Seems like you answered your own question, bud. It's the same reason Amiibos were selling like hot cakes. Collectors had no other options for getting physical representations of Palutina, Ness, Starfox, Little Mac, Captain Falcon, etc. So they took whatever they could get.
Since there aren't any other big articulated Sonic figures, collectors have to settle for the pieces of shit in your picture.

Nendoroid isn't known for massive amounts of articulation, but it's hard to give a character like Sonic lots of articulation without it looking like shit like in >>5381949
I'd love for a Japanese company to tackle Sonic in earnest one day, but right now Nendoroid is far and away the best we've got.

You can twist and swivel the arms and legs around just fine. There are swap-out pieces if you want bent limbs. But it articulates just fine and looks beautiful.
OP image looks like shit. Buy it over the Nendo if you want a child's looking display. But buy the Nendo if you want something impressive looking.

Idk though. The Nendo to me is just a perfect "Sonic". It's not particularly fat with light blue skin like that Sonic to the left, but it's shorter and less lanky than the Sonic to the right. An amalgamation I'd say, and one so perfect that I don't notice it looking 'off' from any particular design.

My old Resaurus figures look pretty good next to Nendo Sonic. Good luck finding them, though.

No pic but I own it. It's alright. There's a couple problems, like the shoes not sitting flat due to some odd molding and the arms falling out easily, but it comes with all the accessories, and it's $20 instead of over $100.
It's not PERFECT, but it's certainly good enough, and with a little bit of care you can probably fix up any issues.

This are the Sonic toys I havr and while they are far from perfect I'm kinda happy with them
I caved and bought one of those bootleg Sanics on ebay. Expect a review in a week or so.
The Super Posers actually had the widest cast besides Jazwares' 3 inch line, not saying much since the 3 inch line had like 40 figures (37 or so if you don't count certain variants.) But there were 7 in total, 5 if you don't count the Supersonic and Supershadow variants. The Knuckles and Tails for this line were actually awesome, and Silver was really cool too except that his leg joints had like NO friction so standing him was a pain. I have the original Toy Island versions of Shadow and Sonic with their fucked up eyes, but aside from that they're the same as Jazwares' versions.
