So did Hasbro confirm any other of these black series voice changers? Trooper helmet when?

Also STAR WARS General I guess.

it always annoyed me that toy lightsabers (that come with figures) are always just transluscent colored plastic which never gives them the real look (white with colored borders)

do you think theres a better way to handle it?

i'd think about a white pole with another transluscent, barely colored hull around it.

I have one as well, they are full size and pretty darn screen accurate. I'm 6'1" with a proportionate head and it fits me perfectly. Great replica if you can find one.
>>
>>5362347
how much was it?
>>
>>5362354
I paid $64 for mine and would say it's worth about $50. It's a nice helmet but I could have done without the voice changer in exchange for a more screen accurate look, and it not being in two pieces.
>>
>>5362347
That seals the deal I am hunting one down when I get paid friday, shit looks sick on top of Kylo Ren being one of my favorite characters from anything in a long time.
>>
>>5362355

Is the voice changer integrated or can you detach it somehow?
I ride a bike and as autistic as it sounds I'd like to put it into my actual headgear.
>>
>>5362466
you have to be at least 18 to post here you lateral piece of faggot
>>
>>5362466
If you want it for just the voice changer buy a cheaper mask, it's the same shitty voice changer in every toy version. Anyways, the input is around the mouth, very sensitive actually, it picks up a lot of outside noise and breathing is very amplified, the power source is near the top of the head and the speakers are in between the silver forehead decorations. Taking it apart would destroy the helmet and probably not be worth the time.
>>
>>5362479

u mad
>>
>>5362518

Thanks
>>
>>5362355
I'd say it was worth the price, one of the best prop/toys hasbro has ever made. The battery pack on top and seam aren't optimal but certainly don't ruin the helmet. I'm honestly surprised they didn't make the visor huge like they did for all the previous voice changer helmets they've done
>>
>>5362527
I'd drop money on a regular trooper helmet of the same quality in an instant.
>>
>>5362527
Idk, I guess I've gotten at least $64 of fun with the thing. Building a shelf to put it on alongside my uncle's Vader helmet from back in the day.

Found the first order pilot at my local wal mart. they also had the snow trooper. passed on him since I have the TrU one.

>>5363769
Nice, my local stores are being massive faggots with regards to new stock. Nothing beyond wave 2.
>>
>>5363748
Are there any cute alternatives? I wanna put one on my desk.
>>
>>5363822
If you just want a model for your desk there is a bandai kit of BB-8 and R2-D2
>>
>>5363822
The other contenders are Hasbro's $80 one, which is just a remote-control car, essentially, no autonomous roaming. And it takes a whopping six AA batteries (four for the droid, two for the controller).

Then Disney has an $30+ dollar version. It's huge, but it moves around on a wheel located underneath, and not like the actual droid. And it looks like you have to constantly press its button and interact with it to get it to do shit. Pretty much only for kids.

For your desk, I think Funco has a little model, at least.
>>
>>5363748
If it makes you feel any better it's pretty damn small and all of its audio emits form your phone, rather than BB-8 itself. Those were kind of turn offs for me. At least at the current price point. I'd buy it at $80 I think. $150? Nope.
>>
>>5363864
I like the small size, but yeah, the sounds coming from the phone is definitely a turn-off. They were kind of misleading with all the hype.

Also, though it makes a map of your house based on what it runs into, it has no sensors, so it pretty much just runs full-speed and bumps into shit, and wears out after an hour. Kind of like putting your cat on cocaine. I just want a cute little robot that will greet me when I come home.

One day, maybe.

It's definitely cheaper but like I said>>5363856, it seems like you have to constantly interact with it to get it to do stuff, so it's pretty much made for a toddler that wants to sit and push buttons and watch it react. That and the tiny wheel it moves on makes it seem like a pale imitation.

It's the number of pieces and amount of plastic that has the prices the way they are.

These custom painted faces are definitely miniatures paint, probably Vallejo like the anon said.

It is *absolutely* a thinurpaintz situation. It's a guy who clearly has done portrait painting (probably in oil based on his style). He overdoes it quite a lot with the green on the jaws and the red "crying eyes" but I am looking at photos and they are 1" tall faces and in person they probably look exactly right with that degree of exaggeration.

