just opened up mafex Vader. was wondering if his head actually moves or if it's fused to his shoulders. shoulders are super articulated, so it's not terrible, but I feel that detail should have been included in the 6" Vader pros and cons lists that go around.
I don't want to waste a bunch of time trying to hot water it if it is stuck that way.

Man. 5poa depresses me to Hell and back. I loved Clone Wars so I wasn't wanting to pass on Rex...and the uh, guys...look well sculpted. But man you get these and you can't do shit with them really.
It's worse when they have a leg that isn't quite level, so then you're really boned, you don't have a knee joint to help stabilize them. Ahsoka's figure is the worst of it. That square skirt keeps her legs from doing much moving at all.
So yeah. These look fine...but once I got them out, I'm just like "Well, I have these now."

I just want to say the S.H figuarts battledroid is my favorite figure of all time! and if you dont have him then you should!! hes a really expressive fun to pose guy, I love him and can't wait for the color variants and hope dearly that they come with different weapons like rocket launcher/sniper etc just like the battlefront droids ..even if those weapons arn't exactly canon.

Usual Medicom pricing strategy: charge more for something not as well-made as the competition. Their RAH 1/6 line has been notorious for this for years.

I reckon the black series of star wars action figures is some of the best there's been (excluding the hot toys models). Great articulation, and some softgoods in there as well. But the face painting/sculpts quite frequently suck.

Speaking of standards:
I took the robe of of my Zuvio and discovered that it's only part of a figure underneath. The torso is literally just the chest and shoulders attached to the hips via a really shitty piece of articulation. If it had something substantial in there, it wouldn't have been that horrible a toy. At least the legs look like they'd work on something like Rey with a quick pop-and-swap.
It reminded me of taking apart Chewbacca only to discover that the inside of the figure is literally a rod that holds the fur up. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to make a ball-and-socket shaft to give him some more range of movement.

He's tall, beefy, has great articulation, not too tight, not too loose, usually not a fan of the cloth capes, and would've picked up SHF Vader for his rubber cape over Mafex but Mafex's cape is great...I just can't believe Bandai didn't scale Vader correctly

I couldn't stand raiden or snake when I got them, and a year later raiden's one of my favorite toys and snake's been sold. The one figure I regretted the most was this transforming Anakin from III. He was 10 bucks so I could've bought an Anakin and Vader with that money but I decided I wanted the one figure that I could armor up to look like vader. The other sideshow clone commanders are pretty cool (Wolffe, Rex, Bly, Baca, etc). If by 'other than this guy' you mean other than the sideshow clones, then your best bet would be the Phase 1 3.75" Arcs. They're decent figures depending on which version you get. The vintage collection Captain Fordo is great, but if you're planning on mixing him with the other old 3.75" Arc Troopers then it's not such a good idea since hasbro made a completely new mold for the clones that year which were taller and skinnier. I personally say that the Saga Legends arc troopers (the one that came out along with the legacy collection) are the best. Poseable range finder, decent articulation for a 3.75" figure, non-disruptive removable helmet, and a decent paintjob.

Don't feel bad I forgot who that character is, there is a lot of star wars characters who shouldn't have figures for just appearing in background. Some are cool like aliens (nien nunb,dexter jettster,and etc.) Long as it isn't too humanoid without armor I like it.

Constable Zuvio got edited out of TFA, but they made the figures before the movie was released. I only see him, Finn and Flametroopers. I think the only one I'm really looking for is Rey at this point. I haven't been impressed with the post-TFA 6" Black figures. It seems like the quality went downhill fast on those.

You'll either have to pay $40 or get lucky. Boba and Jango will be impossible in stores since they're not in current assortments unless something has changed. Rey and Phasma you might find. I came across 3-4 Phasmas the other day, but didn't get her since I didn't like the quality.
If there's a Target around you, they're a good place to try, especially a larger store in a suburb that doesn't get shopped much.
