Haha, the very first MG kit I built was the Rick Dom. Definitely picking up the RD, but I may wait for Mandarake.
After a brief (but super intense!) build, we've got an adorable little Kshatriya! Two baggies of parts are for converting to the Besserung variant, which I'll check out another time.
A couple things that stood out to me: first, I was very impressed by the quality of the paint job. Very neat and clean. Secondly, the binders are great with some cool rotation articulation, and you have even have two options for how you mount the binders (at rest like I've got it, or spread outwards).

Nippon-Yasan usually charges a small premium of about 600JPY above retail for web exclusives, which is pretty good. Conversely, their shipping rates are kind of poor, I'd wager they're going to charge like 1800JPY for RSAL.
So all told, I'd estimate you'll be looking at around 14000JPY shipped.
Size comparison with an RD and the Sinanju Converge. Ah, another thing I noticed about Kshatriya is that its command spike is a rigid plastic.

I will remove the protective plastic bits eventually, haha. I don't have a good place for this guy right now, so just took him out of the tray with the intent to put him back after checking him out.
To be honest it's a little smaller than I'd expected (that's what she said! wait...), but it's still one big RD and I also haven't attached the rear binders which would bulk it up.
Was pleased to find that new Xi is in fact fully painted, and the paint job is flawless as are all the awesome little tampo details! Looks absolutely gorgeous. Joints are all strong as well, though as anon noted in the last thread the ankles don't feel quite as tight. Not loose or anything, just not as stiff as the other joints feel.
Overall I'm loving this guy so far. Gotta open a spot for him so I can fully equip him!

I really like the RD MK-II. I like the proportion changes from the HGUC. This Ka Signature FA-178 looks exactly like the Gundam Fix RX-178, which came with FA parts.
Its obviously no surprise, GFF and Ka Signature are both done by Katoki. The Ka Signature with offer a slight improvement with 2016 level quality, but not enough to justify me buying it when i have the GFF FA-178. That is why I like the regular RD RX-178, it has proportions that are not a copy of a Gunpla or existing toy. Those proportions are not everyones cup of tea, but they are my cup of tea.
If the A.N.I.M.E. line is a success, I'm sure they will do Zeta MS, and the Zeta and MK-II are guaranteed for that, so that version of the MK-II should be more to your liking.

Penny pinching snappers =/= everyone in gunpla
I am more into Gunpla than action figures, but I bought 2 of the Ka line, the Nero and the MK-V, because their quality is closer to gunpla than it is the shitty MSIA toys I saw for years, so I think your idea that modelers are not buying Ka toys is way off, especially when some resin models run as high or higher than these Ka releases. I have Gundam resin kits more expensive than them.
That fact the Ka line has Gundam Sentinel releases also shows its modeler interest, as Sentinel is a favorite in gunpla since it was a story based on models in Model Graphix magazine, instead of the usual Gundam anime that gunpla usually comes from. Plus the Ka line has waterslide decals, which is usually only reserved for Gunpla. So they definitely have the Gunpla crowd in mind.

char's Zaku looks great but I'm really disappointed with how the bazooka effect part turned out in comparison to the advertisements. It just looks like a big grey lump now. Probably gonna have to paint it myself so it doesn't look so terrible. Even so, can't wait to get mine.
How often are the Wing RD's reprinted? Are they even? If they aren't, what should I be paying for them? Ive seen Heavyarms for like 100+

Got this guy a few weeks ago. Pretty fun figure to pose and plenty of accessories to mess around with. Although it does feel a bit light and fiddly.

RDs that get reissues are uncommon, and unfortunately I don't think we'll see any Wing reissues any time soon. Keep an eye on Mandarake, Heavryarms pops up there now and then for a much more reasonable price. I believe Mandy has been pricing Heavyarms in the 5000-6000JPY range as of late.
It's a superb RD by the way, absolutely worth picking up if you get the chance!

Yes! The Dragonar releases are excellent. My knowledge of the show is also very limited, but the designs are just so strong that I've now bought every single Dragonar RD, haha.
I'd recommend grabbing a Falguen for your Dragonar-1 to square off against!

