So anyone have the old Lego Magazine/Brickmaster issue with a comic featuring these 4? I've been trying to track it down but to no avail.
It was pretty basic but showed off the sets in a way that gave some level of sense to the oddly designed catapult builds.
Help a Lego bro out!

Yeah, Blizzard wanted new models for the figures, not to use typical minifigures. Lego said no. So Blizzard went with Mega Blocks and the fail train went off the rails.

>>
>>5410332
Nope, not acceptable. Blizzard wanted badass highly poseable new figures that would have cost a ton to produce to Lego's standards. They wanted custom everything for their minis. Lego said no. Mega Blocks said "Hell yeah!" and then the line died because Blizzard failed to realize that WoW isn't Halo.

My local Toys R Us at one point had them 50% off AND buy-1-get-1 free.

They still weren't moving, but full-price Halo sets were selling.
>>
>>5410360

Funny, I actually live in MN.

But the last place I saw them was TRU, and that was probably two years ago.

And even at that, TRU usually ends up hanging onto toylines for like a year or two after they're totally phased out.

I figured the WoW Megabloks haven't been relevant in a long time.
>>

Sorry, germany here.
And Megabloks are not widely distributed besides toys R us.
Since im not so often in a toystore or toys r us, i didnt knew its gone.
>>
>>5410377

That's alright, man. Realistically, the only reason Megabloks does so well is because they have the Halo license. If they didn't have that, they probably would have faded away like Kre-O, since most of the other properties they run don't last particularly long.

I feel like the Ninjago line has some decent-ish smaller playsets, actually. It's just that some of the designs are so friggen' outlandish.

The biggest ones all seem to be shrines, or temples or whatever, and they all have pretty neat designs.

There are even some pretty small or medium-sized sets that are actual playsets and have pretty neat designs.

I haven't dabbled in Lego too much lately, but the Nexo Knight sets caught my eyes because of that magitech theme.

I got the Rumble Blade and the Lavaria minifig and they're totally cool. Building the launching mechanism for the two side cars and then the sword plane. Lavaria's evil spider body, little robot minifigs, little goblin minifig also didn't expect the stud-launching crossbow. All cool (and new to me) concepts with Lego in general.

My Target didn't have all the sets right now but I saw the rest of the minifig sets for the other characters, and some of the other vehicles like the motorcycle horse, which also looked great. One of them was a little building playset with a loli minifig which I hadn't seen before either.

Well the Forum is a good place to discuss and browse what other have done, with the wiki supplementing that.

But yeah, as for actual PLAY, it can get a bit rough...
The only non-solo games I've played were all with my nephew, as there is little for gaming options out here in the middle of nowhere.

>>5410937
>Looking through the rest of the Nexo sets it seems like the stud launchers are going to be pretty wide-spread in it. Is it the new gimmick or has it been around for awihle.
Yeah, the started with gun based Stud Launchers a year or two ago...
Thing is, they've pretty much completely replaced regular blasters in the Star Wars Battle Packs, and only now have started to vary the design a bit.

A cool Gimmick, but to make it work you need to up the part count on everything, resulting in big expensive sets parents aren't willing to buy for their kids.
>>
>>5411356
>>5411357
i mostly dont like it because of the few sets i bought, the builds wernt fun at all
i personally thing the problem was, while it was clearly two factions "human" v "ailen"
the aliens had subpar builds that just threw in parts to make it actually look like the intended stuff
build a giant blob, then add some legs and mandables, bam, you got a spider or some shit.

the humans also were decided, its clear they designed each color faction with a theme in mind, being robots, heavy weapons, or whatever.

they ended up making a line, where people might end up liking only 1/5 of it

>I think it was the combining Vehicle aspect...

That's great, but tons of other themes have used that, and it has never been a problem. Maybe not in every set like the GS line, but most sets--especially in the space lines--have modular vehicles. Especially the large ships. The sets were really no more or less expensive than in other themes/lines. Besides, I'd think kids would love stuff like that anyway; Getting one set that has a large vehicle, than can turn into two or three smaller vehicles. Kids eat that shit up.

Even Clay's vehicle in the Nexo Knights does this, and people love it there.

>>5411443

I admit that the bug alien sets weren't particularly interesting or very good (though the Hive Crawler thing was pretty cool) but the human sets were all pretty nice.

I don't think there was even one set I didn't really like out of the human vehicles.

Not the same guy but getting your entire MOC in a single store is pretty hard to do, especially if you're trying to save money.

A good estimation of how much a set will cost is about $0.10 per brick. It's not exactly but generally works.

Not likely at all. It just came out this time last year, and it usually takes 2-3 years for modulars to retire.

Probably even longer now, since the Petshop and Theater are still available, and they're from 4 or 5 years ago.
