Do you think I could fit all this in a Detolf if I put the evas on top of the whole thing?
That'd easily fit in a detolf. Just be sure to use risers and utilize all 4 shelves so it doesn't look like a clusterfuck.
>>5568395
What dimension of risers fit?
Not super up to date but . . .
>>5568391
Need to take a new picture, have a ton of more stuff that I've gotten since this pic was taken.
>>5568412
Is that Black Widow a Legends figure?
>>5568463
She is indeed. From the Winter Soldier wave I believe.
>>5568459

>>5568459
SEIG ZEON!
This isn't everything.
>>5568604
I happened to catch a good auction on eBay a few years ago and got it for less than $100.
The new stuff I have that isn't in the picture include
>Zakrello, 2x GM version 2, Char's Zaku II Battle of L/Roum, TR1 Hazel, Char's RX78-2, Titans Colors RX78-2, Garma Zabi's Zaku II and Dopp, Dozzle Zabi's Zaku II and Dopp, Marasai, Titans Hi Zack, EFSF Hi Zack,
And a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head.
If I win the auction I just bid on I'll have a second Jegan and Base Jabber and a Full Armor Nu Gundam with booster bed on the way. Also got another GM version 1 yesterday.
>>5568613
>SEIG ZEON!
Ghiren did nothing wrong.
>>5568412
You're that anon with the tastefully small collection. What does your updated collection look like?
>>5568683
I get that a lot.
>>5568699
Pretty similar to that except with two more Shinkis (Merienda and Partio Prototype), SHF Krillin, ML Batroc and a Figma horse. I keep telling myself that I'll keep my collection small and that I'll sell to add but now I have two more figures and a Nendoroid set on the way.
>>5568459
Crush the Feddie scum
>>5568696
Dirtmcgirl is that you?
>>5568715
Are you the anon that's had the Merienda for a while and just unpacked her?
>>5568737
How do you deal with dust?
>>5568765
I am indeed. Sad to say that there don't seem to be many Merienda owners to confuse me with.
Moving soon. Only things that need to be hand carried left.
Working on my living room display, pardon the mess. Hoping to get two more Detolfs and some slimmer bookcases/shelves.
>>5568791
Spoon Armor is a bit of a tough sell, even if she's cute.
>>5569016
But she's a cute redhead wearing what is essentially a maid costume. What's not to like?
i'm happy with my stuff at this point
but who knows what might change in the future
>>5569041
what size acrylic risers are those?
once again nothing new in this one but i like posting it
>>5569045
pretty sure they are 4 and 5 inch risers. the short ones on the top are low profile ones cant remember the size
So anons I need advice, I'm stuck right now between getting a second one of these large hexagonal cases (which I enjoy a lot) or knowing that another anon says I'm not utilizing the space in this display to the best of my ability, have the alternative to instead pick up a cheap set of detolfs and risers to complement my growing collection.
What say you?
>>5569062
do you want more space or better consistency?
>>5568865
>that fat Dedede
Oh shit anon where'd you get that?
I'm using floating shelves and a hodgepodge of other things for my collection at the moment. I'm going to be moving within the year so I plan on getting a better display setup.
I'm fairly new to collecting, and I just recently learned something the hard way. Don't get a toy just because you like the character. I got Garruk and chandra, they're terrible garbage. I've come to terms with that and will do proper research next time. As well as be more selective in general
Now the question is, when I get rid of them to make space, how should I go about it? Give them to someone? Goodwill donation? electric skillet?
>>5569091
Whoops, forgot one last poc
>>5568865
>>5569072
>>5569121
Detolf's would allow you to place more cabinets in a space than hexagonal cabinet but to be honest I'd rather have your display than my detolf.
>>5569126
Well I will keep that in mind, the second hex cabinet isn't a sure thing yet due to a finicky craigslist seller.
>>5568391

This is mine I know I really need to install some led lights in there

No. I've bought from them though.

But it's a nice collection, not a cluster fuck. You did good. For a basic bitch.
>>5569547
How am I basic bitch? Because I don't own a figure from some random Japanese anime and collect from popular franchises?
>>5569581
More or less yes.
Look man there is no shame in being a basic bitch, and as far as basic bitches go you look like you might be near the upper crust of basic bitches.
By the way you can also be a basic bitch if you collect Jap crap, it isn't exclusively western.
>>5569515
Actually really nice.

>>5569501

Not him and I'm basing this on what I heard when I briefly browsed /fa/ but a basic bitch is someone who follows the basic rules of aesthetics without ever trying to push it to form their own style, or wearing 'statement pieces' for fear they might clash. So I guess with collecting it'd be like someone who sticks to one line, franchise or genre without some random shit thrown in there that you try to make work.
>>5569506

Not everything I have "collection wise" but at least 90% of the transformers .
>>5571840
Why are Transformers collections literally always un-posed clusterfucks?
>>5568810
what are those. they are looking neat
>>5571856
Because transformers collectors are bros and not nearly as autistic as you.
>>5571856
1.>>5571916 this
2.As a much cheaper collection by comparison, they tend to have larger numbers in collections, thus the room for posing is much more limited. Exactly how should I pose the primes? The only reason there is a small amount of room at the front is because I didn't realize my RTS prime was at my computer desk.
3. Because they are almost never in dynamic poses to begin with, the most they pose is during the transformations in armada or something, they usually hold there guns at hip height and shoot stock video at each other.
>>5571856
They tend to be the lowest IQ collectors on the board.

