That's pretty silly. I enjoyed the Animated aesthetic, but there's plenty of people that dislike it who aren't obsessed with G1. That's one of the cool things about Transformers, you can have drastically different looking lines, but no line will please everyone.

Really? I only just bought my first version of it with MP-11T, and while I like it, I don't think I would ever willingly buy it again. I had long been holding out for them to give the Seeker mold another try, but it seems they're content with repainting/retooling it to high heaven, so I caved when I saw light blue Thundercracker. Same reason I've yet to buy an MP Grimlock. As revered as the mold is, it seems pretty dated.

-Shoulderpads don't cover the white part of the upper arm completely in ape mode
-The gorilla chest and face are too blueish and the fingers don't have the same color (they should)

Most of the Animated toys are close enough without needing the MP treatment IMO. Sculpts are alright, articulation is usually adequate if not amazing, so on. It's not even close to the jump from G1 to MP Sideswipe or something. Even less room for improvement than Optimus Primal, and there's already plenty of people in the "it's not *that* different" camp despite the positive feedback.
