those of you just joining us, please read this guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

You can use ajy lacquer thinnerfor cleaning.

As far as primer goes, I use Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500 (black or grey) thinned with Mr. Levelling Thinner only. I'll spot prime with Mr. Surfacer and sand any problem areas beforehand.

Mr color thinner, but i know normal lacquer thinner should work and will be getting it after this bottle runs out.

Mr tool cleaner also, strong stuff.

For priming any of the Mr surfacer bottle with leveling thinner, got 1000 base white, 1000/1500 normal (gray) and a spray can of black surfacer 1500.

In the US they've started selling "low voc" lacquer thinner that is a substitute for normal lacquer thinner. It's allegedly less odorous and less harmful to both humans and the environment. You still have to put it in a jar and deliver it to a disposal facility though.

I thought that too, but actually mock is a pretty bad match. Nothing on the mock matches the death army soldier. The eye and horn can just really be any carved out monoeye.

Question. Does 1999 (Hobby Search) not allow gift debit cards? I tried making a purchase with a Visa debit I have, and the price was covered by the card. I don't know what issue happened, but I tried multiple times and checked that my info was correct.
>>
>>5335874
Check the fine print for the gift card. A visa one I was given was only usable in the US and not for international use. You can try it through PayPal, but I don't think that'll work either.

You may not have noticed, but >>5335930 actually suggests 2 methods for finding the information requested, in addition to suggesting google. I will elaborate:
This anon >>5335922 suggests he has built the kit. It's not far fetched to assume they still have the manual in their possession, and a quick scan of said same manual would result in a solved mystery.
Barring the manual's physical presence, there are even multiple sources for scanned manuals, such as Hobbysearch's website, 1999.co.jp. A simple check on one of these sites would have the same effect as looking at the physical manual.
Hope that helps.
>>
>>5335999
nice trips

Judging from this guy's post it looks like he is on Dalong already (therefore has access to the manual), and knows that you just slide it out. Because of that picture.

>I'm trying to do it on mines, but it's pretty much stuck in there.

This indicates that he is following the instructions, but for whatever reason it does not pop out/move out.
>>
>>5334834
does Mr Tool cleaner work well to remove mr surfacer from airbrush ?
>>
>>5336008
So essentially, he was hoping someone who knows Dalong personally, and had spoken at length with Dalong on the subject, would be so kind as to tell him specifically how Dalong does it, and not how to find out for himself how to do it.
Makes so much more sense now.
>>
>>5336014
Maybe he was hoping someone else here had the same problem and knew of a work around.

Maybe he was hoping someone here had personal experience dealing with the subject matter and would give their personal opinions on why the piece won't slide out.
Dalong isn't the only guy who has built the Hi Nu ver Ka. I'm sure someone here has.
>>
>>5336018
Maybe they could just look at the pictures of the manual, as shown on Dalong's website.

Maybe they could look up the gunpla on youtube.

I have Wing Gundam Zero (slightly broken post-assembly) and Freedom Gundam (unopened) Gunpla. I am going to try to make a diorama with the scene-arama mountain kit which my wife bought me, but it's my first time trying anything like that. Any tips?

Cone #2 turned out better than the abominable cone #1. Bevelling the edges 45 degrees like they taught at the welding lectures helped a lot.
Unfortunately it still had a pretty big seam and I don't have any putty. So I had to grind up some plastic, dump a little cement there and apply the resulting paste. How much should I wait before filing/sanding it down, so the polystyrol sets? I'm guessing a day? 12 hours?

zeta plus update

decided to ditch the amuro/hummingbird colours, the white was just not coming out of my airbrush right no-matter the thinning ratio or what I do but I did find a really nice light gray that is turning out great so I'm thinking of using that instead of the white and modifying the colours slightly to do more of a commander/custom type suit

might need something else to break up all the grey (although the original suit had a similar amount

i'll post the pieces in a sec with a comparison to bare plastic

I'm choosing a gundam to get for Christmas, Do I get 1/100 MG Sinanju OVA, or the Titanium finish one?, just asking never really sure, and is it worth getting a 1/100 stand with it?.
>>
>>5337200
Unless you really like metallic finishes, go for the OVA version. Since the kit wasn't originally intended to have a metallic finish, the pieces aren't undergated, which makes for some pretty bad nub marks.

Get an action base 1 if you want to do some aerial poses with it.
>>
>>5337200
Stands are always worth it. The titanium finish can look good if you're good at removing nubs, otherwise it looks like balls.
>>
>>5337206
>>5337205
You guys don't make making a choice any easier, Surprised to see more support for the OVA.
>>
>>5337211
Get the stand and the OVA version. Once you become a better builder and can accurately recreate the titanium finish, buy it. Then you don't have to worry about ugly nub marks.
>>
>>5337211
Because non-undergated metallic finish kits look terrible. You're better off buying the OVA version and doing a metallic paint job on your own.
>>
>>5337214
>>5337213
Alight, you guys convinced me, and is this a 1/144 or 1/100 base?, http://store.zombster.com.au/browse/details.asp?ProdID=129358 Doesn't say on the website.
>>
>>5337223
1/100. General rule of thumb is that action base 1 (the one in your link) is for 1/100 and action base 2 is for 1/144.

Those are stickers and that's a green backing, they're easy to confuse color wise but hold on in person and you clearly see where the stickers peel off.