A small portion of a larger problem. Still on the hunt for Snow bell Miku and Kogitsunemaru and then I might be done for a bit.

>>5570857
8" clothed Neca
>>5572027
Overall, excellent! I never knew I needed a Linda Hamilton figure, but hey it's pretty nice. Minor quirks, her right leg hip joint only swings outward, not forward. I thought maybe it was just frozen, but it does appear to be an entirely different joint design than the one on the left.
I wanted to display her without the tactical vest, but it's glued together. It can be carefully be pulled apart without any cutting, but it will need to be re-glued if it is ever put back on.
I like how realistically her palms come together for holding the pistol.
If you have alternates, find the one with the best paint application on her sunglasses, it varies quite a bit from figure to figure. My favorite head though is ponytail/bangs head.
I'm intending on building a Terminator collection with the excellent releases NECA has had recently. Sarah will be a great part of the future collection for sure.
>>5572380
>I like how realistically her palms come together for holding the pistol.
/k/ here, she's actually teacupping really badly and it makes her look like a generic blonde bimbo shooting her boyfriend's Deagle Brand Deagle for the first time.
>>5571856
Because Transformers heavily subsidizes a "catch 'em all!" mentality.
I'm collecting the IDW comics myself and only the volume prices and the fact that Roches' art doesn't translate to the toys very well keeps me from raiding local TRUs.

Why do you have stuff hidden behind things like Hyrule Historia and the Gameboy? Id move HH out behind the Triforce on the right unless its helping hold up Link and Epona

yeah i get them online, check out the regular import sites like amiami, hobbysearch, hobbylink, even mandarake has em.I think they have G Gundam ones but not converge it was another gashapon set.
What's the best way to display blister packs? Some sort of custom peg setup? I figure acrylic stands sort of like how old people display plates, but where would I get those outside of going to a commercial display wholesaler (which I've done for risers)?
>>5576002
Build a planogram'd peg system like in the stores. It looks like shit anyways displaying stuff in the package, might as well double down on making it horrible.
>>5571856
As fun as Transformers might be to play with, they've got to be shit to pose.
How do you make a stationary model of a giant red and blue rectangle (with the limited articulation of a cheap toy) look cool?
>>5576060
Actually most transformers are decently poseable (at least the larger figures, Deluxe-class and up)
They just don't really get much out of posing due to the anatomy so there's really no point. Even the Revoltechs with all their swappable hands and such don't really look very dynamic.
>>5575925

>>5577139
Hey thanks.
Since someone here likes the Protomen I guess I'll tell the story I mentioned here >>5574385
So at the 2015 MAGfest me and a friend went to the Protomen show where they were doing all covers. It was fucking fantasic and all that, but at the very end of the show, Panther gets up to the mic and goes through his whole "thanks for coming out" thing, but then he announces that The Cover Up was being released RIGHT NOW. My friends turns to me and just goes "HOLY SHIT". So we book it down to their booth. My friend didn't have any cash on him, but I did and managed to be one of the first 10 or so people to buy and listen to the album. Normally I'd just keep that cassette tape with the rest of my music, but it's special to me.
The walkman's story is cooler though. So the day after that my friend goes out to buy the album. He was cosplaying as Star-Lord and was borrowing that walkman from me. Some time passes and he throws open the hotel room door and just says "Dude I got some shit to tell you"
So according to him, when he bought the album he did this little thing where he took out the blank tape from the player, tossed it over his shoulder, and slapped in The Cover Up. This got Murphy's attention and he stopped my friend and was like "yo wait there I got something to tell you". So Murphy talks to some other folks for a sec and then move over to my friend. He takes my friend's picture and then tells him the whole meaning behind the Cover Up, something nobody knew at the time. Apparently my friend wasn't supposed to tell anyone, but he was so excited he told me, and then I posted it about it later online. Whoops.

What's with cassettes coming back?
>>5577324
I don't know about that, but The Protomen had a specific reason for making that album on a cassette for the initial release

And why not? Because it triggers your autism?
>>5577526
>And why not?
Because it looks bad, nothing to do with autism.
>>5577563
>nothing to do with autism
Oh, of course not!
>>5577578
>I put my figures in front of books BUT YOU'RE the autistic one.
Good job ignoring the first half of my comment.
And I've just noticed your boxes on display.
>>5577595
That's not even my pic, bro. Just pointing out that it's not a big deal and geeks like you who REEEEE at it are cancer.
>>5577578
You don't need autism to recognize when something's tacky.
>>5577604
>saying it looks bad is REEEEing
Not him but are you new? Have you never had someone sperg out on you in a thread? Because that's nothing in comparison. There are people on here who will cyberstalk you for recommending a store they don't like.

>>5577613
how can you cyber stalk anonymous users?
>>5577993
>he doesn't know about steroid use amongst hackers
>>5577993
Same way they get doxed, the anonymous user has to fuck up first. It's more common in generals where users are semi recognizable and sometimes using an irc or a facebook group or subreddit or some shit connected to it.
