How does /toy/ display their hotwheels? I would prefer not opening them. I was thinking about using tacs but I don't know where or how i should display them.

Any advice?

Then you should have kept your money.

I've never really understood the appeal of displaying unopened items. Without fail, the collection looks like a display in a comic or hobby shop.
Why not just open a shop OP? Or buy a retail display rack like they have in the store, and display them on it?
It would be like standing in the toy isle, but in your own house! :^)

What part of "would prefer not opening them" somehow twisted into some sort of way of saying "ill sell them"? I don't want to sell them, let me repeat this again...I don't want to sell them. I like the package they come in and it's not like I'm going to play with them, I think the box compliments the cars/decks

>>5549713
I hate you

Real talk: neither of you would keep them in their packages despite it being part of a theme? I mean if I got a regular generic vehicle that's one thing, but we're talking about cars inspired from spiderman/batman and two finger boards.

>Real talk: neither of you would keep them in their packages despite it being part of a theme?
Honestly, no.
>>
>>5551863
Why not? Where did you display your vehicles?
>>
>>5549694
It's always the hot wheels guys...
>>
>>5551890
I'm not following what you mean, plus I have tech decks in that picture. I'm not a hotwheels guy, i only got them because they had to do with things i like.

On a shelf. I have these little chrome Burago Lambos and Ferraris that were exclusives to New York Toy Fair back in '02. I threw away their packaging, and put them on a shelf.
>>
>>5551896
fair enough, I just see the packing as part of it since the spiderman ones are harder to tell. The batman ones however kinda show which generation it's from.

but you're right, i should open them and display them since the packaging is only suppose to be that. Im a bit of a hypocrite when people freak out about boxes being ruined like with Pops and figures but the item itself is just fine.
>>
Here's an idea OP, gently slice off a partof the bubble so you can access the internal toy, but keep the card intact.
>>
Just tac them to the wall...

Depends, if its a mainline hotwheels/matchbox I unbox them and put them in these storage cases, I'd rather a flat option but these are good at saving space, and hell of alot cheaper.

For special ones ie lines with real rider tires or specialist lines like the bmw 8 set what I WANT to do is have a wall with pegs so its as if they're hanging on a shop wall, I too enjoy the artwork on them but since there are shitloads of mainline cars I want I decided that if its not a treasure hunt or a super its out of the box it goes.

Another idea which others I've seen do is make some "card shelves", they slide in and while most of the card artwork is hidden it does display the cars well.

Currently all my carded cars sit in a storage bin until optimal display space is acquired.

Is...there a problem with this?

It makes for a great mancave wall covering than someslut with cow tits on a poster, makes it more friendly to all ages and genders (just incase)

Gotta say the retail rack is a nice idea

>>5552127
This can work, heck there are guys on ebay with custom cards, there is a way to get the blister pack off without any damage to the card.

>>5552704
Maybe use a pinboard...

We're bitching about keeping toys msib but keeping a house wall intact is advised.
>>
>>5549694
i'd keep those spiderman covers ones MIB just because they look kinda cool.

Update, I decided to open them and place them in front of my TV until I can think of a better place for them. Sorry for the potato quality pic, my phone is old. Also ignore the pen, no idea why I kept it there.

Isn't that a little...tacky?

dude you have to go to Jo Ann and get one of the thread organizers. They are like $7 and are the perfect size for having the cars sideways
>>
>>5553117
Nice, they really do look better opened IMO.
>>
>>5553126
Sorry I'm not american so I've never heard of Jo Ann.

Local shops in Australia have them in odd sizes, too wide (they'd roll around too much) or too narrow.

What I posted was the only one that would prevent them from being damaged if moved, and by moved if I have to take a long drive/flight elsewhere
>>
>>5553127
Yeah, after opening them they seemed a lot better looking. That's where I'm leaving them til I get more or if I get one of those wall shelves

>>5553126
I don't think those are good for displaying but for storage purposes.
>>
>>5553147
Why would you take your cars with you for a long drive or flight?
>>
>>5553122
YOU MOTHER FUCKER CARLOS!!!
Good one.

See its fine, you have no intent to sell them so who cares
>>
>>5552748
Their pin holes...the house will be fine, also if its that big of a deal a $2 bucket of plaster works just fine to both fill and cover

By the way this whole tread remains me of dexter.

It's a store, you dumbass. Can't you tell?

No, there are not any price tags on anything and on the far right has a page of card holders with the bombshell variants in each sleeve

Get a tiny shelf for them and make them look like they're in a parking garage
>>
>>5553480
You mean get a tiny shelf for the wall and place them in a slanted position?

Thanks
