Considering the articulation... both have single jointed elbows and knees. both are missing waist articulation. Aside from the shoulders and hips, if the Capullo Riddler is any indication, the DCC version is superior.
>He features the following points of articulation: ball jointed ankles, hinged knees, swivel hips, a swivel waist, swivel shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged knees, swivel wrists, and a ball jointed head.
Which is kinda disappointing, considering the rest of the Capullo line had ball jointed shoulders and hips.

I got my Multiverse Joker today. It's alright, I guess. Articulation is nice, but I don't like the rubber coat, I wish they would have just made that one piece, I also don't like his left hand in that pose as on the comic cover, as it's not really great for holding it anyway. As it's much more of a kid's toy if anything, I would have preferred it to have a C hand like his right.

I think >>5349102 is definitely going to be the better release to get.

There's always been figures in that scale though, it's not exactly new. There was a bit of a boost when Marvel Universe came out, but they're still making quite a lot of those next year. A large number of figures, both for collectors and kids are still produced in that scale. Mattel have just opted out completely for whatever reason.

Are the Multiverse Flash and Arrow any better or worse than their DCC counterparts?
>>
>>5357108
I'd say anything with arms that don't snap off and faces that don't look like candle wax is better.
>>
>>5356781
Not like we had a choice. Every company that experienced lowered profits would convert stuff to 3.75 and then it would flop. Only Hasbro was capable of doing decent figures this way.
>>
>>5356623
All the figures are supposed to have unique molds but follow the same articulation lay out. One of the main difference between the figures is that some of them have thigh cut usually hiding in the figures boot/shoe that somewhat compensates for the lack of thigh cut. Most figures like Batman, Flash and Black Adam have those, however figures like miracle man, BB and Luthor do not. Another reason I'm debating getting BB Icon since it has less artic but probably a better sculpt.. Anybody has both of them that could post pics of both side by side in different poses for comparision?
>>
>>5357343
Main thing that bothers me here is the way they make the ribs float. It looks like giant fangs on a torso and I can't unsee them. Ball torsos usually suck.

High ab cruces are pretty much the only acceptable looking thing.
>>
>>5357210

I don't think anything flopped as such. I think it was just one of those weird decisions based on what they thought would do better given certain trends rather than what's proven to work better in the past. The 4" DC stuff was mostly selling pretty well. I think they just didn't like the "kid" stigma of the smaller scale.

I was about to get Icons Batman until I realized he is tiny and doesn't scale with my other DC figures. My Red Hood and Nightwing tower over him. Is this the new scale DC is going for? I only have 5 DC figures so I can sell them and start over but not if they'll be switching scale between lines.

>>5358479
> switching scale between lines.
I really don't see the problem.
They're seperate lines and the stylized figures they make should be bigger to allow the details to shine through.
These should be 1:12 scale so that they're compatible with the other 1:12 scale lines, one of the prevalent scales of today.

Instead of just some punching glove, we get the whole kitten kaboodle (hurr). No need to scale everything down to fit it within the budget of a wave.
And quite frankly, I like that they offer these options instead of making it into some BAF.

>That sculpt looks like its DCD from 2002.
Don't be dumb. Sculpt quality has been directly related to the artists ability since the mid-90s.
And his sculpt is perfectly fine. If you don't like the torso joints, that's just on you. It falls within the acceptable obvious joint tolerance for me. I may be known for bringing up the goat legs on Figmas, but I actually have no problems with that. I only just like bringing up the hypocrisy where people shit on other joints that are obvious.
Personally, my tolerance ends when it drastically changes the profile of a figure, like the enternally shrugging Revoltech TMNTs.

>It is larger, thicker too, more plastic and you should know Mattel sets stupid prices for their site exclusives so they aren't retail comparable.
Doesn't look larger. Plastic in itself is cheap, so it really doesn't matter if it was a completely solid piece. What brings up the costs significantly is how many pieces its made out of (molds cost a ton of money), and that line seems pretty simplistic in that respect.