It's standard miniatures gamers paint and paintjobs just done exceptionally well and on unexpected figures. Better than more fucking space marines.

TRU has figuarts?
>>
>>5367437
Assuming he is talking about the Disney Infinity stuff.
>>
>>5367437

I know you're doing the thing, but the TRU nearest to me carried some of the Power Ranger Figuarts a couple years back.
>>

Yeah I got everything in the photo from toys r us, I live in Japan though.

Would anyone be interested in some photos/a video of what a typical Japanese toys r us Star Wars stock looks like? I plan on going back when they open tomorrow.
>>
>>5367463
Not that Anon, but I saw some Rangers Figuarts back in about....2012? 2011? at TRU. Sometime like that.
I think the issue is more of a Hasbro thing.
>>
>>5367482
Your not gonna see figuarts in TRU in America thats for sure, honestly I am lucky if I can get Black Series in my TRU.
>>
>>5367314
I didn't know Toys R Us carried the Sphero in-store. U.S.?

Only Best Buy near me that has it in store is way in the fucking boonies. Considering stopping by Apple Store this weekend.

>How much practice do you guys think it takes to be able to do this? This is my dream but I have no painting experience. Are we talking about six months? A year? Ten years?
If you're careful and autistic about it, you can do it today as long as you inform yourself on proper painting techniques and paints to use.

It's not hard, but there's a lot of things you learn through trial and error. Most guides are incomplete or teach totally awful techniques, so even if you're well informed you can be led down a retarded path without knowing it.
Best guides usually come from /tg/-type mini modelers, since they know you need to thin your paints and how to spray your models, and proper thinning and spray techniques accounts for 50% of making your figure look great.
Larger scale modelers can be lax on that, which can fuck up little details even on larger scale figures.

>>5361820

Anybody got the disney elite grievous? Looks pretty good but I've never seen it in the store and didn't even know it existed until now only to see it's like $200 on ebay what the fun
>>
>>5370746

It's a floppy piece of shit. Avoid, like all the Elite shit.
>>
>>5370746

Yeah, the Elite figures aren't great. I have a couple. They just don't really have much in the way of articulation. Also, the scaling seems really odd from figure to figure.

I mean, they're OK if you're just getting them as statues that you can move the arms a little bit or something, but cool, posable, decently articulated figures they are not.
>>
>>5370746
I have him. I've never taken him out the box so I don'the know how floppy he is. He looks good in the box though.

Just got a TRU e-mail, SW Micro Machines are 2 for one Friday and Saturday. I'm thinking of getting a bunch of the blind bagged ones but i can't seem to find a cheat sheet, any ideas or are the bags easy to ID by feel?
>>
>>5370945
fairly easy, I got all the ones I wanted from S1 and so far all the ones I want from S2 without getting doubles. All of them are in little plastic trays, but you can still feel certain features of the ships that give away what it is like the Snowspeeder's cockpit, the nose of the X-Wing, The Naboo Starfighter's tail, etc. TIE fighters are the easiest to find since they look really bulky compared to all the others

where the fuck do you live? I still haven't seen anything but Finn and Chewie since Force Friday
>>
>>5371036

Not that guy, but I saw one Kylo on Force Friday, and then never saw one again until right around when the movie came out, when I saw two tucked away at a Walgreens. I passed on him, but I saw the movie on Christmas Eve and decided to buy one. Checked out that Walgreens, and there was still one chilling there, so I got him.

Never saw another one anywhere else.
>>
>>5371043
Huh. I saw two at a kmart the weekend after force friday, then on that monday decided to grab him and there happened to be one left. I also have not seen him since.
>>
>>5371048

I don't think any of the stores have really restocked in weeks, though. I haven't seen anything but Finns at Target, Walmart, etc. I don't even have a K-Mart around anymore.

I still haven't even gotten one of those damn Walmart Battlefront Shocktroopers. There is only one Walmart near me and it always has tons of traffic.
>>
>>5371067
My local target happened to get the phasma wave the day I went in so I was able to grab her and the guavian enforcer. I also wish you had noticed the few posts I made ~week ago. Walmart had the shocktroopers on their website for 19 bucks for a a good while for a few days. I grabbed two then.
