MAFEX: Just using my brain bone. The pattern is MAFEX announces their figures way later, usually have cloth goods and swappable heads, and Kylo would be well served by having that sort of high quality material.

Also, there was some anon in one of the other threads who asked about putting into the FO head on the OG trooper body. Here's a lineup of peg sizes for these. The best fit turns out to be the Han Solo body.
No pictures here, but the Clone Trooper body has too large of a peg, and the Scout Trooper has an adequate peg.

You pretty much missed his wave. They had an initial wave and then a restock. They are basically sold out now although you might get lucky here or there. It's unknown if there will be any more restocks.
I'm actually pretty pleased with the black series so far; I've yet to receive any stuck joint from their figures and stuff that uses cloth isn't a hassle to pose.

Head pops off super easy, can't say if other heads fit easy at all. He is super fun although he has some weird limits in posing you hit every now and then, and his feet (or rather the 5+ I've handled at least) aren't perfectly flat so getting some balancing poses aren't easy.

Honestly, I want more. I kind of hated Force Awakens, but the FO Trooper design looks cool and the SHF version is crazily expressive. Almost like a Super Action Statue with more elaborate engineering (the torso joint is a work of genius). Just really, really great figures and the fun multiplies as you get more than one to pose doing goofy shit like disco dancing and wuxia.

Black series stuff is particularly flaky at that sort of thing because of the ankles and their weirdass ratchets, every couple days one of my stormtroopers would take a shelf dive. I ended up using a bunch of those flat triangular revoltech stands that work with feet pegholes.

I had Han, Threepio, Artoo and a Stormtrooper from the Powers of the Force line. I also had the 90's reissues of the Millenium Falcon and an X-Wing.
My personal favourites though were the Action Fleet toys. I had the AT-AT, Snowspeeder, X-Wing and TIE Interceptor. I might buy some new replacements plus more to go with them because those were utterly based toys.

It's pretty good, should be able to pose them how you would want to. It's a lot better than the black series. I need to glue the arms and legs in though as sometimes they'll come apart while im posing.
Man, I'm slightly worried about figuarts phasma now. As long as it's just a slightly upscaled FO trooper it should be solid, but the cape could be trouble. How flexy is the cape for the black series one? Maybe it'll be possible to do a swap like Kylo's robe.

got the brush and paints from micheals. Paint's were just cheap acrylic. The at-st took longer as it was more fine surfaces to wipe down. I pretty much just made a wash, covered the whole thing, let it dry, and then wiped it off with a moistened paper towel or q-tip if it was too small of a spot. On the speeder i put dots of thinned paint (brown, black, and grey) and then wiped with a wet brush in the direction of air flow. The nice thing about acrylics is you can pretty much just clean it up with water if anything goes wrong.

It's a MODEL KIT. If you want a fully painted action figure, then buy a fully painted action figure.

There is absolutely no reason Bandai couldn't have supplied white plastic parts to plug into the black skeleton of the blaster. Their Gundam kits require no paint. All the other Star Wars action figure models released so far have been entirely in the correct colours.
They rushed it to market instead of going through another couple of revisions and as such it's the weakest of all the figure models they've released so far in terms of screen accuracy.

The trooper needed the grey and blue painted in on the face, Fett required all the weathering to be done, and Vader only came in black, literally everything had to be painted on him.
And beyond that, its a fucking model. If you dont want to paint, and make small mods to make it fit your taste, buy a fucking action figure.
So has anyone got the new black series flametrooper? I like the design so I wouldnt mind one, and I doubt bandai will make one. Is the BS any good?

Stormtrooper comes with waterslides for the helmet and detonator can. Same with Boba Fett, at bare minimum he just needs silver weathering to look right. All the base colours are correctly separated in plastic.
The FO Trooper by contrast needs a tricky masking job to put the white on his gun with paint. Lazy design and patternmaking vs the previous kits.

Hollow helmets that slip over the heads. They look a little off/goofy next to stock stormtroopers cause they kinda warp or bend.

I guess i'm better off just tracking down regular Stormtroopers. But I feel that buying those two kind of justifies buying multiples of the 'same character'.
Also, if i'm not mistaken, Luke's trooper body is a different mold than the stock trooper, right?

Managed to get the Black Series Jango Fett and Phasma last night. They look great! I'm really happy with them.
All I need now is to get Ahsoka and Kanan, I really hope I can get my hands on them and they won't be scalped first. I kind of want a Rey, but along with Finn, I'm sure they'll have much more iconic costumes in the latter films so I'll wait. Definitely getting Old man Luke if he releases, hopefully he'll have his green lightsaber.

I saw the Jedi Knight Luke in his black outfit but I'm not going to pay fucking 50 dollars for him, even if I do like the design.
What's /toys thoughts on the first order figuarts Storm Trooper? Picked one up at Mandy for 4k. I didn't want to bother with the black series edition as that shit requires modding the elbow joints.
