Are trains generally accepted on /toy/?
Pic related; I own it.

I used to have a few hornby model trains
Soon.

Bachmann needs to do a second series of Thomas Models aimed at collectors.

Spergs who want to count rivets are too small of a minority for that to be profitable
Skarloey has them for the inevitable Talyllyn model
>>5331970
A mass produced range of Talyllyn stock sounds really nice. Let's see if it happens.
My mom used to be a Disaster Emergency Manager for her county. As part of her job was constructing scale-model scenes for disaster training workshops, she ended up buying a lot of model train cars in different scales with the county budget. After she retired, she gave them all to me.
I used them as scenery for tabletop RPGs. Then later I gave them away to somebody on /tg/. They were fun.
I own this too.

Why ugly trains on plastic rails?
Shed 17 figures when?
>>5334106
Hi there /m/.
If you wanted to do a decent one from a model you'd have to gut out the motor and such. The skeletal bits would have to be done from scratch.
>>5331970
All of the Thomas engines are based on real-life engine models. Having accurate representations of them would be useful to anyone looking to model British railways in that time period.
>>5335374
Hornby bases their Thomas range on existing models of the prototypes. Problem is that if they didn't have one they'd say fuck it and use something else.

He's cute, and all, but I think I'll wait until Bachmann releases these to get him.
My plan is to spend my eventual retirement turning my basement into a giant model Shinkansen line. I collect SHFs and figmas etc at the moment, but I've strategically avoided buying any model trains cos I know I'd get hooked and it would become an enormous money sink. I still really like reading train threads when we have them though.

that is the bachmann one though......
>>5336955
similar predicament, although I already have tons of stuff, and nowhere to set up my layout
so it just sits boxedup...

I'm talking about the coaches.

Because of the disaster scenarios, most of them were tankers. You can see how I expertly applied graffiti to one of them.

You're gonna be waiting awhile.

Plarail is an awesome toy train system. Has the quality of Lego in that its almost unbreakable and the detail on the trains isn't bad considering its designed for children.
>>5348191
for little children plarail is fine, but there are no little children on 4chan - I hope
btw, this is quite cool

I want it.

You're on 4chan, everyone is a little child (but over 18 yrs old).
I agree with the other anon that plarail is like lego. You can throw realism out the window and do stuff like this
https://youtu.be/TWllYzHrmiU
And like lego, it gets quite expensive.
Figure this a good place to ask. I went to Disney World about 15 years ago and picked up a red Monorail set. It's been my go to Christmas train ever since. Now I'm thinking about getting a second one for next year. Does Disney sell individual monorails? The Disney Store only lists pic related, but it comes with tracks and figures which I don't need.
Also I vaguely remember some accessory sets like stations, and switch tracks. Do they still make those?
>>5348762
As far as I know, they don't do individual Monorails. Sorry, Anon.
I don't know about the switches and accessories still being in production. You should hit up ebay.
>>5348588
Exactly why I buy Plarail. I don't have a permenant spot to set trains up. They are pretty detailed if you can get over the toy-like proportions and can be set up and taken down easily.
