I think the problem with the bubbling is you may be pouring it too quickly/not slowly enough. A friend of mine used to make resin figures of a sculpture he made and would have to pour it slowly along with using a syringe to get rid of bubbles once it was poured.

I'll try that. Usually don't get many bubbles while mixing, but it may be the way I'm pouring that's causing a problem. Damn, the more I do this, the more little things I find out about that I'm supposed to buy
I've noticed that adding foreign objects into the resin tends to cause it to form bubbles... attempts to make color changes with inks and acrylic paints resulted in that (they don't mix either). Oil paints don't do it so much if mixed well, but they seem to be a poor color additive. Difficult to make a uniform mixture with them. Considering trying food coloring or a paint wash with Future or hydrogen peroxide (no idea what results will be, but anything with water makes resin bubble the hell up like foam).
I'll take a serious stab at this with a better mold next week. Really want to do clear colors but my mold is too shitty for something with a 4 hour or longer cure time

For me, it sucks because I missed out on the 2015 stuff the first time they were in stores.
Now the stores just have shit like skull scorpion and buying that sure as shit won't help me improve the new Toa.
Easy fixes:
Friction extenders or longer bones for lewa's arm, maybe more green to balance out the crazy amount of silver
Again, Gali needs longer arms
Pohatu could use some extra dark tan balanced throughout so his mask doesn't look so out of place
Tahu could use some more solid red instead of just trans and gold so his mask fits in more
Onua is pretty good
Kopaka's wrists should be replaced with his 2015 thigh shells. They have dark blue patterns on them that match his chest armor amazingly well and balance his color scheme. Gold crystal addons replaced with the silver/blue ones from Gali, so his silver all matches instead of having 2 random bits of gold.
Also, all of them could use some more unique weapon builds, which shouldn't be hard for anyone who has some technic

My guess is that the unity modes are responsible for that. They needed to make sure that both the individual sets and a combination that can be done without taking anything apart look good, and since the combination is what you're paying extra for, there was probably more focus on optimzing that, even at the cost of the individual sets' quality.

CCBS has good parts, but as I think we can see with the 2016 Toa now, the future of constraction lies in a heavy return to the Technic building techniques and style we saw in the past. CCBS by itself is one of the most boring and uninspired systems I've ever seen.

I think it's great.
The 2015 and 2016 sets are a good blend of technic and the CCBS skeleton/shell stuff.
Maybe the 2015 Toa were a little on the simple side visually, but they all managed to feel unique in ways that made sense.
The 2016 ones are great and definitely look like old bionicle thematically, (although the chestpiece is too clusterfucky for my taste)
The best way to improve would be add more detail add-ons, or make shells that have some texture to them on the sides. Someone posted a drawing here months ago of a CCBS shell with similar details to a Metru leg armor and it looked fantastic.

Grabbing a mask from underneath would probably be a more defensive way to use that type of blade, as it allows the user to keep it closer to their body, though I don't think grabbing it from the top would leave you too open, especially if you have two more like skull slicer XD
but since umarak is a hunter i like to think that he likes to take good care of his weapons so i don't think his weapon is like that because it was poorly made or because it's old (even though it is the same piece) but rather because it serves a functional purpose, not only for grabbing masks, but for gutting his catches

Onua's weapon is rad, but I'm surprised. Everyone was loving the technic half builds and Onua doesn't seem to have any for his limbs, until everyone else.

I would had preferred her to have one vorox pauldron and crystal armor on the thighs and the other elbow exposed.

Tahu: 9.5/10. His only problem are his shins, but most people are fine with it
Kopaka: 9/10. Despite the huge shins and stickers he's one of the best
Gali: 9.5/10. Again her only problem is her shin armor
Lewa: 8.5/10. Cool design, but it's ruined by his lack of head articulation
Onua: 8/10. In concept he looks cool, but the set is ultimately too top heavy and his mask feels tiny
Pohatu: 8/10. Too basic for most people and his color scheme turns people off. Personally I love him to death

I know fire isn't red, but there has been a clear theme. Kopaka is white and trans blue/trans light blue, Onua is black and purple/trans purple. Tahu has always been red. I like the set too, but it really doesn't scream Tahu to me.
Is anyone else having the problem that there target is only stocking the big new sets? The smaller toa and creatures aren't even available online for me
