>Kotobukiya is making reproduction kits for Arnval and Strarf based on new Machineca (マシニーカ) bodies designed by Apsy.
>Plastica.jp will sell blank bodies once he's happy with the final design.
>Megami Device (メガミデバイス) is another proposed line using that new body, so they'll be compatible too. They could be GKs, model kits, or figures. Too soon to know.
>Frame Arms Girl continues with an unarmored kit plus the architect is up next, with another mech on the way.
>Blade teamed up with Megahouse to make some cheaper, 8cm tall 1:1 battle robot figures called Desktop Army. Their plan includes 3d printable add-ons to appeal to customizers.
tldr it's a good time to be a Shinkifag.
Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay/Amazon - only if you hate having too much money.
>Mandarake - search 武装神姫 and don't trust listing images (they sometimes get mixed up).
>Yahoo Japan Auctions - same kanji as above, you'll need a proxy, try Noppin or FromJapan.
>Taobao - search 武装神姬 and use a proxy like Taobaoring, Taoboafocus, or Bhiner.
>Amiami occasionally gets some preowned.
>Check the BST, My Figure Collection, and Busou Shinki World for sales.

Using a good specs case for Shinki as a travel capsule is both cute and practical if you use the included microfibre cloth as a blanket for them.
Also Xiphos looks pretty cool with about half her armor on.

This one is the worst shinki thread in a long time, 2 days, only 5 replies, one is a bump and other one is a moon angel shitpost.
Valona can fit this lunchbox, plus room for her wings and tail.
Post pics of whatever you use for travel with your shinkis.

How do you make them stand on a wall? or are you from Australia
Okay, I guess I'm getting somewhere finally. Though I think that I might drop the individual articulation on the body's lames in the future. It's a lot of finicky glueing and it doesn't seem to actually add anything of value at this scale.
>>5348269
Sure! I'll take you both on!
>>5348555
I dunno what this is, but I want one
>>5348621
It's a Corbridge Type A fit to an MMS1. I will release the pattern along with instructions once I'm done and reasonable happy with it, which should be next week-ish.
Of course I find the Werkstra police kit on sale after getting all my Christmas presents. Think anyone will buy it before the end of January when I get my tax refund? How quickly do garage kits usually move?
>>5348903
I want a Valona Police but I have no experience with GKs and I realize I'm never going to find a finished one for sale.
>>5348909
What luck, Valona police is on Jungle, too! And same here. Some experience with model kits, but none with GKs, and I know they're a whole other animal. Still, tax refund season is right around the corner and you only live once, right?
>>5348909
I have both, but I need to find an arnval swimsuit body to go with werkstra.
>>5348903
I really wish they came with eye decals..
>>5349021
Any way you can take a picture of the unassembled kit so I know what I'm in for if I take the plunge, please?
>>5349092
It's just enough parts for the armor, but it's all in white resin. Not all that many pieces.
Thing is the hair pieces fit on Konami's werkstra/valona so you could probably use their heads for it instead of having to paint the supplied blank ones. Only problem would be that the skin tones won't match if you're using the arnval and strarf swimsuit bodies.

Speaking of gks (yes, this isn't very shinki related, sorry) I picked up a couple of these EBO kits from last Treasure Festa. I'm not totally sure what to expect, whether I need to kit bash against existing figma parts or whatever. I'm still quite excited, I love that Humikane design.
I wish this stuff was easier to get.
>>5349171
You probably just need joints.
>>5349181
That's what I assumed.
>>5349163
Thanks a lot, I was actually hoping it was something super simple like this. Best part is that I already have paint to match Werkstra's colors since I painted a Little Armory MP7 for her.
Looks like it would be a fairly good intro to gk's, actually. No joints or rivets or anything like Corseca and Flamberge.
>>5349209
Got a formula for the skin tone?
>>5349209
Word of warning though, some of the parts, especially the handcuff bits, are really kind of too thin. You could do well reinforcing them with plaplate or something.

My shinkis that were within 4 feet of the bulbs got significant yellowing in their faces, hands, and feet. The plastic also became hard and brittle. Naturally, light's intensity drops off exponentially with distance, but I personally would not use any CFLs in the room the shinkis are in. I also avoid direct sunlight, and stopped using the few incandescents I have left after they stopped being used in the US. Overcompensation? Probably. But I don't want any more yellowed hands and feet.

