The worst part of the movie was that last shot with the camera spinning around the cliff, much too JJ for my taste and not even suited for a Star Wars film. Also Poe's absence throughout most of the movie could have been handled differently, otherwise I really enjoyed this film.

In the original Star Wars trilogy Luke sucks at saving people and doing things, he is a character almost always in danger and it creates stakes. He is saved by Obi Wan throughout the first film, saved by Han on the Death Star, Saved by Leia and Lando at the end of Empire, saved by R2 when trying to rescue Han and Leia, saved by his dad after he lost. Rey was almost never in danger with the exception of the first meeting with Kylo Ren. She is great at everything, Han Solo likes her, she can fly the Falcon despite stating she never flew a ship like it before, she is able to use the force to call the light saber to her something it took Luke like 2 movies to achieve, she overpowers and defeats if you don't consider him a master an adept force user, the son of Leia and Han trained by Luke in the force who idolizes his grandfather the most powerful jedi/sith ever after just learning of her connection to the force.
If you honestly don't think she's a Mary Sue, you really don't understand what a Mary Sue is.

Kylo isn't anywhere near as powerful or as intimidating as his grandfather, and he knows it. He uses the mask and crazy lightsaber to attempt to create an image to him to be feared by, but in the end, he's literally a child trying to be edgy. Sure he could use the Force, but it makes sense for him to not be great at saber battles, he doesn't have his grandfather's experience. The only people he fought with the saber were some walls, and people who were defenseless. Then Finn, who was just a Stormtrooper and never handled melee weapons.

Seems like a key plot point is being ignored. Han says Luke was training TWO children to be jedi. Rey was left on a planet by her parents who promised to return some day. Since starwars films are usually pretty straight forward, it stands to reason that Rey is the second child Luke was training and was hidden away from the first order on Jakku for her own protection.

Just my opinion. The only proof I can offer is the guy getting stabbed in the forceback is a "Knight of Ren" in the credits. I'm guessing Luke found a temple from some old Jedi named Ren (the temple he finds in the Weapon of a Jedi books perhaps), and based his teachings on what he learned from the holocrons found within it.

If you scroll down to Mark Stanley (the guy in the forceback scene with a funny hat) it say's he played a Knight of Ren. This has been confirmed by multiple people viewing the actual credits of the film including myself.
To add more to the flawed writing in Rey, I just want to say that her "seeing Han Solo as a father figure" made little sense when the two barely knew each other that much within a short amount of time. I don't like that she is too "blessed by fate".compared to Luke and Anakin, though this is Star Wars so I can't say I didn't expect this coming from the start.
Poe was the best of the three and he was barely given screentime.
