Some anons did it years ago on their figures and there was no side effect, I think 1 anon left a model kit in the jar for a couple of months and there was no change whatsoever but it was a long time ago so I'm not sure if the last part of what I said is true, try a sacrificial figure first when in doubt.

Dunno, I just came here from /v/ and pre-ordered that Link. 67 bucks is a bit much, but the only other figures I tend to order are MP Transformers, which are in the same price range to import. Granted, they're bigger, more complex, and change into licensed vehicles, but god damn. That's the best Link figure I've ever seen. I've wanted something like it since I was 5 years old. Money is no object.
Only way I'd trade up is if they ever made a figure of pic related.

For example the Sherlock Hound figma is 9,000 yen because it comes with a car. I bet there are fans of the character who would have been fine paying less and going without the car.
