The Henkei version is the same.

But yeah, I've been fiddling with him for a while and I can't find any way to secure his chest, which I certainly hope isn't the case. And there's no peg hole for his gun to fit on his shoulder, either.

I just don't understand the logic behind making a Transformer that can't actually hold a mode.
>>
>>5347135
I feel the same way about the masterpiece seeker, what a awful chest design.
>>
>>5347011
Which Armada Megan is better, the original Armada or the CW?
>>
>>5347139
Yeah, I have the same problem with that mold. And Blitzwing, too. Holy shit what a terrible toy.

After some fiddling with Hound I figured out that his wheels can hold his chest together pretty tightly, but I have to wonder why there's no peg or anything. Seems like a massive oversight.
>>
>>5347144
Depends on a lot of things.
Armada One has more cohesive design, gimmicks and can raise the shooty part of the turret.
Combiner Wars one has more realistic proportions, actually looks like a tank, better plastic quality, and is actually available.
>>
>>5347155

Blitzwing would've been fine if they did better QC. He's a great toy hindered by their shit QC.
>>
>>5347159

Armada is a brick but goddamn does it look good. Neat H-tank mode, loads of legitimately fun gimmicks, excellent detailing and goddamn that robot mode is to die for.

Unfortunately, it is still a brick, at least from the waist down. Why no 3Ps have made an upgrade for his legs I have no idea- it'd be as simple as replacing the pelvis and thighs, which are only held together with screws anyway.

>>
>>5347233
It's the monkey's paw for getting new Headmasters.

IE they won't fucking invest the money and tooling unless name characters are now Headmasters.

Of course, the irony is that only a SINGLE new Headmaster is being made (Skullcrusher). Hardhead, Nightbeat and Brainstorm have already received new figures. Brainstorm and Nightbeat just recently last year even!

Worse still: Siren, Horribull, and Squeezeplay are only fucking getting HEAD FIGURES released!!!!! No bodies!

The only fucking redeeming thing is that we are getting a new Galvatron and new Blurr but that's the only thing of value and redemption from this farce.
>>
>>5347262
Bingo.

Why the fuck release heads for Siren, Squeezeplay, and Horribull if you don't intend to make proper figures for them??????

And same for Brainstorm; we just fucking got him! And it's not like he was rare as fuck and they are redoing him from scratch to fix quality isues with the first version.

They did not even TRY and THINK of the logistics for Titan Wars! And now we are all going to suffer and they'll use this to never do Headmasters again!!!

>>
>>5347281
Both but Hasblow decided to cheapen out the American release. I really think that the Takara is the original version and the American was version 2 that was meant to cheapen it cause lets be honest, they plan this shit almost 2 years ahead of the announcement.
>>
>>5347264
Would not be shocked if the return of the Headmaster gimmick was a last minute thing.

By all accounts, Titan Wars was all about shilling the new Titan scale size with the big selling point being the base modes. Also, with freaking Blaster and the updated tapes/PDA legends figures as the chief selling point.

Headmasters were tossed in as an afterthought and it shows.

But yeah; it fucking sucks we are only getting a singe "new" Headmaster update. Looks like we are going to have to pray Takara comes through to fix Hasbro's bullshit and finances new bodies for Siren/Nightbeat/Horribull/Squeezeplay. Should not be THAT hard, since Siren/Nightbeat can use a single body that can be repainted. That just leaves creating two unique molds for Horrribull and Squeezeplay

The entire concept of selling replacement parts for toys like that doesn't make sense if you're not going to sell the replacement when the kids might need it.

They can't even handle distribution for combiners properly. We're adults and some of us have problems getting a full set. Imagine if you were a kid and got maybe one toy a month. So, after returning an unassembled MP-08 reissue, my replacement arrived today. He's in one piece, at least, but his robot legs cannot support his weight and his hands can't hold his sword upright. After googling, the most common culprit is loose screws in the hips etc, but I tried to tighten them and they are already screwed in very tight. Is there just a known QC issue with the Takara Grimlock reissue, or have I just been really unlucky?

>>5347690

Honestly, I love the CW stuff. It's got it's few problems, but honestly, these are probably the best combiners in a long time, including 3rd party stuff. They're fairly solid, they're big, they have good poseability. The individual bots are good.

Really, the only issues are usually aesthetics (Blastoff being a jet, CW Silverbolt/Superion's colors not being exact VS the UW version which is colored properly). Even the worst of the lot (Menasor with his pre-fix hips and heavy-ass top) are still worlds better than a lot of other things out there, and serve only as a minor damper to an otherwise great figure. The 3rd party stuff brings them to pure perfection to boot, if you want to take the extra step for them. And even if you don't they're still great by default, and at a much better price point than any of the 3rd party shit with it's ridiculous per figure prices.

i thought of making the headmaster a jet(or combining with a jet body), but I worried about the feasability of a triple-changing headmaster head, but i guess at leader class it would be possible.

Do it like the Titan Wars guys, and make her a normal headmaster head size, but with a helmet that forms around her and bulks her out, but the helmet becomes the body of the jet.

In dragon mode the helmet can fit over her dragon-mode head.

Of course, all this just makes me want a leader class update to Broadside.

No, thats not how things work. They could certainly price it much, much cheaper. They won't, however, for one simple reason: They know they're pandering to collectors. They know collectors will shell out any insane price as long as they can appeal to them.

