I've recently been watching Yu-Gi-Oh again and now I want some representation in my collection. I now about the models in pic related and the Yami Yugi Figma coming out. What are some other good toys? Statueshit welcome if it's done well.

I have this guy, when I was a kid I took a push pin and gave him three scratches across his chest because I noticed the paint could come off. Not sure why I did that.

From my experience, probably the figma. Honestly non-animal/kaiju revos aren't the best when it comes to paint (Getter Go, MP Eva, and Eva 01 F Armor being exceptions). And while they can definitely pose better, figmas are just smoother and easier to play with.

Same here, my interest for the franchise was rekindled by the movie and figma announcements. I never played Yu-Gi-Oh seriously back in the day, most of my cards where shitty chinese bootlegs, but this sudden burst of nostalgia made me buy a Yugi's Legendary Decks set, card guards and a portfolio to display them. I also pre-ordered figma Yugi.

I own 4 of those, the three Egyptian Gods and Exodia. Bought them back in the day when the Pyramid of Light movie was released. The two dragons have problems with the weight distribution and tolerances. In the case of Osiris/Slifer the top half of the body will bend little by little until the upside-down spikes on his back touch the lower half of the body, and the hard plastic peg hole rings on the inside of Ra's tail will snap over time, but you can just glue the tail in whatever position you want it to be.
Exodia's feet are made of soft plastic and the tips will bend a little over time, but it can still stand if you rotate the waist a bit until the left leg supports the weight of the arms and fireball (pic related). The chains and other soft plastic parts can get a little sticky.
The one with zero problems as far as I can tell (other than a subpar headsculpt) is Obelisk.
They are great display pieces nonetheless and will look awesome next to the figma Yugi, if you find them for a good price don't let those problems stop you from buying them.

Yeah, I had the 3 egyptian gods back in the day, but Obelisk got lost to time and the other two are missing a few pieces. New had Exodia, Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon or Red Eye Metal Dragon. I kinda want to get all of those because my display case has a very tall space for the bottom shelf, but I don't have many big figures to fill it with.

I believe they've also confirmed a Revoltech/Vulcanlog of the new Blue Eyes as well. Considering they've done Monster Hunter monsters, I'm sure they have the tech to pull it off. Kaiba's a Day-1 Preorder for me, with the other three being potential based on price and what the final product looks like. I just need that Revo Kaiba, though.

The issue isn't so much the weight, as it is going about actually propping the figure up without it looking awkward.
This is pic of him with a 5 or 6 inch figure for comparison. He's pretty thick, so I'm not sure how to grip him with the tamashii arms.

The Vulcanlog is just Yugi. The sculpt might be more fitting for the movie since the animation director's style is super sharp and is responsible for some of the crazier poses and looks in Yugioh.

Konami was dragging their asses, so it came out only a few months ago. The movie version is based on the Anniversary Pack artwork and is getting another artwork. There's also another Dark Magician promo from a year ago that isn't in English.

no, it's just that some time ago, Konami released the actual playable god cards, the text box come with their effects
obelisk and slifer have the same effects as in the manga and series, Ra is more of a cluster fuck and they even made 2 other cards for it I think, in sphere and phoenix modes
the art of all of them look cool, but the deck you need to run them is pretty crappy, especially nowdays with cards allowing you to special summon like 10 monsters in a single turn

Yeah, I don't recommend getting into modern Yugioh at all, especially with real life people. The game now is way too fast/consistent with the introduction of XYZ/Synchros and now Pendulums to boot.
I've been playing World Championship 2008 recently, it's pretty fun. Used to play YGOpro, got sick of getting possibly fucked over/fucking somebody over within one or two turns.

Is there any way to play with custom rules on YGOpro? My brother and I started using it the other day just to duel each other, but back in the day, we never knew about the rule of having to tribute monsters to summon anything above 4 stars, and we kinda wanna play like we did when we were kids.

Even back then he didn't design the majority of cards. His current artstyle is pretty distinctive compared to most cards. He did principle concept designs for Utopia and Galaxy-Eyes, but neither of those have cards drawn by him. And all the movie designs.

All the white parts are simplified, they have more volume in the card. The movie one has a cross design in the neck tjat the card one is missing, too.

Yeah, the Yugioh Revos are going to be based on their movie designs. GSC's starting to release Yugioh figmas that are based off of the anime designs. We already have Atem, and Dark Magician Girl is on the way. Maybe we'll get Dark Magician later on.