>Mattel sets stupid prices for their site exclusives so they aren't retail comparable
That is actually a pricing point similarity, because if they were mass market, the cost would actually be much lower (more units produced/sold brings costs down). So because of their direct market status, they have similar price points.
So even compared to this, it is pretty shit value.
This is not a deluxe figure, btw
>>
>>5359240
You don't get it, they are holding on to them for longer periods of time than retailers would and wait for the few fans willing to pay overinflated prices to buy before going on to more reasonable ones so they can sell the majority of them off. They aren't similar at all.
>>
>>5359240
Thats not being sold at a higher price becuse they are offsetting the cost in an assortment with low volume figures. The plastic is in fact a considerable cost.
>>
>>5359261
so how many units are we talking then?
10k? 20k? 5k?
If it's under 5k, that's where youre entering buttfucking mode in rape prices. Convention exclusives usually are between 8-15k and they're sold to a considerably smaller market.

>>5359267
>The plastic is in fact a considerable cost.
Sure, but none of these figures are large enough that that would ever raise the price beyond what they're selling at normally. The packaging by itself costs as much as the entire production and materials of the figure. So Manbat does cost more than other figures in his wave, if only because his package is about 33% larger.

So that guy claiming that figure costs more because it might use thicker plastic? Bullshit.

What is objectively the best Superman figure?
Is it the Mulletman?
>>
>>5360435
Why hasn't there been an accurate looking Batfleck yet? They all look too slim in the face, or just too small in general, they dude's fucking thick for this movie, not a twig.
>>

The Mafex Armored Bats is pretty thick

It will probably be the icons.

Christ even Neca's getting in on Dawn of Justice? I never thought it would have that many figures, and even the 3.75 figures look decent. The fact they have elbow articulation already beats the Star Wars toyline.
>>
>>5358735
I think that construct armor looks like shit. In toy form all I can think is that it looks like those old 90s figures with snap on battle armor. I would have much rather had them include a bunch of various construct objects.

Also, does anybody else think the regular Battfleck figures just look weird? The actual costume is really fantastic, but the toys just can't get the cowl right or something. The smaller ones have andrew garfield necks.

I haven't seen a single non-armored Batfleck that looks good in my opinion, they all seem to get the head/neck wrong, like the mask is too big for the figure's face or something

There's a few on Ebay and what youtube videos there are, people have been saying they've found them in Walmarts. So I guess they just leaked out early, I have also heard that the 1st was the official release date.

The one from the AoU 4 pack with Banner, Hawkeye and Thor.

It has the best paint apps of the two versions I have. The whole set has better paint than expected.

Her hair isn't glued in though for some reason, so it can come off for Bald Widow.

Icons, Multiverse, etc DC seems to have a mess of lines.

Which ones work with a 6" scale?
>>
>>5372508
They're both 6 inch scale but because things like Marvel Legends are a bit bigger than that they are a bit too short.
>>
>>5372508
They're all "6 inch scale" because "6 inch scale" is a goofy made up thing that doesn't exist and only confuses people.

The closest to 1/12 scale is Icons and maybe some of the Multiverse/Movie Masters figures. DCUC/Multiverse Superman are like 1/11. DCC's prior efforts have been around 1/10ish, or in between that and 1/11.

Scale's great no problems there.

Articulation I give a B-.

Upper arms, wrist, waist, and thigh swivels
>90° elbow bend
~90° knee bend
Ball mounted head
Standard DC hips, but with a great range
Good forward and back ankle tilt, but no left to right
Weird an crunch, he can only arch back, not bunch forward

A pretty solid figure really. I don't know if I'll pick up the unarmored one.

Seems pretty good. I know GR is one of the taller ML and he's a tad shorter than him, so against an shf he's gonna be pretty big. Much better than the typical movie master figure thats way too short to fit in with other 6inch figures.

