So, why aren't we talking about the greatest toyline ever? I'm too poor for the Hot Toys, so it's S.H.Figuarts for me. No other companies are even in the running, so let's cut all the Hasbro discussion.

Picked up two Phasma black series from california Targets today. Shit was untouched , had to ask an employee to look in the back for the new wave and he came back with an unopened shipment box of wave 2 figs. Is it really common that stores don't put out figures like this? There was room for it on the pegs along with a few Finns and Constables.

>>
>>5338348
dunno lol, 1st post here 2bh, people say that about generals elsewhere so it's probably true
>>
>>5338273
Believe it senpai. I asked them to see if they had the TIE fighter pilot from this upcoming wave and the stock guy and floor employee knew nothing about the characters, so naturally they just showed me all they had in stock by meeting me at the warehouse double doors. I initiated the convo by showing them the "in stock @ this location thing for the Pilots page on target.com. So they and myself thought they'd probably be in the back.

At the second Target I went to, they brought two unopened boxes of Wave two figs after I asked for the Pilot again. This woman cut the boxes open right in front of me in the aisle and handed me the phasma. Didn't stick around to see if they put the rest on the pegs but she probably did.

Always ask an employee who looks nice and probably doesn't know things about Star Wars, so they'd be less inclined to make assumptions on what they have in the back room. People willing to help you who don't run the toy section have no fucking clue what you're asking for so they usually just go look in the aisle for you and then check in the back.

It's all in how you pose your Black Series figures.

the only thing aside from face paint apps that I've preferred Figuarts over Black Series were the drop down hips... Which we didn't even get with some figures in the line that needed it like the Clonetrooper.

Their arms are great for posing but a lot of them have joints that look clunky and obvious. Case in point: >>5338868

Figuarts I find is 50-50 in terms of how their figures turn out. it's almost like they hire completely different sculptors for each figure, (The Jedi Luke and Stormtrooper don't even look like they belong in the same line) there doesn't seem to be a stylistic consistency and that to me detracts from how obviously amazing their poseability is.

That being said I'll do the same thing I do with most of these: Get the Black Series first, get the Figuarts next, then sell whichever I like less.
>>
>>5338911
(Same anon posting)

And to be fair I see a lot of Figuarts fanboys' points when they talk about Black Series' downfalls. Not as poseable, loose joints right out the package, inconsistent to consistently bad paint apps, I mean the list goes on.

Really it boils down to which one catches my aesthetic attention from figure-to-figure. I have no particular loyalty to Black Series or Figuarts either way and doing so will only lead you to disappointment eventually,

In this case I just really like that fucking Black Series Jango.

...Minus the misplaced eyebrows

Tamashii is a line that never fails to disappoint, which is why I don't preorder any of their stuff anymore. They charge figma prices but produce half the quality. Their Vader couldn't even hold his hands straight out and put both of them on his saber for Christ's sake. I know Japan has the technology to make figures do that, because I have them. While the Black series may not be as good, they are acceptable for the price point and I generally know what I'm getting. For certain figures, I'll take Tamashii, and for others, the Black series.

Not him, but are you legitimately retarded? So far most of the only people who have seen it were those who were invited to, and whenever that's the case, they ALWAYS rate whatever shit is on the screen to be 10/10 film of the year, because they're the cock suckers.

I mean fuck, Phantom Menace got great, positive reviews the first couple of days before it premiered. Everyone with half a brain knows you have to wait a week before trusting the reviews. And where are you getting your "reviews", /tv/, where it's doubtful anyone there has even seen it?

And even still, if you're that dependent on critic's opinions, you have enough problems as it is.

You should go outside, do something better with you life. You're a sad, sad little man

/tv/ seems to be havin' a laugh over how bad and predictable the movie is.
>>
>>5341683
The biggest issue is that it retreads A New Hope, like entirely. Even the "good reviews" admit to that. That's more than a little bothersome to me, personally.
>>
So how long is Han Dies going to be a meme?

And I don't see how it's an issue, hell even my father who doesn't give a shit about Star Wars figured out Han was the dude who was going to die.

This is JUST the type of rehash I was expecting, it's nothing but a glib facsimile.

