Just got this bad boy. He's alright. Sturdier than a lot of other Funko stuff, but the neck articulation is basically inexcusable.
Anyways, I'd love to get a pulp Justice League going, but it seems like this is the only passable figure of the genre. It seems like Shocker toys made a miserable Dick Tracy, and there's no Shadows to be found in the same scale, so I'm kinda bummed. Any other ideas? Or just Funko legacy general, if you want.
It just hit me that, for a given value of "pulp", you could probably pass some NECA Bioshock stuff off as being a similar aesthetic. Big Daddy, for sure.

Thread started with funko. There's nowhere to go but up.

Even the great wall of china doesnt stop all the low quality products american companies continue to produce

Great figure, mine is nice and sturdy. I taped the head to the neck peg to get this shot. I think if you hollow out a bit back of the neck, you could achieve similar articulation.
Hefty does not mean sturdy. The thing is solid plastic; most of which is the same type of plastic used by DCC.. but the joints are so brittle.. I still have to dig into the wrist and the hand that fell off of mine out of the box to try to toss a small revoltech joint in there. And I only got a few minutes to work on dremeling out the neck to get more tilt from the head. It looks like I'll need to pop the clear barbell out and really hollow out a straight path for it in the neck.
But still, I love having a figure of this character.
This seems like a good thread to ask: Are there any worthwhile Green Hornet/Kato figures?
>>5539037
Looks like there's been plenty of statues, and a couple inaction figures released after the movie, but the only properly articulated stuff I'm seeing on a quick search is a pair of 12 inch dolls.
>>5538326
Mine was loose as fuck.
>>5538326
I'm with you anon, there's a serious lack of pulp characters out there.
Personally, I'm going to put my Rocketeer with my Iron Giant figure when it gets here. But I'd still love to get a 1/12 Phantom, Shadow, and Doc Savage.

I'm holding out hope for a good one. I'd like to see Mezco do one in their new 1/12 line.
>>5539104
>1/12 Shadow
It already exists.

I feel like this may not be particularly suitable for most modern collections.
I mean, look at the feet, there's hardly any ankle tilt at all. And where are the swing bar hips? The neck joint at both ends? I bet he doesn't even have a posable wire armature in that cloak.
8/10 figure, tops.
Shame there's no figures of the Silhouette, that would be pretty good.

Funko is really a tragic company when it comes to materials. Most of their figures are fantastic designs, but it just all comes crashing down when you move a limb and it snaps off at the joint.
>>5539104
I really hope the quality on this is good. Its just those arm and leg creases look like they're gonna split
>>5547394
The designers were probably really happy to do the work, but then really sad once they got the product in hand.
I'll never own a good 1/12 scale Phantom figure, or Jay Silverheels Tonto. At least the headsculpt on the Lone Ranger figure from the 2013 movie is so nondescript that it works as a generic Lone Ranger figure.

that line is the GOAT. shut your mouth.

Too bad Funko makes more money and is in more demand among pop culture trendy nerds who watch big bazinga theory =^]

all I can find cheap for bioshock I eather allready have or is a POP vinal.

Jesus Christ. Funko might as well make them out of peanut brittle.
>>5549239
It's truly unfortunate, what they do in manufacturing, after all the work they put into design. It seems like there's an unscheduled stop somewhere between promotional pictures and final production that's been removing accessories for the past few lines they've done. Their Evolve toys and the Rocketeer both shipped with about half the stuff they were supposed to include.
>>5540291
it's fuckin nonsense that in over 80 goddamn years there has yet to be an actually decent Shadow figure
It just struck me today that Captain Jack Harkness would go well as a companion to the Rocketeer. Just a shame there isn't any good figures of him either.

I'm still not convinced cloth is ideal for all applications at this scale. The cloak, sure, and probably the scarf too (god, what a beauty that would be with a posable wire) but the coat? Not so sure.