>>5372774 did a good job reviewing Armored Batman. So I thought I’d put an addendum to his review and talk about the Vanilla Batfleck that’s in the same wave. It’s pretty obvious that Matty is trying real hard to ape the success of the Marvel Legends line, right down to the shape of the boxes. But window boxes, BAF pieces, and a $20 price point alone do not a Marvel Legends figure make.

Sculpt is pretty good for a middle price point figure. I can see Ben Affleck’s resemblance under the hood. There’s lots of wrinkles & panel lines in the suit. The body’s proportions more accurately resemble a real guy in an padded bat suit rather than lean, muscular comic style. He’s a bit more bulky around the mid-torso, but not as bad as 60’s TV Batman. I hate plastic capes as they don’t work well for dynamic posing and can really hamper articulation. (I’m looking at you, Mattel Arkham City Batman!) At least the one on Batfleck is not too obnoxious in that regard. Paint is pretty good, what little there is. There’s some gold painted weathering on the belt and on Batfleck’s toes & knuckles. I’m guessing the gold knuckles are some sort of electric knuckle dusters, like what Bats used in the JLU cartoon and the Arkham games. The eyes are nicely detailed with clear brown irises, black pupils, and white highlights. Surprisingly not derpy looking either.

>>5377536

Articulation is very similar to the DC Universe style, which is now very dated. It was good for 2008, but recent Marvel Legends and WWE figures show just how far articulation has come in such a short time. For starters, Batfleck has single jointed knees & elbows when double joints are the norm. His abcrunch joint movement is pathetically limited to a few millimeters. The much hated DCU hip joints have returned. There’s a big gap along the inner thigh when the legs are spread out. Worse still, the limited up/down movement of the hip joint makes Batfleck suffer from CSD (Can’t Sit Down) Syndrome.

Batfleck doesn’t come with any accessories, except the BAF piece. Not a single Batarang? For shame, Matty. The BAF piece is a stand for the grapnel gun that you assemble after buying all 8 planned figures. Yes, eight pieces. One is just a clear stick that holds up the gun on the stand. Also, you’re going to have to wait for a future wave in 6 months to complete your grapnel gun.

>>5377529
Probably not gonna pick up unarmored Bats, but how's Superman? He looks ok and the headsculpt is actually pretty good.

Be advised that this first wave hitting stores does NOT have Wonder Woman, despite what the back of the box says otherwise. She’s going to be in a future 1.5 wave somewhere down the line. Also, there’s a cheaper $10 line of figures aimed at the kids. Besides the two versions of Bats & Superman, there’s also Wonder Woman & Aquaman in the initial wave. And to make it an even 6 figure release, there’s also a gold “Gauntlet Smash” Batman. LOL. They’re about 5” high with cloth capes & accessories. Sadly, they’ve got limited cut joint hips & shoulders. The previous $10 DC Total Justice line had far better articulation.

That Supes is actually from the Man of Steel Movie Masters line a couple of years back. Aside from a few paint details and a slightly different head sculpt, he's exactly the same as the new Superman figure.

>>5377547

So is Batfleck worth it? Eh, It’s nice to see a real DC line back on the store shelves again. Mattel is at least trying to go the ML route after so many failed attempts at a new DC line since the death of DCU. Good paintjob and sculpt make this Batman a nice office desk piece to futz around with. However, the really bad articulation and the oncoming dearth of Batman figures flooding the shelves make this an easy pass if you’re just not that into Batman. Get the Armored Bats if you must have at least one figure from this first wave.

Well what do you knoe? The new Superman fig is not a total recast of the Man of Steel release.

The arms & thighs are the same, but the torso & calves are longer. He's definitely taller than his MOS counterpart. And again, new head sculpt. Still, I'm not gonna go out and grab this new Superman When I got the MOS version.

BTW, this is the SDCC version, hence the cloth cape.

Another comparison, this time with SDCC Batfleck & Movie Masters Bale Batman. They're definitely taller.