Sorry for the delay, here are the omiyage I got from the Japanese shinki masters. The polaroid I took 5 times and gave them out to each individual master, keeping one of the shakier ones to myself.
Initially I got lost on my way to our meeting place, arriving a bit late, I met up with the 4, originally 2, shinki masters. The other 2 having saw our tweets to each other and asked to join.
After meeting up, we enjoyed some pretty good Katsu which was really good, especially for around 1,200 yen, and then caught the Girl und Panzer movie, which somehow has a twitter meme around it already「ガルパンはいいぞ」, Umikiri, the shinki master I originally asked and planned with for the meet wanted to treat me and Suiki, the other master who we originally planned with, lunch and the movie tickets but when Suiki was insisting on paying Umikiri back the cost of the both, I saw the chance to do so too.
During our lunch and walk to the cinema we conversed for a bit and made plans to go Akihabara for places like Mandarake and Jungle because I never actually had the chance to do so since my arrival, so they brought me around Akihabara, showing me the old parts of the town and explaining the sense behind how a town originally known for electronics turned into such a bustling weeb-hub. I found many good deals(like above) that Mandarake nor Jungle lists on their online site.
There were only pretty much the two Jungle outlets and Mandarake Complex for shinki goods so after those I asked if there was picconeemo clothes anywhere and I was brought to Little World, the shop with the small doll photography corner, which we took our first group photo at, I also purchased some clothes for my new shinki.
After walking so much we caught dinner we a nearby curry place, which was delish as well for the price and finished our trip off at the mall beside Yamada Denki which had the second Jungle outlet and another doll shop. Then they discussed and we went to a cafe, and took our second group photo there

There, Bunjiro, offered me a 1/12 japanese tea table and one of the many shinki clothes he has, which he kept increasing the amount I can take, but I took one cause it's really all I need.
Yobo offered a selection of shinki-size jewelry/accessories which we could pick two out from, he even had tiny ziploc bags prepared and also gave me a pencil case for shinki carrying.
Umikiri had given me a booklet I didn't open until I got back, seeing it really completed the whole day's experience for me. Next up is Osaka where I'll be meeting two more shinki masters for a nice tour around Osaka!

Drop the head on warm water for a bit, give it a blow of hot air with a hair dryer, move to the southern hemisphere this time of the year.
Dont move to Randall Mcnally, though. Shit's fucked up.
For anyone that wants their clothes to fit a bit better, I ended up grabbing a spare Picco Neemo body, and after widening the neck hole, it looks pretty good. Skin tone seems to match my Proxima Spinel, but looks just a hair too pale for Werkstra, but nothing too jarring, especially when wearing clothes. Also, I'm color blind, so take that with a grain of salt.
It's nice that they have an actual butt if you want them to wear panties or swimsuits or whatever, and it certainly makes shoes and stockings easier. If I had a better camera I'd take some comparison shots between the Picco Neemo and some shinki bodies and might anyway if people request it despite shitty cellphone pics.
Definitely planning on getting a bunch of blanks if/when Azone releases the new bodies with wrists so I don't wear out my shinki bodies too soon.

