Thanks, and I'll be sure to post pics. I'm intending to make her a little cloak when she gets here to make her extra menacing. I was torn between her, Strarf Bis and Zelnogrard, but I needed a villain for Espadia and Lancamento (who is also arriving soon hopefully) to fight, which Zelnogrard looks too cute for. As for Strarf Bis, she just looked a bit plain next to Strarf Lavina's sexy, sexy white and red.
In other news, I recently watched up to ep 6 of the anime. This shit is hilarious, if occasionally cringeworthy. The Shinki snatcher episode had some great action and made me want to buy the trike sisters (so I guess it's doing its job?). The racing episode was probably my favourite, with Ia's constant twisting of the rules and Mary Celes' foul-mouthed antics (and of course more Tamami and Potchi, which is always good). The beach episode was probably the weakest (because LOLBEACHEPISODE) but it did have some cute moments, and the "Aw crap, it's the wrong case!" bit simultaneously had me smacking my head and laughing. The terrorist episode was pretty good too.
Overall though I'm enjoying it, though I do have to skip the OP and ED as quite frankly they're just painfully generic and grating.

With the scope naturally expanding with the sister lines (new kits, Frame Arms Girls, Desktop Army, and god willing Megami Devices sometime this year) why wouldn't we want to talk about other similar stuff? They all fall in line with the palm sized fighting robot girls theme. Assault Lilly not so much, but who cares. Shinkis already wear Picco Neemo clothes so you can just pretend they fit. I used to be against non-Shinki things in the Shinki threads but honestly, it's not that big of a deal.

The ghost episode was...chilling. Poor Ines. I was half expecting her to be straight-up murdered. Hilariously enough, the twist that her master was actually dead was the least freaky thing about the whole episode. Also, now I want a Fubuki.
The Humanized Ann episode was kinda dumb but still pretty adorable.
The Abandoned Shinkis episode was actually pretty great. Surprisingly grim, though only by the standards of the otherwise very light and fluffy series. I was a bit disappointed that Empress Claudi was yet another Eukrante though. I guess they must have been wanting to save money through asset reuse, but I would have preferred a more grandiose/evil looking Shinki like Graffias or even Murmeltier as an evil overlord. A minor nitpick in what was otherwise a great episode but worth noting.
So here's a question: If through some miracle we got a second season, what plots for episodes would you guys like to see?

I simply disregarded her as just a combination piece for tigris at first. That is what she is, but she is actually quite fun. Her face might not be as pleasing as others but, I also think it did well for its time. The armor Can be fun and the girl has a few different hair combinations as well. Though not as busty as fish tits, I found her quite charming in person. Her rounder chest piece is actually quite nice. Her hair pieces are very fun to put on other similar colored hair shinkis, and she can make a good sentry turret. (I liked the combo tho. Its why i got her in the first place.)

Yeah, looking at some better pics of her she isn't SO bad I guess. That stock photo kinda made her look like the pod connected directly into her lower body, giving her an enormous stomach, as opposed to how it actually is (giving her a little recessed seat in the pod connected to her thigh joints). I did a bit of research and the pod is supposed to be a hover device I think?
It's still not my favourite Shinki design by a long shot, and the alternate face is still creepy as hell (though I do like the standard face quite a bit) but perhaps she isn't as bad as I first thought. I think if the pod were a bit bigger she'd look a bit better to be honest.

A lot of shinkis I disliked grew on me once I owned them. But even if i like the calf gal, you are right. there a lot better designed shinks. The pod is quite big already In my opinion. I was planning on repainting her faces though, along with a lot of other shinks.
The most disappointing shink that i've gotten has honestly been Altines. She is adorable, but it feels like its only the girl that makes it. The armor is so goddamn fiddly and annoying to deal with. Posing has been troubling. Still really cool otherwise though. Maybe mine was just bad?

Grapprap is one I really want- she reminds me of the power loader from Aliens. I wish they'd released her as a full set rather than just an EX addon kit. magaki ryohta did design a cow type. story was she was modified off a ianeira type, and reworked to have extremely long battery life, plus being able to recharge other shinkis. she was a one-off piece made as an "event companion" by magic market. the mods made her incompatible with most equipment, unfortunately.
apparently her AI changed from the default ianeira program to a more placid persona on it's own, boggling the engineers.
also the "brown cow" colors posted above were a color variation. the style magaki originally posted was this holstein pattern. name was "limnoreia" or some permutation thereupon, given the L/R shenanigans when you try to romanize shit.
he also designed a "light armor" shinki derived from euk. key feature was a bigass rifle. name was "Speio". pic in a minute.

Eh, not exactly. We have an abundance of Vinyl talk too, with DDs, Picco/Pure Neemo, and Pullips. Assault Lily bodies are pretty much the same as Picco Neemos, with the newer AL bodies being better at posing.

I use photoshop, but I've been using it for more than 20 years. There's lots of hacks and tricks I've learned for making comics with it, and I wouldn't recommend it as a starter program. It's just not designed for comic making.
If you're going into it cold, I'd recommend GIMP to process the photos, and maybe something like manga studio for the paneling and text, but I don't know if that's free.

There are a few fairly affordable Shinkis, mostly older ones or smaller, less heavily armed ones. Benio and Xiphos are quite cheap and well armed but not as cute as some of the others. Ironically, the limited edition versions of Maochao and Howling are quite cheap at the moment, though they don't come with the same armour as their normal counterparts.
Check on Mandarake and look to see which ones you like the look of for a good price.

Gourai re-release just got here from Nippon-yassan. It's a straight re-release and uses the same skirt as the original for those curious.

I didn't get the original, so I'm not a hundred percent sure if this is what you mean, but the PC runner that has all the balls for the ball and socket joints is made of the flexible, almost rubbery plastic. All other runners are hard plastic.

Gourai is the only FAG I don't have yet, haha. I didn't get to finish painting blue Materia yet either, and some parts I did work on need to be redone. Pink needs to be painted too, but school, family, work, and derpiness from seizures are causing delays.
