What's the best Snake figure?
>>
>>5369624
They all have their problems. I like the GZ variant of that and the figma myself.
>>
>>5369624
Just bit the bullet on a Peace Walker Snake PAK. Thought it didn't have too much of that over-shadowing they usually have in the paint. We'll see next tuesday I guess.
>>
>>5369624
Either version of the Revoltech Snake is arguably the best in terms of articulation, accessories, and likeness for Naked Snake/Big Boss. The figma Solid Snake, while notorious for shit paint apps in the face, is still the best representation of Solid in 1/12 thus far. The Revolminis are quite good as well but they're in 1/18 scale.

Revolmini (olive drab version) is fantastic. If you can deal with it being the size of a Marvel Universe figure, it's well worth the money.

The other version's alright but it doesn't have the paint wash of the olive drab release, nor does it have the scuffing on the boots and other small details. It's a very flat-looking figure.

I too predict the Vulcanlog will be the favored figure for most. Especially since the face looks much better than the promo shots.

I've got two figma snakes - both have their flaws with paint apps, but it's a ton of fun.

however - it's not EIGHT DOLLARS fun like on ebay, if you can get one for fifty and love the character - then yes, go for it.

>>

Yeah but seeing the photos from the Revo general expect Vulcanlog Snake to be far more articulated than the Revo mini one given the size and revolver joints.

>>5370034

Depends how you like your Snake. It would be neat to see a regular "fatigues" Snake after the Sneaking Suit revo this month.

There is a strange curse on any snake figure where you just cant win.

Examples are this hot toys snake looks great but the suit is a stupid choice

ALL the PAK Snakes faces look like complete shit but their bodies are great

The figma snake is a 10/10 sculpt but for some reason the paint artist was possessed by a dead PAK's painter or something and threw unnecessary shadowing on his face

I'd say the PAK looks better, but Figma's is like 50-100 and PAK is around 400.
>>
>>5370034
>Especially since the face looks much better than the promo shots.
I dunno man, I think that remains to be seen. It does look ok in Yamaguchi's recent shots, but he hasn't really shown us a detailed front-on shot of the final product yet--which is where the head looked the worst even in the oldest shots. You can hide a lot of flaws with the right camera angles.
>>
>>5372779
Yep. If they refuse to give a proper frontal shot, then there's probably a reason for that.
>>
>>5371564
No.
The Vulcanlog and the Revolmini are seperate lines.
The Vulcanlog snake is the typical 1/12 scale figure and the Revolmini is closer to a 1/18 scale figure.

May have to agree. Though for me it's pretty close. The Play Arts Kai Sneaking Suit Venom Snake is also nice enough.

My favourite part about the figma however is its ability to hold the rifle properly. The articulation is mad efficient.

At this point my MGS collection is surprisingly large. I don't usually collect more than a single version of any character, but for them I'm slowly getting 'em all. My next is likely the Vulcanlog Venom Snake, or the Revol-mini Solid Snake.
>>
Is there a "definitive" Snake? Just a default Snake in a sneaking suit.
>>
>>5375532
For a decent price point? I'd say the Revol-mini Solid Snake, or really any of the Revoltech MGS figures. The Vulvanlog Sneaking Suit Venom Snake looks particularly nifty.

Granted, I don't own any of them, but they look neat.
>>
>>5375532
Between the two iconic suits you probably want either the Revolmini or Figma Solid Snakes. Figma is really fun to pose but has the obvious face issues, and Revolmini is pretty good from what I've seen but I don't collect that scale so I've never gotten a chance to try him out myself. If you want Big Boss I've had a blast with the revoltech Peace Walker Snake and I heard that the GZ version is exactly the same. Play Arts Kai Solid looks weird in the face from being too red, and since he's big it's pretty noticeable. I don't have any PAK Big Bosses but they all look like the best out of the PAK MGS line (Venom Snakes notwithstanding). If you don't mind scale I'd like to recommend Revolmini Solid since the MGS1 sneaking suit is about as iconic as the MGS2 suit and he has plenty of accessories. If you want Big Boss the Peace Walker revoltech is great, a decent amoutn of accessories like the revolmini too.
>>
I'm torn between PW and GZ revos. What do?
>>
>>5375948
PW is cheaper and has real weapons. Their sneaking suits are identical even though GZ had some differences to PW's suit. Hope that helps.
>>
>>5375948
Do you like the head on the GZ one?

Yes > Get that
No > Get the PW one
>>
>>5370034
This style works really well for Metal Gear and I hope the people who will make the new games will use it someday. The artstyle of the sculpting is the best part of revoltech metal gear figures.