Uuuuhuhuhuhuhuh! they boned, uuuuuuuuuhuhuhuhuh!
Alright, guys. I really want to start a Stylet kitbash, but I can't decide which of three ideas to do. The first idea is a simple Strike Witches mashup to give her plane legs. The second idea I had was the modernize her and slap her together with an AC130. But the one I'm really leaning towards is going all out and turning her from a Japanese mecha musume into an all-American b-52 girl, complete with mega melons that look like bomb tips. Any suggestions, or should I go with my gut?
>>5359790
Do it with GUTS!
Do it with COURAGE!
Do it with litle plastic robotic girls
frequently
>>5359790
Finding either of those kits in a scale that works will be some work as they're both pretty damn huge crafts.
>>5352452
Are those made with silk flower petals? They look really cute.
>>5352669
If you're crafty, LED Christmas lights are going on clearance now and can be bundled together and neatly installed using a 'facade' of cardboard, foamboard, or coroplast with holes punched in it.
>>5359831
If my math is anything to go by, there's an ~8 inch model of both the B-52 and AC-130 available. They're just a hair too big there, but since both are behemoth planes anyway, having the wings and such look big on her would fit right in if I can't cut it down at all.
>>5359857
You'll polly much end up turning it into a dragliner-style aircraft to compensate for the size of the thing.
>>5359881
Think I should go back a generation to the B-17, then? a 1/144 b-17 is just about 6 inches long and it has the gunner bubble turret for some additional options.
>>5359790
I'd probably go with an AC-130 only because I see a B-52 girl being super MILFey which is far from what the FAGs look like.
Were you thinking of doing it Flight High School style where you strap the plane to her back?
>>5359894
I think you should try for planelegs first. They're reasonably easy to mod from WW2 1/72 fighter jets and don't take quite as much planning as the full-body modifications. You'll still have to mod the fuselage and wings with putty and plasticard even with those, mind you, but that'll be reasonably hard if you use Tamiya-kits as a basis.
These here were based on Revell-kits on account of how cheap they are, but it ended up being so much work that I figured I might as well rescribe all the panels.
The B-17 in itself is an interesting subject for such a conversion, but I'd personally go for a B-17G with is underslung nose turret or a Model 299 with its turret on top of the cone. The main problem I see with all the bomber-conversions is that you need to have a really good idea in your head what the final product should look like and that you'll probably end up buying two or three kits of various scales to get everything you actually need.
>>5359936
>I'd probably go with an AC-130 only because I see a B-52 girl being super MILFey
The AC-130 is a lot more portly than the B-52 though. I guess one could mod that into something like the large trauma plates on a bomb suit or some WW1 body armour
>>5359942
> you'll probably end up buying two or three kits of various scales to get everything you actually need
This is what I found when doing my first mod to turn Gourai into a tank. It's still not finished and I still need to find a 1/32 kit with the right parts for a reasonable price.
>>5359955
> 1/32 kit
I meant 1/35. This thread had me thinking aircraft scales.
>>5359936
Sort of, I'd cut the wings off and merge them with the turbine backpack, then cut the tail fins off and slap them where the little wings are on her calves. Then it's a fairly simple matter of replacing the other blue bits with pieces from the fuselage to keep it cohesive.
I might do a B-17, actually, since I was looking at the Flak Eater kit and it has a really nice turret shroud with shark teeth decals that looks like it would fit on her face over where her chin strap goes. And then maybe I can mount the gunner bubble on her wrist like her minigun. I'd probably cut her twintails down a bit to make her look more like a cowgirl. Maybe even grab a 1/12 cowboy hat somewhere. Maybe take her skirt off and give her some daisy dukes? I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud here. The main idea is making her as American as apple pie.
I'd need to see how everything stacks up size wise to get any real solid ideas.
>>5359942
That's probably a better idea, but I've always been an all or nothing kind of guy. Worst case scenario is that it looks like shit, but I still have 60 bucks worth of fun and learn a lot when I mess around with swapping parts from Architect and that Kagutsuchi Otsu sniper.
And the B=17G is the one I was looking at. Sorry, I'm not super into planes so I forgot the letter, which is ironic since I just complained about an Enterprise model getting the letter wrong. This kit specifically is what I was eyeing.
>>5359942
>try for planelegs
>>5359960
Another thing with both bombers is that you probably should try to to externalize and rescale some of the arrament. With the B-17 that'd be some of the bomb, I think.
With the Spook that would be one or all of the autocannons, if you wanna go fully Superman at World's End.
>>5360028
My original plan was using the bombs for her breasts, keeping hte mecha-musume look while giving her a good ol' American DD cup. The bubble turret is definitely going somewhere too.
And I don't think I've said it yet, so thanks for all the advice, everyone.

Went to Kamen Rider the Diner and had a wonderful experience there with a friend that took the same flight with me. Also went to a cafe where a line sticker set was having a collab with for it's goods, after that we went to catch the new Kamen Rider movie and I bought a lot of movie goods from the souvenir shop.
I'll never have this much fun at the local cinemas back home.

Are they producing clothes to sell for fa:g s or are they putting on clothes made by other brands?
>>5363184
You could probably use the same Picco Neemo or other 1/12 clothes that are also shinki compatible.
>>5363159
I've already grabbed 3 from ami ami, which was the maximum.
I still don't think the legs look as nice as shinkis, but the double joint looks interesting and they'll open up a lot of options for customising.
And dressing in cute clothes of course.
>>5363204
I'm also keeping an eye on the local model kits stores and ToG because I might want more than normal of them. Planning to have one of them done up with a 100% gloss finish with Mr Clear.
So my nigga finally arrive. Got her for 10 KYen, 10 KYen! She was opened and probably was stand somewhere. Sadly her neck joint is very loose. I like her. Well, have a little shitty pictures.
>>5363184
Some of them are from their cupoche clothing line up and others are from azone
>>5362588
There is a possibility they are factory overstock or rejects.

7k yen strarf mk 2 full arms package
I thought I'd come here before going to BST. If anyone is interested in a Gourai $90 shipped in the US you can contact me at [email protected]. The Gourai is unused and all the parts are there and still in it's factory sealed plastic bags. If you just want a picture of everything just e-mail me too.
>>5364320
GTFO scalper scum.
>>5364320
Just go to eBay, dude. At that price, no one will buy it here, everyone will make fun of you, and you'll just derail the threads.
>>5364320
Thats some nice scalping you've got going there.
Considering I've just bought another monotone Gourai for under $60, I'll pass.
These recent Strarf shots made me realize how much Valona was based on her.
>>5364799
She and Werkstra were designed as "budget" versions of their counterparts more or less.
In other news, Kotobukiya is doing a 2016 customer survey:
For their model kits:

Oh this second one is the original kotobukiya products one. So don't bother saying "I WANT SHINKIS" in that, cause that's not a Koto IP. Instead try requesting stuff that doesn't exist so far.
Also might be helpful to know that they log your IP and will disregard any additional entries from that IP. Might help to use google translate to input Japanese too.
>>5364824
For this, if you need it, エストリル and ジルリバーズ are Japanese for the bike shinkis.
>>5364799
Both Valona and Strarf MK2 are developments based on the original Strarf, if i remember correctly in BMMK2 you can tap into Strarf MK2's original Strarf cheerful personality, which pisses her off.
>>5364966
Do you have footage of this?
Special Delivery!

