.

Lego Designers do that very often though. The designer of the UCS Bobas Slave One made a Jango version for his office and painted the pieces that were needed for the blue colorscheme. He wants to include the missing pieces for a blue version in his future sets so people could make a purist Jango Slave One in the future without tweaking his design.

>>5613280
Green Grocer was another one of my grails as well. My first Modular was the Fire Brigade and when I wanted to order Green Grocer just after Christmas 2009 it was sold out. production run got cut short, most sets had 1,5 to 3 years but GC only a bit over 1 year.
When I sorted my collection I saw how many parts I had for it but also ran into the problem with sandgreen bricks. Luckily it was 2014, Haunted House was still available and I figured I should just buy it. I never truly liked the Haunted House because of the green colorscheme. I went on to switch out the sandgreen of the Haunted House for light grey and then put all sand green parts into the Green Grocer.
Had to substitute a number of things. Dark red bows instead of blue, white curtains instead of dark red, tiny details. The 1x2 bricks with notches I just ignored and made into normal bricks, still don´t get why they had to use those modified versions instead of basics.
Haunted House had more than enough sand green bricks. Biggest problem for me were the 1x4 sideways hinge plates, windows, skeleton legs and 2x2 black roof pieces which I could order for 30€ on lego.coms Pick-A-Brick.

Sadly Haunted House itself is just as expensive now, 400$ lowest price instead of 180.

>Green Grocer was another one of my grails as well.

Yeah, Honestly, I think it is one of the best looking modulars, next to maybe the Parisian Restaurant. I only have about half of the Modulars, so it is an upward battle if I ever want to get the first five or so that I missed. Though, I don't really have a huge interested in Market street (which I think is just ugly) or the Town Hall, which is just kind of boring and plain to me.

I actually just recently missed a guy selling a Green Grocer on craigslist that he pieced together using sand blue instead of sand green. He also substituted a handful of other pieces, like the curtains and awning and a few other things, but he only wanted $300 for the whole thing, but by the time I contacted him it was gone.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&LH_Auction=1&_nkw=7153+lego&_sop=13
The biggest draw were the figures but they released redesigns of Jango and kid Boba in 2013 so it´s only for nostalgia goggles and dark blue slopes now.

>>5613345
Market Street was really ugly and a shit build (staircase perfectly centered in the 16x16 studs floor, really?) I don´t shed a tear for missing that.

Isn´t sand blue just as rare as sand green? I think the modular Pet Shop crunches the prices on Bricklink but that should go out of production any moment now as well.
>>
>>5613370
>Isn´t sand blue just as rare as sand green?

Huh. I didn't think it was, but now that I look it up, it really hasn't been in a lot of sets.

The larger parts have only been in 3 or 4 sets, and even the small 1x2 modified/notch parts have been in 7 sets. Pretty much all of which are retired and are/were seasonal sets.

That guy probably used sand blue because as of right now, it is pretty readily available until the Pet Shop is totally off the market.

A good list of all sets is on Brickset.com with easy to search for tags. Check if sets are truly complete with partslists from bricklink.com. Lego buyers a fickle beasts and can get bitchy if you say something is complete but is missing a tiny part or two, maybe include a line in the description with the exact part and you are good to go.
Anything licensed should fetch a nice price.

competitive player here.

Hora decks usually rely on getting all 3 gods to the grave very fast, then use soul charge to revive all 3 (yes, that is possible) to tribute them for horakthy.

yes, its not even close to being reliable, but still the best method out there.

also, magical merchant is a good card for this combo.

....YES.

... Odd question, never used Mandrake before, so whats the better shipping, DHL or EMS?
>>
>>5620073
I hear they're roughly the same shipping speed, but DHL is more likely to get you hit with customs fees. I've always used EMS so I just stick with that.

Buying the actual boat it's based off of would be easier than finding this treasure.
