Just got Black Series Hux off of eBay this week for $29, as well as two non-officer Snowtroopers from BBTS for $19. Been looking for these figures for ages in stores, glad I finally have them.
I also received my SH Figuarts Phasma this week.
Going to pose Hux with the snowtroopers and all of my regular Black Series/Figuarts FO Stormtroopers with my Figuarts Kylo, as well as Phasma, just don't know if I'll use Black Series Phasma or Figuarts phasma.

I actually really like Hux. He's got nice articulation everywhere, especially in his head/neck joint, his trenchcoat doesn't get in the way of any poses at all, and he can easily do a bunch of "commanding" poses like you see in my pic.
Only complaint is that the paint app on the hair is flat and lacks depth, and its a little too yellow and not red/orange/ginger enough.
Would def pick him up if you're like me and you want your troops to be commanded by someone.

I know the V sign isn't from ep 1, I just watched the prequels again the other day. The thing is that's just a hand gesture, it doesn't seem outrageous to think that Obi-wan wouldve done that gesture as a padawan. The problem with the EP3 head is that his dress changes slightly between the films, as I'm sure you already know since you made that comment. It's a little more jarring/out of place than a hand gesture.
With that being said I wouldn't mind an ep3 head to put on the padawan body. It wouldn't bother me too much, especially with a custom robe or something, but I can see where the autists might be up in arms.

they changed sometime between 30th anni and the vintage collection. There are decent clones all the way from 2003.
I think they became slightly thinner and nearly all of them starting getting removable helmets, but they all mix together pretty well and are reasonably proportionate. Clones haven't really dated the same way some other figures have. They've had decent articulation since the beginning. I use sites like jeditemplearchives.com to compare all the 3.75 stuff and see which one has the best overall look/articulation etc

You know how Figuarts have those plastic protectors? Well my Captain a Phasma had a giant one on her back, and when it removed it left adhesive residue behind. I removed it to the best of my ability, but the paint has been permanently damaged. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's kind of fucked up that the only good alien designs were the few we saw from previous movies (Chewie, Ackbar, Nien Nunb) or scrapped McQuarrie art (Hassk Thugs). Even decent ones like Asty and Babbajo have characters in the Clone Wars series that look extremely similar. There's a Bounty Hunter in season 3 that looks a lot like Asty and season 2 has this old ass jedi detective that looks a lot like Babbajo.

I speak from experience, as I took off my 1/6 scaled Barris' clothes off for a failed custom project. Pic related.
She literally has no feet. Her boots were glued on to her shins and a footless stump. The stump broke off when I removed the boots and the rubber boots tore off from all the glue slathered on them.
Also, she has no hair under her hood. And as you can see the dye in her clothes stained her body permanently.
So yeah, I ruined my QT Barris just by removing her boots, which seems like a stupid oversight on Hasbro's part.

I can attest, having passed on the BS R2 a shitload of times in the past, that the model kit has sharper details. If you want the dome in a lighter shade of silver, the BB8/R2 version is a few shades lighter than the R5/R2 version. And the kit is really satisfying to build and have. Worth the time and money, even without paint.
Also, you could just spray paint the dome on sprues with some Rustoleum for plastic.

I want to get one of the BMK troopers, but I have to admit the SHF version, even with all the niggling accuracy issues and limited hip movement, has become (and I stress 'become', I left it in the box for several days and nearly flipped it on Ebay upon receiving it) one of my favourite figures. Just ordered a second one.
I can't really explain why I like it so much, but it's like everything I wanted a Stormtrooper toy to be when I was five years old and had the old 5poa Kenner figure. He's got a lot of personality when you start posing him, the white finish is beautiful and he reminds me a little of the old Marvel Star Wars comic art.
I'm sure certain people will unload on this hot opinion with both barrels, and I fully acknowledge it's not by any objective standard a great figure, I just really like it for some reason.

If you like the Rebels cartoon, then yes, definitely. His sculpt is great with some character to it. Unlike most of the black figures, Hasbro had some leeway in making a lifelike sculpt from a cartoon character.

Hmm, interesting news. The price seems too low for a 6" scale AT-AT, yet too high for a 3.75" scaled one. Guess the price jump is being justified by the app controlled aspects of it, which don't really interest me. Already absolutely love the old BAT-AT, and the ol' gal takes up enough space as it is, so it's tough to see me buying another 3.75" scale AT-AT. 6" scale would have me much more interested though, and I can see a slim chance of it happening to coincide with the Black Series AT-AT driver and OT Snowtrooper release!
The pricing kinda makes me think it could be a Black Series Resistance X-wing too. Give it a weathered blue/white paint scheme, throw in an exclusive 6" pilot & astromech (Nien Nunb or Jess Pava as pilots would be great!) plus a working droid slot, and I'll buy it.
Well, will wait and see how it turns out. To be honest, the vehicle I want the most right now is a 3.75" scale FO Stormtrooper Transport. I love troop transports, I like the simple design of the space-Higgins boat, and I have a ton of troopers that could use transport.
