Do what I did: carefully use cuticle or sewing scissors to cut the thread holding the hood on to the robe. Then stretch and glue the ends over a Dr Doom/ringwraith/deatheater/any 6" scale rubber hood. If you don't have a hood you can make one by heating a section of clear blister shell from an action figure package to use as a support structure.
Make sure to leave some fabric loose underneath so you can tuck it against his shoulders and fill into the back. Now the hood is removable and the figure looks good with it off.

Just fine but you'll need to heat the helmet up to get it off and remove the scarf. Then trim back the threads where you removed the hood.
