I am Japanese and did grow up with the brand. And I still love the candy and associated merch. But this Nendo is just fucking ugly. Somehow the charm of the drawings did not translate into 3D well. Peko-chan is typically drawn with legs of that length or so, but it just doesn't look right in toy form...I think this could have been a lot more charming with stumpier, more stylized SD legs. And that face is just...wrong looking. The lower half of her face should bulge out more and the spacing of her features is all wrong. They gave her sort of generic Nendo anime face proportions, and I get it, the line has its own style, but when you're dealing with a very simple iconic character, you don't want to fuck with the formula too much. Or you end up with...this.

It's mostly a mid-west-Great Lakes thing. And also California too. Big Boy used to have a bigger distribution. I remember as a child going to the Big Boy restaurant in Rochester, NY. But it's closed down now.
Also, according to Wiki, there's about 200+ Big Boy restaurants in Japan. So there's a possible chance for a Big Boy nendo sometime in the future.
