Samurai don't use grappling hooks and they didn't carry their swords on their backs, those are more ninja style details. They just made the decision to have the web pattern be for his armour, probably because intricate armour is what the Meisho line is known for and having him wearing an unarmoured ninja suit would just make him the usual spidey with a sword. And would be the point of doing a figure like that in a line like this?
Why should spider-man be a full blown ninja in the first place? Noir and 2099 would be much more fitting to be an actual ninja, but Parker isn't even a stealthy hero to begin with.
