Is anyone else experiencing an unusual scarcity of SW buildable figures? specifically the first order stormtroopers. Pretty much every single departgment store in my area has no stock of them, and I fear there's some scalping involved.
I had to get one from a toy store that sells everyhing lego above MSRP. I have mixed feelings about this.

My vote for piece(s, technically) of the year goes to the 2x2 (left and right) wedge plates.

However I'm retroactively changing my vote to the 1l bar with towball IF and only if tlg decides to release it in a fucking sensible color like black, white or bley.

Honorable mention to the 1x2x2 inverted curved slope.

2016 has been a great year for new pieces.

What's your villain level, /lg/?

Criminal Mastermind Tier
>Bought a set on clearance at one store and returned/exchanged it for full MSRP at another (bonus points for price matching on top of this)
>Loaded a cart full of sets and pushed it out the garden center to a waiting getaway car
>Bought a set, removed the contents and returned the set full of random LEGO, Megabloks, Trash, Wood, etc.

Supervillain Tier
>Broke into a set in store and took entire bags from it
>Broke into a set in store and stuffed it with other pieces/bags/sets
>Broke into a set in store and stuffed its contents into a cheap clearance toy box

Scum Tier
>Ripped open polybags/CMF pouches and pocketed the contents
>Ripped open a set just for one piece or minifig

Crook Tier
>Pocketed pieces from Pick-A-Brick or Minifig Tower bins
>Pockets pieces from already busted open sets

Wow It's Fucking Nothing Tier
>Falsly requested pieces from LEGO directly claiming they were missing
>Pocketed stray pieces strewn on the floor or shelves

I've ordered those from sellers that have, at the lowest, a 99.98% feedback rating.

Greetings,

Question to lego veterans: I want to build the Skull's Eye Schooner, but don't like the cost on ebay... would it be cheaper to buy an Enlightened Bricks "knock off" black seas barracuda and buy the rest of the bricks from lego individually (as well as certain bits off ebay)... or cheaper to just buy the Schooner?

Rather new to lego.
>>
>>5555742
http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?id=4905

This is probably cheaper than anything you'll find on ebay.
>>
>>5555739
Yes. It's Lego.
>>
>>5555747

Cost is roughly the same.

In answer to my original question, would it be cheaper to go about it with my method?
>>
>>5555758
Yes it would, and honestly china has lego beat now when it comes to pirates, both as a theme and the builds themselves.
>>
>>5555760

I agree, the price of their knock off black seas barracuda was very satisfying, and the quality of the bricks was good: the minifigs are rather poor, but beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks for the help!
>>
>>5555767
If you need certain pieces, Bricklink will probably be cheaper than ebay.

I have it. I only kept the TARDIS and the daleks though, and sold the minifigures.

It's OK. I just have the TARDIS built as a standalone entity and didn't bother with the interior, but I intend to mod it so you can open the door or something.

The printed pieces are good but unless you're a fan of the most recent seasons I don't know that I'd bother.
>>
>>5555810
I haven't gotten around to the absolute newest season, but I think the tardis itself looks pretty cool.
>>
>>5555812
Yeah, I had an opportunity to get it for slightly under retail (this was before they restocked it, so the only way to get it was through scalpers charging double) so I bit the bullet and just did it.

I enjoy having a TARDIS, and, since it's not specific to any seasons, it's great for any Doctor Who fan. I enjoy having daleks too, as they're similar in that regard.

So you could always buy it and make the TARDIS interior from your favourite season, or just enjoy the exterior like I do. I stopped caring about the show after Tennent's run so I've been considering doing up a Tenth Doctor figure to go with it.

I got this castle set for my nephew on his first birthday. He is about three now and still a year or so away from using it but I am really looking forward to the day he knows not to try and eat the legos. You see my brother (his father) kind of rekindeled his own love and then my love for legoes. We always got the small sets, the five and ten doller sets when we were kids so since at the time I had plenty of money I splurged at bit for my newphew's birthday. And my brother promised me I will get to be the one who helps him build that castle.

Yeah, I hope he has some sense of structure because my brother fixated on Star Wars Lego when he first found out he was going to be a father. Seriously he got all the desktop sets, those little globes with the tiny ship and pilot that stand side by side. And he has the full sized Lego X-wing. And for Christmas years ago while that was happening I got him the lego Hoth set with the ice cave, wammpa, and the snow speeder.

I was playing with the idea of introducing the idea to my nephew of picking a curtain lego man to represent himself when we play too. I got the idea from Mii's with Nintendo and how it feels seeing yourself doing things in the games. Now suddenly it just won't be some lego man, it will be a tiny lego HIM flying the X-wing or getting into the hulk-buster armor.

So PolandBro, I've come across...disturbing news. I looked up and attempted to quote other Poland-based stores for them to send some some old Chima and Ninjago foil packs on Registered Letter Mail, the same way you sent the Lance figs to me.

Out of 5 stores that I asked shipping quotes from 3 of them said that, apparently, Canada REJECTS registered lettermail from Poland, which is why my order still hasn't come through. It's late in the night here in Canada, so I'll give the ol' Canada Post Support team a call, and maybe, at least, it was returned back to you.

I've pocketed small-medium regular sets bags too, letting the empty box behind, but here's the trick, I usually hide the box in other section of the store (where you find towels, bathroom gear, etc, basically blind spots)
However, when I find open boxes in the toy aisles I get somehow mad, because people are stupid and are bad at stealing, they let stuff inside. Stuff that is useful, so I "rescue" those parts too. If you sin, at least do it well.
