Yeah, I was initially reluctant at buying Scourge because the whole beard on him looked really weird and out of place on a TF. But the design is starting to grow on me, and I own RTS Wreck-Gar and I really enjoyed him- so I wanna give Scourge a chance, too. I adore his colors and his bot mode silhouette.

DESU, 2014 was my favorite year since the end of HFTD/RTS. We got a crazy variety of toys from all eras of Transformers, with build quality way above FoC and slightly above where we are right now with CW. Every toy fair and convention we got exciting new reveals that nobody could have predicted.
With cost-cutting continuing apace and a GEEWUNNER in charge of product development, I don't foresee us having as good a year again in a long, long time.

Gen Scourge is one of the best modern transformers, imho.
There is no exposed hollowness, robot and alt mode are pretty solid, and the wings open to store the guns.
I guess he's underrated but he's easily the best among cyclonus and galvatron.

Pins are difficult to get out, and they're even more difficult to get back in again. In order to remove the bombs for a bombing run, the pin would need to be removed. It would then be extremely taxing, if not literally impossible to get back in, ergo the toy would now be 'fucked'.

Hasbro could quite easily make an Abominus combiner by retooling Sky Lynx, then making two new molds, one for Sinnertwin and another to be used by Rippersnapper and retooled into Blot. I think I know why Scattershot got released next to Onslaught. Because another toy was planned, but it fell through, forcing them to make a last minute addition to fill out the wave. Since the Scattershot tooling existed for the planned Computron, they decided to use it for the replacement.

Well, I was pretty good with my toys as a kid, as evidenced by these headmasters still having their heads. It was my asshole parents who destroyed all of them by shoving them in an attic. All my G1, gone it seems. Dunno how this stuff escaped the attic, or the house sale of my grandma's, or anything.

Legends Shockwave used clear plastic, right? And so do a bunch of the RID Minicons and the Leader Seekers. I don't think Hasbro is purposely avoiding clear plastic considering that.
But it's possible all the springs and ratchets in the deluxes and voyagers means Hasbro can't use clear plastic without going over the price point the toy would sell at. That's my theory on it, anyway.

It's not so much that clear plastic is a no-no, it's the number of plastic sprues allocated to a figure.
The legend Shockwave has 3 (purple, grey and clear pink). Most CW deluxes get 4 (which includes that hand/foot).
Meanwhile, the Takara Groove has 6 (white, off-white, black, clear, clear blue and clear red). If we take that mold straight from Takara, now were have to take a figure that was designed to have 6 different plastic colors, covered with just 4. Unlike Shockwave, most of the parts can't be cast in clear, because the plastic has to hold up as joints, or it would require a ton of paint to make it looks good.
