This is my first Revoltech I've ever owned. I feel like it may have been a mistake to start with a Tachikoma, because man these joints are weird and at weird angles. The only interesting fact about it is IT HAS NEW JOINTS.
6mm single and 6mm double joints, exact same dimensions as the old joints, but has no ratchets. Not the same as Mini joints because these can part swap just like regular Revo joints. 4mm is new too technically, they all lack the tiny indents on the pegs.
I think Stitch was still using Mini joints.
Looks like figures targeted to a wider audience will use smooth joints. Or for characters with lighter weight. Apologies if these were already used for Stitch, I don't have him with me so I forget what joints it used. I just remember he had no ratchets.

Annelotte does. Well the newer joints, not the current one but the version before. Still good enough.
Pretty sure Aldora only had the old joints. But her arms were 4mm joints so she had zero strength carrying her weapon anyways. And she is pretty small so the floppy joints weren't that much of an issue I think. Fix or replace the hip joints and should be good enough.

Compare to some other figures around the same price range, yeah I think it's worth it.
I don't have this size=price mentality. I really like the design and articulation. I think I'll glue some short sword to one of the hands to solve the lack of useful weapon problem.
I'm more inclined to getting Melynx knowing you can take off the neck cloth. I:m a fan of Cyborg Kuro chan...I thought I:ll find a minigun and stick it to his hand and make a somewhat realistic version.

It came with a pair of peg hole hands actually.
It makes sense that the hands are so small any gripping hands will have to be bigger hands and gripping strength of them can't be that great. Wrist joints are weak so holding at an angle will suck too.
Not that with a peg it solves much of this with a giant ass weapon. Best way would be to have longer handle and two pegs so it can at least hold with both hands

If you are not super attached to MGS1, I recommend Revol Mini Venom Snake. Comes with more stuff, better paint and sculpt, and most likely cheaper to get now.

One of mine had a leg joint that was super loose and the plastic of the socket was difficult to manipulate to fix. Early Minis had some QC issue. Most of which is an easy fix of heating with water or hair dryer.

I had him when he first came out and ended up selling him. He wasn't BAD, but there was a bunch of little stuff that was annoying, and I didn't have anything else that scaled with him so he was easy to cut loose.
His hips, for instance, were weird. The straps looked great, but they ended up getting tangled up and stuck inside his body more often than not. His arms have the usual revoltech thing where they look good in crazy poses, but they look dumb as shit because they can't really come down to his sides, they're always sticking out to the sides. I think the thing that bugged me the most was that his feet don't go upwards at all at the ankles, so it made a lot of poses impossible, or at least frustrating.
So yeah. He looks pretty good, but he's flawed in a lot of ways that might or might not matter to you.

Yeah that is a weird flaw many Yamaguchi sculpts seem to share. It's not as bad with Revolver joints since you can pull out the joints a bit to get more clicks, but with Mini you shouldn't.

To be fair, it's almost always a non-issue because revoltechs usually have toe joints. Minis are just too small for them.
I've been thinking of sprucing up Raiden. It seems like a neat idea, but painting isn't really my expertise, and I don't feel like losing $60 for a new one.