It's not like the fixes are permanent or anything (unless you do that ridiculous hackjob someone did, cutting massive sections off Brawl), so you can easily display it how you like.

I can't wait for my Combaticons. Hopefully they'll be here by Monday, but I've yet to find a good price on an Onslaught's. Soon though, soon...
>>
>>5348052
If you were maybe talking about a lithograph or other simple print, maybe.

Toys are fucking expensive to produce. Injection molds for plastics are the most costly component, with costs skyrocketing for the complexity of what are usually MP analagous figures with high parts-counts.

I'm not saying that some of the costs aren't due to catering to a collector's market, but there's no way they could offer anything close to the prices that an international mass-market production company like hasbro can on figures and even break even, much less succeed as a business.
>>
>>5348074

I'm not saying those figures are going to be $15 or $20 for the larger types, but I am definitely saying a roughly Deluxe to Voyager sized figure wouldn't be over $50-70. None of this $100-130 shit they're pulling. And when you get ridiculous shit like Legends scale figures ranging in the $30+ range per figure (and often having the same structure of regular Hasbro Legend's figures), you know they're just gouging like a motherfucker.
>>
>>5347021
What are these?
>>
>>5348090
You're crazy.

Hell, for voyager sized MPs like the car bots, fucking Takara charges $50 each, and they move a hell of alot more units than most 3p companies.

The legends are sitting at basically double the price of the Has/Tak ones, which is about right.

I mean, yeah, they could probably drop thier prices by like 10-15% and still technically turn a profit, but yeah, i don't feel like they're anywhere near as inflated as you seem to think they are.
>>
>>5347754
That's neat. It really feels like it was more an ambitious design reined in, rather than a simpler one modified further. Things like the shoulders ratcheting on UW Dev compared to smooth on Hasbro, to the tread-leggers having hinge joints and thigh swivels in Japan compared to ball jointed knees in America.

That said, there's still tons of parts between both releases. Like how Scrapper and Mixmaster both have a dedicated joint in their torsos just so Devastator can get ankle tilts.
>>
>>5348091
kotobukiya model kits, pre-painted with stickers for detail.

Some smaller parts will need paint but the main portions of the kit are just about right, its still like the mini truck to represent optimus prime as a truck that will.

head to dalong.net in the kotobukiya section, they made the seekers (thundercracker and skywarp are a 2 pack) nemesis prime as well.

Yes its in korean but shit is so easy to navigate with english buttons for some pages (but not for his reviews sadly)
>>
>>5348095

Even a cut of 10-20% would make most of them a Hell of a lot more reasonable. Especially for anything combiner related. Or even just sets sold with a discount for buying the whole thing at once.
>>
>>5348099
... but the combiners do sell cheaper as a set if you get them in a timely fashion...

The OLDER out of print sets are way more expenstive, but that's the same for any collector based hobby.

The thing to remember is that most 3ps have a staggered release so that you can buy in the individual pieces over time rather than shelling out all at once, but once the full set is released nearly every major retailer like tfsource, bbts, etc will run a deal for the combined set that saves a decent chunk of change.
>>
>>5348117

Has there been a set deal anywhere for the MMC Feral Rex by any chance?

Liege Maximo. He'd basically be a shell-former because his alt-mode shell would become his throne (with guns), or battle armor with a cape. The inside of shells will be all evil organic machinery. His Alt-Mode would most likely be a jet.

These Autismo off-shoots and remixes would be funnier with 19.99$ (dollar sign at the end like the original). Part of what makes the original amusing is that autists and aspbergs would probably have a fit about the dollar sign being in the wrong place.

The bigger ones tend to have ugly robot modes with unsatisfying transformations.

They were really fucking themselves because each SW crossover toy had to do the following
>Represent a well-known vehicle
>Represent a well-known character
>Include a cockpit to insert a mini-figure

Later releases that omitted the cockpit gimmick, like Commander Cody and these small ones, turned out to be generally better.

Despite that, there's still one thing going for the line though---they are actually quite detailed representations of the vehicles.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say sooner rather than later. Whether its complete crap or not will remain to be seen.

I could see Razorclaw being a (heavy) redeco of Skylynx/Silverbolt so they can milk that as much as possible. Its the other Predacons that would weigh the design down as they don't have easy redecos to produce atm unlike the car and truckbots.

Then once those are done they'll repurpose those into the Terrorcons and etc.

The downside is this means we'll get a Predaking who skips leg day and no one will make a good turd party upgrade kit to beef out those pitiful legs, just like Superion, Grand Galvatron and now Skylynx.

I think superion's head and chest pull me away from those stick thighs of his, out of my gestalts he stands out the most and that isn't just because he's the UW version.

I think they used 2 of the 3 body types well, galvatronus looks good though cyclonus is bit original on the design front and if they just fixed up scattershot's chest and gestalt mode colors a bit he'd be pretty dandy, new head in combined mode would be sweet too.

And defensor/bruticus was just perfect personally, infact the CW defensor swayed me over from the UW in the end because of the sticker deco.

Its the "truck form" that annoys me, like my food I like my toys to be "as intended", so while those expensive 3rd party kits look good I honestly feel I shouldn't go out of my way to fix them, that said I have UW menasor and a CW optimus maximus as well, glutton for punishment I guess.

Excuse the lack of posing, Laptop sits infront of him at night and damn powerglide adds alot of weight acting as a weapon add on rather than a stand alone, part of my rotating display where shit gets shuffled every few months