Not that guy but there's this image. Unless it's something totally different but apparently cheery strarf talks like a cat

Is Valona's voice in this Battle Rondo video her default or something? It's too sickeningly sweet.

Are there any older looking shinkis? I really like some of them, but i'm not into how young they look.
Basically, is there a milf shinki? Alternatively a really freaky and unique shinki. I have my eye on this one that has like, a purple/pink horse body.
>>5365161
Pink/Purple? Sounds like Proxima Spinal, she's an alt colour of the regular Proxima.
Suggestion is to go for MMS1 and MMS3 Tall shinki, because all the MMS3 Small shinki are young-looking.
>>5365161
I think that one is proxima.
Try check ianera and vespelio :)
>>5365161
Ianeira and Graffias are the moms of the line, though Graffias is more like a cougar rather than a milf but you know even scorpions love babies.
>>5365165
>>5365162
Yeah, thats the one. Love those kinds of unique designs. Face is also alright. I'm just really picky when it comes to this stuff, and i'm not a big fan of the art style, but this one is just really damn good. Theres a few on mandy right now, but I can't afford them right now, so i'm going to pass on them, but I have them on my list to buy.
>>5365165
>>5365172
Ianeira was actually the first one I was thinking of, but her face is off putting to me, and I feel shes just too thin. Her bust is nice, but it feels so cheap on twig.
Vespelio and Graffias is really cool. Though, looking at Vespelio makes me wish more of them had full on helmet heads. Also, is this a real shinki design? Cows are great.
>>5365262
Check the guide, all the existing shinki toys are listed there.
That particular one was just a design the artist drew up later on.
Also, Ianeira is as thin as any other MMS1 is. They all have the same body types, it's just Ianeira has "flotation devices" bolted onto her chest.
>>5363137
I think Shinki can already use the Figma Vehicles since they're in roughly similar size class. Stuff like the Miku bikes and the GuP Panzer IV.
>>5365280
It isn't a recolor, he just drew more shinkis than they actually made from his designs. For all we know, in universe, she exists. As do a number of other shinkis like literally all of the ones from the side manga forget-me-not. There was a companion shinki to the cow too but I don't have her saved at the moment.
>>5364799
Valona is Strarf with less tsundere and more sex appeal.
>>5365262
Someone tried to make one but fucked it up by not sticking to the concept.
>>5363204
I grabbed one in each color, but I don't know what I'd do with any more. All I can think of is recoloring, but that'll get a bit boring after a while. Now Architect is one that I'm considering three or four of. Plenty of ideas for her.
>>5365463
Looks fine to me.
>>5363318
>>5365609
The thing they give which none of the other kits come with is blank articulated arms and legs. That alone should be quite useful.
In the hurry, I forgot to leave enough space for the buckler above the collarbones, but this is good enough for a proof of concept.
The body's articulation's still too stiff and I will definately give the shoulderflaps integrated hinges in the next version, because I really don't think that the current soultion is an acceptable one.
>>5365985
Whats that dish with the sausages next to the knockers? what's everything ? they all look like desert version of another dishes.

nice
>>5365985
I'm seen some nice boobs there.
>>5366181
I've seen this armor before, and properly fitted it doesn't look like a trashcan anon. If you're cool with it that's fine and all, and it's more work than I'd put into it so more power to you, but don't try to play it off like it's entirely the designs fault.
>>5366292
He knew what he was doing. He knew.
>>5365985

As someone looking into getting a shinki I have a couple of questions. Is there a good way to know what's a "fair" price for one? Seems like unless you get one pre-ordered you're going to be paying a shit ton for it but is there a difference between what's fair and what's a scalper price?
Secondly, I saw there are a couple of "EX" ones? I think Wafflebunny and Bragg come to mind. Are they just smaller scale models, or are they literally just extra suits?
>>5367196
The prices vary by figure, Mandarake tends to be a pretty accurate gauge for current prices or just ask about specific ones here.
EX sets are extra parts - the don't come with a body, just a head and some gear. Zelnogrard is and "EX Plus" and does come with a body though.
