Just going by what's been shown so far, it seems to be mostly the old mold with some cosmetic changes to match the Civil War costume. The only wholly new things are the head sculpts.

The entire costume sculpt is different if you compare them closely, but the engineering is identical. They seem to have just reskinned and refined the previous design, and tossed in a couple of new heads with the digital printing tech.

First of all that's an S.H.Figuarts Shadow Trooper. Second of all I don't know what you consider a silly price but they started at 7500 JPY. If you're an S.H.Figuarts Star Wars kind of guy then you should definitely grab two of them for your collection. Unlike the super glossy Stormtrooper it's got a nice matte finish that really looks great, but otherwise it's the same exact figure in new fancy con-exclusive packaging.

Elegant Mode had a separate card at Tamashii Nations, it's a separate release though honestly I wouldn't get your hopes up for it unless this version turns out to be insanely popular for some reason.

But Happy and Heart were the last two standard releases and they both shelfwarmed hard. The really shitty quality of past releases hurt the line's reputation immensely. I think Freddie looks fine. Pretty much went through the same technique Bruce even with approach to the body (ex relying on the color of thenpladtic more than paint).
I think he is just underwhelming to some because he is just a musician. Yes, while musicians can be quite the live entertainers and showboaters, they still can't seem to stir the same excitement as stars from action/cape/toku media as action figures.
For me that makes Freddie a plus, though. On top of being Freddie, he can pull of being a normal looking person in SHF scale (hard to come by) because he is not some bombastic live action star. Adds more variety in the types of photos you can take with your super heroes.
Makes me hope Bandai touches Back to the Future and does Marty McFly. He has a normal look but one that has such a caricature-esque flare you can find in tokusatsu wardrobe that he almost belongs next to tokusatsu heroes.
