Counter as in quality ? Sure but we walk into costs to make and then levels to sell. It's the Headache of the MP line, they have either have to be major popular characters, easy to manufacturer or both. The Triple guys would be their greatest challenge for the line if they wanted to keep them show accurate and balance cost. And yes there are fans of those guys the levels they need on sales for that would have to be rather great to justify the costs.

The whole point of CW is that any of the Deluxes can be used as an arm or a leg on any of the Voyager body bots. So yeah, feel free to mix and match.
Personally, I got my Rook in Groove's old place (right leg) rather than using him as an arm. Maybe if we get that Deluxe Groove in the US I'll pick him up too.

I don't see what the big deal is about Tarantulas not being a motorcycle. The APC mode does a good job of referencing the spider-mode; a 6 wheeled vehicle as an 8 legged arachnid is pretty clever. Groove wouldn't be a bad choice, but it doesn't look particularly like Tarantulas. The Rook mold at least features things like wheels between the chest and arms like the Transmetal. The colors might've been an iffy call, though, since it makes everyone think Transmetal tarantulas, and thus motorcycle.
I also don't get people trying to make the Transmetal 3rd mode seem more motorcycle-like than it is. Nothing changes to look more like a motorcycle in shape, it's still just a spider laying flat with wheels underneath it. No seat, no windshield,no lights. I guess maybe the legs are a kickstand. But otherwise, it might as well be any other two wheeled vehicle. A Scooter. A two-wheeled car. Maybe not a vespa, that wouldn't work well with him being "Tarantulas"

If you like the Bruticus mold, I'd say go for Defensor, especially since the torso mode has a pretty intricate way of transforming.
If you like the Menasor mold, I'd say go for white Optimus.
I transformers my Menasor molds differently to make it less like they're walking on stilts.

The way this latest batch of designers have been performing, I really don't want to see Classics figures updated now because it will be a waste. We'll get improved articulation but guaranteed redesigns, shitty proportions, and hollow, honeycombed limbs. They might as well be mere homages from Energon at this point.

Giving Beast Wars characters "pre beast wars" vehicle modes has always seemed stupid to me. Most of them are named after animals and the Predacon faction itself takes it's name from a Decepticon team comprised of robotic animals. It'd make more sense if they were just robotic beasts on Cybertron to start with. It's not as if a large chunk of G1 wasn't robotic animal alt modes rather than vehicles, even if it was predominantly the Decepticons.
And yeah, I know Kenner originally intended Primal and Megs to be their original counterparts, but that got nixed in favor of the Mainframe canon and it's not like either of them had an animal right in their name anyway.

I'd be curious as to hybrid toy/show colors where it's mostly dark colors. Maybe they couldn't really do that, what with having to mix like green and red for one of them, but the other two were kind of brown-ish, which would work well blending with red. Maybe if they just did the red for robot mode.
I really liked the digibash someone did of Cyclonus as Cicadacon, but then you're left trying to make Seaclamp out of one of the limbs... what, a backwards jet just like Cicadacon?? The jet torso works well as Seaclamp as well, with his legs forming pincers.