If Star Wars was all I had access to as a child in terms of sci-fi I probably would become one of those crazy fanboys, but thankfully I had access to anime from very early on in my youth years that my mental balance is very stable.

Seriously, if you have watched Akira, you'd realize just how sophisticated anime is and it blows away anything Star Wars would have to offer.

A lot of people mention Ghost In The Shell, which has just enough of sexuality in the mix to draw in the western audience I suppose but I must say that Ghost In The Shell is not even in my top 10 anime, not even close, that's just how deep the world of anime is.

Some anime is so disturbingly mature like Fractale that I wish it would challenge the system and submit it as a Drama category in the Oscars just to bitchslap the snotty Academy.

It's not just the level of maturity and sophistication anime has, it's also quite original, entertaining, and visually fantastic. I would regard anime as the highest form of cinema art-form.

But hey, me preaching about anime won't do you any good, you gotta go out and see it for yourself just how much you are missing.

The recent one I would recommend to check out is Sword Art Online which is light and easy to get into anime for the first time yet appreciate it as much, but if you want the heavy stuff right off the line check out Guilty Crown in which the plot is so complex and twisted that you'll need extra oxygen pumped into your brain in order to comprehend everything, and if you want amazing visuals and a gripping drama that also has awesome mecha battles Aldnoah.Zero is the shit.

Seriously, if you know anime like I do, Star Wars looks like it's something for little kids.

Not who you're replying to, but as I said, I thought I was going to love it... and I loved the humour... but oh my god, it got bad. Whomever says Kylo Ren was the greatest was on something when they went into the cinema, I am telling you now.

>>
>>5342537
So what is Kylo like? Better/Worse than ep3 Anakin? Somewhat likable at all or just straight-up edge trash?
>>
>>5342552
I didn't think it was very good. To me, it was like one of those reunion shows where they get the original cast back and try and hit the same jokes over and over, and just subtly miss every time. But fans are laughing and loving it because "They blew up the death star again with x-wings hitting an exhaust port, fucking hilarious!"

No, for me, I think this was one of the things that made me dislike the movie. The other main thing was Luke not being in it, and Han being someone who thought he was getting the character right but completely wasn't, and the director was too busy going, "I'm telling Harrison fucking Ford what to do, how cool is that? Bongo solo!"

>>5342557
He's a whining teenager. I kid you not. He's not deep, he's not subtle, he gets upset that his dad... something something. Hates his parents and everything light side but "it calls to him" and really he's just an entitled little shit. Supervillain he isn't. "I want to be just like granddad!" "You'll never be as evil as Darth Vader." Or whatever the line was.
>>
>>5342562
So he was about what I was expecting.
How disappointing. His design is kind of cool.

I wish more dark side characters had a little more depth than just insane evil Saturday cartoon villain. I remember thinking while playing KOTOR recently that I didn't really understand why using the force with emotion was so bad. I feel like there's a gray area that's totally not being addressed.

If they retcon Jar Jar into actually being evil to try to ammend the prequels, they will make him the apprentice of one certain guy I can't talk about.

The scene you see in the trailers is the scene you see on the film, in a flashback.

Knights of Ren are never seen otherwise or do jackshit.

Kylo is said to be their master, though

Because Ford wanted off of the Disney nightmare and off the Star Wars nightmare since Empire Strikes Back.

In the film because Snoke influences Kylo and Kylo wants to complete his final test (that makes him apt for sith training)

Also, Kit Harington is like, 5'8", so of course he's gonna look short next to Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver is the same height as her, so Kylo and Phasma should be exactly the same height. I'm more pissed Phasma died offscreen and barely even appeared in the film.

She's dead, there won't be any Phasma in the sequels. If she survived the trash compactor then the explosion surely killed her. Still a dick move on Finn and Han's part to basically toss her in the trash chute though, I completely agree with Han shooting Greedo first, but I don't think he'd kill someone in such a painful way.

I actually quite liked Phasma from the little she was in the film. Still, if they were going to kill her they ought to have done it onscreen at least. Don't have Han and Finn hold her at gunpoint then throw her in a trash compactor. Boba on the other hand, sucked balls. Jango was a far cooler mando.
