Well, my first day was Black Friday, 3 hours before close.
It wasn't too bad, considering how it was the last time I worked a Black Friday. But up until close, most of us were just picking up dropped and misplaced toys and putting them into carts, but when we closed at 11, we were putting toys back onto shelves until 2am.
Just a lot of stock to deal with, and its my only horror story so far.

I went in TRU the other day to look for Strawberry Shortcake dolls for my niece and there was some 30-year-old autist running around the doll aisles yelling, "I want THAT! I want THAT!" to pretty much all of the MLP and MH stuff to I guess his relative/handler? It was my first time encountering one in the wild in my smaller town, so it was kinda surreal.

Any deets on this? Was he being an ass thinking coupons/credit card promos applied to gift cards, or was he caught red-handed in a scam? When I worked retail, we did something similar to someone who returned an absurd amount of stuff for store credit and found out it was consistent with stolen goods from another store.

Sure they did. TRU almost never promotes from within. They prefer fresh meat as its easier to stuff their current bullshit into their heads.
I saw so many managers come and go in my time there, and at least four or five DMs. It's a very backstabby kind of company.

We aren't allowed to sell anyone gift cards through Apple Pay, Credit Card, or Checks if the amount exceeds $200 or something like that. He was trying to pay with Apple Pay, which can't be traced back to him if something goes wrong (which is what my manager said at least) so he voided the purchase. The guy got mad, so far as going behind the customer service desk and threatening to punch him. Manager just called for security and had him escorted out.