Registered SAL (aka RSAL) is usually around 800-900JPY for a single RD, and you can add like 500JPY or so for every additional RD in the same shipment. Not too bad at all, and it's a very reliable service.
Unregistered SAL is like 400JPY cheaper, but you get no tracking or insurance (and Mandarake only offers RSAL anyways).
One on the right is the Stark Deins, and yeah it's totally sweet! Just check out that awesome snake emblem, and yes, it has wrist chainsaws!

The only nitpick I can say I have is that I don't like the little cut-away detail they added near the vents on the helmet. It's nothing major, but I think it would look a little better if it were smooth.

That would be fucking 10/10, especially with how compatible they're likely going to be going forward. We already have the explosion and rocket effect, and with the rectangular hard points, it's definitely going to be standard.
At least they aren't jamming multiple ANIME releases into the same month, right now they seem reasonably spaced out. I'm definitely going to be keeping up as they release, and picking up multiples of the grunts from Mandarake and other sites.

Not true. There's only one set of hands for the rifle and bazooka. The other two "weapon-holding" hands are for the beam sabers. One to hold the sabers straight, and another to hold them at an angle.
With Gundam Unicorn being rereleased as a series, hopefully we will see more RD MS from it, hoping for Delta Plus and ReZel.

That fabuously goofy, rotund creature is a Savage, from Full Metal Panic! It's a goofy, robust lil' grunt unit and its RDs (for the sand colored desert model, grey colored urban model, and white-and-blue Arbalest-alike model with two huge ass warhammers) are gloriously simple, but capable. Lots of little covered ports to add accessories on, which the entire FMP line is more-or-less cross compatible with, and they're just adorably expressive.
The S.H.Figuarts Battle Droid from Star Wars is kind of similar in how simple, posable, and expressive it can be.

UC has a whole spinoff line devoted to it. Now we're getting recolors like G3 and Char Dom. The G3 doesn't even come with anything the Gundam didn't already come with.
SEED is the other thing dominating the line. If they announce something that isn't UC, SEED or IBO before the next Nations event I'd be surprised. But even if they did it would probably just be an Exia variant.

Look, there are many other stuff I want, like more stuff from Code Geass. Akito the Exiled just finished, and theres plenty of stuff they can do. Alexander is one of my all time favorite RDs, and its got multiple variants. Theres the Vercingetorix. Theres the Oz the Reflection manga, which had more prototypes showed off.
I'd love if every KMF got made eventually. I'd buy them all, some in multiples.
But that desire doesn't keep me from enjoying what we are getting.

Out of SRC Getter and RD Shining, I'd honestly say I like Getter a bit more. Shining has some looseness in his right leg for me and compared to an SRC the posing is a little limited. Then there's also the sexy sense of weight that comes with die cast.
You can't go wrong with either though, so if you like Shining more go with him.

You're right. There's no real paint to speak of on it. It's pretty much just a grey piece that's semi translucent.
All the other effects are spot on, though.
Kado Senshi Chogokin Gundam and Zaku came in today. Zaku was red, so no biggie, but obviously the Gundam has yellowed.
Is there a way clean the plastic and unyellow it without having to paint over?
Or do i just leave it all yellow for that "vintage" (1999, lol) feel.

That's unfortunate... I kinda felt the same way about the flamethrower effect that came with Todd's Drumlo. The promo-shots made it look more like a gradient of yellow to a deep orange, but the piece is pretty much just one shade of translucent medium orange.

Very cool anon. I've never heard of this line, can you tell us more about it? What sets it apart? I dig that sculpt, and it seems to have some nice glossy/metallic paint apps.
As for the yellowing, can you tell if the yellowed areas ABS plastic? If they are, and if you can disassemble the figure down to just its affected plastic parts (or as much as possible), then you could use hydrogen peroxide to whiten them.
What you do is fill a glass jar with enough hydrogen peroxide to submerge the part you want to treat. Place the part inside, then cover the jar with some saran wrap. Place the jar outside in direct sunlight and eventually you'll see bubbles forming all over the part, that's the whitening reaction in action! After a couple hours, your part should be noticeably whitened.
You'd want try this with a small, out of the way part first though, and if the parts are not ABS or they're painted, then you should not try this. Frankly, I think the guy looks pretty good in your shot!
